Takata recall. The contact owns a 2010 Ford Edge. The contact heard an abnormal noise progressing from the brakes and the brake pedal was difficult to depress. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for inspection and recommended that the vehicle be taken to a dealer to replace the brake booster. The dealer (ray pearman Lincoln, 2501 bob wallace ave sw, huntsville, al 35805, (256) 536-7451) and the manufacturer indicated that the vehicle was excluded from a service campaign and refused to provide a solution other than the part being replaced. The contact was uncertain that if the part was replaced the failure would not recur. The vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 16V384000 (air bags). The manufacturer provided no solution and was contacted to determine when the air bag recall repair would be provided. The approximate failure mileage was 122,000.
