Brakes press down to the floor and will not stop. Sometimes the brakes are very hard and I'll have to pump them. Pumping still doesnt guarantee a complete stop.

The car would not stop when the brakes were applied. The pedal felt hard and the car continued to roll. It came to a stop on my lawn. I took the car to my Ford dealer and they immediately knew it was the brake booster. If I had been in traffic I might have had a collision or worse. I drove in my driveway and hit the brakes very hard and after three panic stops they seemed to work. I put the car away and the same thing happened the next day. I did three panic stops and the brakes began to work. I then took the vehicle to boucher Ford where the service writer new what the problem was as soon as I told her what had happened. Why is this not a recall? my car had non-functioning brakes! if there was a recall I was never notified. I bought the car new and have not changed my address since I bought the vehicle. I have serviced my car since new at the Ford dealership.

Occasionally when braking (when the vehicle is in motion), the brake pedal becomes very soft and it feels like you have no brakes for the first 3/4 of the pedal. Eventually you can slow down and come to a stop but you have to make sure you give yourself a lot of room as it takes a greater amount of time to stop the vehicle than normal. This failure is sporadic but has occurred on numerous occasions - especially when it is raining which is even scarier as you definitely want solid brakes when driving in the rain. But, it has also happened on completely dry days. When the car is on and in park, and you push the brake pedal you also hear a "thud" sound, and can feel a vibration in the gear shift. We have brought this problem to the dealer multiple times and they continue to tell us nothing is wrong, but it appears from reading others' posts that the brake booster has failed. We are taking it in one more time tomorrow and will push for resolution, but this really feels like something Ford should address as a recall as it is a major safety issue.

The brakes are not working properly. When I put my foot on the brake, it takes several feet before the car will stop. If I were to have an emergency, I couldn't stop in time to avoid it. This occurs when I am driving and attempt to stop whether I am driving forward or backing up.

The contact owns a 2012 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at 60 mph, the steering wheel seized and the brake pedal was difficult to depress. In addition, the vehicle was shifted into neutral causing the vehicle to swerve right and hopped into a ditch and crash into a tree. The contact sustained a left hand and chest injuries that needed medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a towing yard. The contact was unaware if the vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.

My vehicle is experiencing the conditions detailed in Ford's owner notification program 13N02 but the dealer and Ford are claiming the brake booster was repaired in April 2014 prior to me taking ownership under the Ford certified used car program and no further financial assistance towards the repair would be provided. I would have to pay and the quote is approaching $800 + to fix the concern. My vehicle has the spongy brake as detailed along with the hissing noise when the brakes are pressed. I have to push the pedal all the way down to the floor in order to stop the vehicle.

Sometimes when the ABS activates the brake pedal becomes very soft, you can still stop but you have very little braking for the first 3/4 of the pedal. I have figured out that I can rest the ABS control module by going in to the car wash and activating the ABS a few times. I think the problem is the hcu and I could have one put in but this seems to me to be a design failure and should be covered under a recall. Its only happened a couple of times when driving during icy conditions but it should not happen and could cause an accident.

There was a recall on the brake booster - possible 13N02 brake booster fsa - that I was not notified of. I called the Ford dealer to diagnose a brake issue and a week later they got me in and then casually told me they replaced my brake booster at no charge because it was part of a recall. I just signed up on nhsta websites to be better informed.

While driving at slow speeds pedal goes to floor but doesn't happen all the time. May drive 6 weeks before it happens again. Ford has extended recall on power booster. Dealer replaced booster says that was the problem. Drove vehicle another three weeks and pedal goes to the floor again still while driving slow or coming down a hill pressing brakes slightly. Replaced master cylinder but no change. Scared to drive vehicle. Never know when the brakes are going to act up.

Brakes made a hissing sound when pressed and brake pedal went to the floor when pressed. When backing up there were hardly any brakes available to stop. Took it into a mechanic and they had to replace the power brake booster. This is not simply replacing the brake pads but this is a mechanical issue on a vehicle that is only 4 years old. Huge safety issue.

17 year old driving her car, was on a slight incline, brakes failed, she almost rolled into the car behind her, but she was able to turn in the turning lane and make a right turn and did the responsible thing, call mom and dad after getting into a parking lot. Hubby drove it home and he had to slam the pedal down to get the brakes, to work, we are waiting for dealership to open in the morning to tow this vehicle to get looked at as it is too dangerous to drive.

Fsa 13N02 brake booster extended warranty. My first complaint is that this fsa is not a "safety recall" but classified as a customer satisfaction action if someone complains about their brakes. I was pulling out onto a very busy street and seconds away from getting on the interstate when my brakes failed, I could not stop. My vehicle was in the shop for a different problem and supposedly brakes inspected as a "service to me" the day before this incident occurred. My 1st question is why was I not notified of this potential safety hazard and 2nd why doesn't Ford consider this a safety issue. I was very lucky nothing happened to me, as I was on my way out of town for a trip. I find this very irresponsible on Ford's part and something should be done about it. I am very seriously looking at a different manufacturer to make my next car.

The contact owns a 2012 Ford Edge. While driving 65 mph, the brake pedal was depressed but it took a greater amount of time to stop the vehicle. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the brake booster needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact was aware of a voluntary service campaign by the manufacturer addressing the failure, in which the VIN was included. The failure mileage was 56,699.
