The brake pedal went all the way down the floor when my wife was trying to stop. She had to go into next lane and was lucky she didn't get in an accident. Next day I drove to dealer with same issue. I drove 15 miles to dealership and turned car off in service area. When service technician got in car, brakes were working. This is very scary. We've had this happen to us many times for the last few years. Last year they replaced the brake booster in a recall for this issue. The brake booster is failing again or this is still a BIG problem with the 2013 Ford Edge. The service technician said to drive back to them the next time this happens. This is a original defect in the 2013 Ford Edge. I now feel it is not a brake booster problem but some type of computer glitch since the brakes pedal reset itself after my 15 mile drive to the dealer service center. We have been lucky that we haven't got in a serious accident, but I assume others have. Ford needs to figure this out.

Brake booster gone bad. Ford DID not recall this problem! Some have it some don't. Seriously, Ford? You wait to find out how many people's brakes fail and then you'll fix it?

Brakes felt spongy. Took my Edge to the dealer. Dealer said come back tomorrow we need the Edge all day; you're brakes should be good until then. WRONG. I went to brake and it barely stopped.

I have the extended warrantee. Ford will cover this. What if I didn't? My Edge has only 45.000 miles on it!

Ford you are being reckless with people's lives. You must recall your boosters.

Having the Edge towed. arggghhhhhh. My Higher Power was looking out for me. It could have been bad.

Not sure the above info is enough. The problem is as the car approaches an overpass bridge, the car wants brake. Flashing red lights, brakes applied. Car stops under the bridge! Does not do this at all bridges overpasses, but a couple here in our community and usually in one direction. This is a little discerning and unexpected.
