Brake pedal goes to the floor with much reduced braking power. Then problem may go away for awhile, but then always reappears. Starts at intermittent, but eventually becomes permanent. Had brakes and rotors replaced which did not help. Had Master Brake Cylinder replaced which did not help. Determined to be the ABS/HCU unit internal valves getting stuck "open" which allows the brake fluid to bypass the brake system which causes low brake pedal and loss of brakes. VERY costly too have repaired and parts are not readily available. Many 2013 (and other years) Ford Edge owners are experiencing this problem as can be seen by the many YouTube videos identifying this problem. Ford should replace the defective units. Not having brakes is a BIG safety issue.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Edge. The contact stated while depressing the brake pedal to stop the vehicle, the brake pedal was firm, and the vehicle failed to stop immediately. The vehicle was taken to the local service center who diagnosed that the brake booster was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The local dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 101,500.

The brake pedal goes all the way to the floor without stopping the car. It makes a hissing sound. I have almost had three collisions because of it. The Ford service center told me it's three months outside of the manufacture date range for a warrantied service of the brake booster on select Ford Edge models manufactured at their Oakridge plant between May 3, 2010 and March 28, 2013. (13N02) My car was manufactured at that plant on June 24, 2013. The warranty extends replacement of the booster pump on cars for 10 additional years up to 150,000 miles. My car's warranty start date is April 21, 2014 and it has less than 100,000 miles. That means it is with in the warranty parameters, except for the date of manufacture. I have opened a case with Ford customer service, but they are telling me that the repair of the brake booster cannot be covered under their warranty extension.

My brake booster failed while driving and lost control. Recall had been issued for for 2013 edge for this problem based on VIN. Mine was not included yet it failed in my low mileage garaged car. Nearly impossible to contact Ford for resolution. If the failure happened on my car it should be covered under Terms of Recall.

On at least two occasions, I-??ve experienced my brake pedal going all the way to the floor when trying to stop. I-??ve had my brakes inspected by two different dealers and both have confirmed that the brakes are in good condition with no repair needs. The brake pedal will slowly continue to the floorboard and then I have to almost pump them to resume the stopping mechanism. Thankfully, it-??s only happened twice and neither incident caused an accident or injury. After reviewing these noted incidents, I see that I-??m not the only Edge driver who has experienced this issue that needs review by Ford.

2013 Ford Edge. My dad's Ford Edge started having brake issues with the pedal going to the floor and the car not stopping. We replaced the master cylinder, and ABS Control Module with dealer parts and the issue continued. We then replaced the brake booster. Same issues are still there. We've even hooked up our $4,000 scanner to do the brake bleeding process. The brakes have been bleed well over 20 times now. We've spent over a mouth trying to fix this issue. My husband is a ASC Certified Master Tech and has been working on cars for well over 25 years. We're at a loss with this issue. Ford needs to do a recall, there are numerous reports on line of this issue happening to other Ford edge owners. It is Unsafe to have these vehicles on the road when the brakes are not working properly.

Brakes became soft and pedal then went down to the floor while driving. I was able to pump the brakes back up and I took it to the Ford dealer and they could not find an issue they said the brakes were fine.

The brake pedal became difficult to depress at very low speed and rendered the vehicle difficult to completely stop. There was no warning light or other indication of defect. At one point I could have potentially had a collision with another vehicle at an intersection when I started to go but stopped. The brakes worked normally at higher speed. I took the vehicle to a repair shop which said the brake power booster was bad and needed to be replaced. Before the work was commenced I ran the VIN through both the Ford and NTHSA websites to see if there was any recall or other information on this problem and found nothing. After I got the car back I did some research on the issue and found there was a problem with this part in the same year and same plant where my vehicle was manufactured, to wit 2013 in Ford's Oakville plant, and that Ford had given extended warranties on the brake booster part to 150,000 miles on certain vehicles made in the plant but not mine. Reference number is 13N02. I have written Ford about this but they disclaimed responsibility. I do not have the part, as the repair shop had disposed of it before I found about the part problem in the Oakville plant.

Brake pedal goes all the way to the floor and is like a sponge at random times. This causes the car to not brake and you have to pump the breaks and what it feels like add pressure to the brake line. This has happened several times over the past 8 months. It appears to be a known issue with a lot of owners. I have had two mechanics look into this problem and have paid almost $500 and no issue can be found. I-??m now concerned for anyone to drive it until the issue can be resolved. I ve been told by local mechanic that it is the POWER BRAKES BOOSTER I ve called my local Ford dealer where I bought my car, Oxmoor Ford I was told the brake repair warranty was for 10 years and no longer applied to my car. I only have 45,00 miles. Please help extend the warranty on my car since I am still in the 10th year. They said it ended April 25, 2013 I did have a wreck earlier this year- I rear ended someone- could have been the brakes. Don t know

The contact stated while driving 35 MPH, with the brake pedal depressed to the floorboard, the brake pedal made an abnormal hissing sound and vibrated, failing to stop the vehicle as expected. The contact stated that an abnormal amount of pressure on the brake pedal was needed to bring the vehicle to a complete stop. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who advised the contact to take the vehicle to the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related it to Customer Satisfaction Program: 13N02, but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 78,000.

The backup camera works when it feels like it and the monitor glitches when it is working as well as things appear upside down and blurred when in reverse. The camera stays on for a minute after gear is placed in drive. The radio goes in and out. The screen freezes up after disconnecting a hands free call. The brakes feel like they-??re locking up when pressed and makes a clunking sound.

Started with a "spongy" pedal feel that included a noticeable effect on braking performance. Great force was necessary in order to stop the vehicle. Occurred and worsened quickly and felt incredibly unsafe - like my breaks would give out at any minute. Break booster was replaced at Ford dealership, but not covered under "Customer Satisfaction Program" extended warranty #13N02. I was six months over the cut-off date. Not Happy.
