My brake pedal was not functioning correct. It was at times very soft, hitting the floor, and at other times difficult to push. A local shop replaced booster and master cylinder in an attempt to fix. Now brakes are locking up at random. Happened while going 70 mph with family in car and wheel was shaking and very unsafe. My year model (2013) is not included in the extended warranty for the brake booster (13N02) anymore since it was made in March of 2013. Any edges made in April of 2013, just one month later, are covered until 2025 by the customer satisfaction program extended warranty.

Yes, the vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The vehicle is hard to brake and travels a further distance before stopping, the brake is hard to press and stop the vehicle. This has been confirmed by my private mechanic No, it has not been inspected by the manufacturer I heard a hissing noise and the car stalled out at a complete stop when the brakes were pressed down Reached out to Ford and they said there is no recall for my vehicle but I have information from when I had my emission done provided by NHTSA of a recall MRF#13N02. Which I've provided a copy of down below.

The brake booster on my 2013 Ford Edge Sport has failed, leading to significantly reduced braking performance. This creates a dangerous condition requiring excessive force to stop the vehicle. Over the past few months, I have narrowly avoided multiple accidents due to the inability to stop safely at stoplights. On several occasions, I was forced to swerve off the road to avoid collisions. This issue was diagnosed by a certified mechanic, who informed me that brake booster failures are a known problem in this vehicle model. Although I was made aware of Ford's Customer Satisfaction Program 13N02, Ford's customer service indicated that the warranty had expired, and the dealership refused to repair the issue at no cost. As I cannot afford the repair myself, I am forced to continue driving the vehicle in its unsafe condition, putting my safety and the safety of others at risk.

1 month after replacing the break booster, the modules that control the ABS system went out. I have taken the vehicle to multiple mechanics and no one is able to get the part. They said Ford is no longer manufacturing the replacement. When I called the Ford dealership and tried to get it repaired, they said the part is on back order with no date for when it will be available. I am now forced to drive without ABS breaks and I worry about having to slam on my brakes and my car sliding out of control. I live in a very high traffic area and have to commute a lot on the interstates due to work.

Brake booster went out twice and had to be replaced both times ( Jan 2022 and Jan 2023). Now I have HCU failure and lost braking. ( Dec. 2024). I also had a drive Shaft failure for inspection ( Oct. 2024). My car has 60,000 miles on it. I contacted Ford Corporation and my Ford dealership and my Vin is not part of the recalls for any of these issues. However my model year and manufacturer location were part of a recall for all three of these systems. My car has been serviced by a Ford authorized dealer each time. My braking system continues to be unreliable and scary to drive.

If you hit a pot hole or a bump on the road the brake pedal makes a weird sound and then the brake goes all the way to the floorboard when trying to apply brakes and doesn't come to an immediate stop. The wrench light has come on or the symbol that has the car and wavy lines for traction control will turn on all of a sudden and then the car shuts off in the middle of the road while driving putting my life in danger. It also doesn't accelerate all of a sudden and loses power while driving putting my life in danger. When you put the car in park the car still jerks forward even after the car is in park and off. It also makes a clicking sound as if it goes into gear after you have turned the car off and park has been engaged. The headlights keep shutting off while driving or dimming in their own. The motormount screws came undone and I had to get it repaired. The power steering keeps losing the fluid and makes a loud grinding noise especially during cold weather. Makes a loud whistle sound like a turbo jet engine when it's cold and you start driving. The rear driverside door latch keeps making the car alert that the door is open when it is not. The recall only shows door latch for a different door and dealership won't repair with recall notice because the notice doesn't say all door latches and is specific to a different door. The car is unsafe to drive but it's the only car I have and the last time I took it to get repairs they kept it for a month and my it off pocket costs were close to $1600 dollars which put me in a financial strain. I can not afford to be without my car for that long again and pay for things that shouldn't be falling apart and putting my child's and my life in danger.

My brakes have become soft, and non reactive 3 times this year. Where normally you start braking and the brakes give resistance and slowly start braking as you push the pedal, now it feels like it releases and pushes to the floor before it starts breaking. I took it in twice already for repairs and last night the same thing has happened once again. The first incident happened around 7/13/24 then again 9/13/24 and now again 12/16/24. Master cylinder & booster replaced first two visits, have another visit scheduled tomorrow. I have taken it to a local place to be fixed each time, yet keeps happening.

Brake going to floor without resistance causing a longer breaking distance with my [XXX] daughter. Problem was intermittent initially, but I was able to confirm. Took to the local dealership that could not reproduce the problem, even though similar models had brake booster recalls referring to the same issues. I-??ll cut right to the facts. Last weekend my wife and I were driving on the highway in our 2013 Ford Edge [XXX] ed on the brake pedal as we neared our exit -?" WE WERE NOT SLOWING DOWN - we found ourselves with what seemed to be NO BRAKES again I repeat NO BRAKES. Immediately sheer panic hit me as I pushed the brake pedal to the floor and held it there. Luckily we were FINALLY able to stop without creating an accident. I-??ll fast forward to cause of the problem -?" A FAULTY BRAKE BOOSTER -?" Which was identified by Ford in their Customer Satisfaction Program13N02 -?" issued November 27,2013. Our vehicle was not was not included so we were not notified of any potential issue. As a result I not only got THE SCARE OF MY LIFE (and that-??s an understatement) BUT on top of that a $1,100 bill to replace a part that was clearly known to be defective. AND you put mine and my wife-??s life at risk, never mind any innocent people we may have hurt as a result of an accident. I currently have an few issues to report. When I press on the brakes, they make an air whistling sound and there-??s nothing noticeably wrong with them. I-??m also having problems with electrical on my screen and it won-??t always connect with my phone and it also delays on the screen when it-??s powering on or off. My tires have been leaking air since I purchased my vehicleand when I took it in, they said Ford mechanics said they sealed the valves but right when I got it back, it gave me a warning that I had low air pressure in my tires once again and my vehicle tires appeared like they were still low on air. I constantly have to fill them with air when I drive it. Every day they leak. But my biggest concern is the electrical and the brakes. I don-??t know the exact date on when the electrical started acting up. I-??m also curious if there-??s been a recall on anything to do with the defrost on the windows because my windows do not defrost very well in our cold climate. I-??m also wondering about the headlights. They seem like they-??re not bright enough we-??re just strange because they-??re clear and there-??s nothing obstructing them that-??s noticeable. For safety I believe they should be a lot brighter than they are. I have not been in any car accidents and no one hit my vehicle.

The contact stated that the brake pedal was depressed to the floor and the brake pedal was stiff. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with a failed ABS and brake booster. The contact was informed that the ABS and the brake booster needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. In addition, the contact stated that the failure had been present for a year, however, the brakes were replaced and the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact was informed that the repair was not covered under the Customer Satisfaction Program 13N02, which had a similar failure description. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline and report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 125,000.

I constantly heara hissing sound when breaking. Sometimes my break pedal goes all the way down inorder to stop. My Abs light comes on. I have had it repaired once. Its happened again. I'm being told it's the break booster and needs repair once again. This is a severe safety issue. It's a constant issue with hydraulic or breaks, including break booster.

My vehicle's brakes went completely soft, brake pedal to the floor. This is because of the "customer relationship program", aka the recall that apparently is not a recall. The issue is the "Brake Booster", where there is a small tear in the diaphragm responsible for braking. There was no warning and the problem has been reproduced multiple times according to online forums.

The brake booster has failed. When I depress the brake pedal it pushes almost to the floor before any braking occurs. The car is still able to brake, but this slight delay can pose a risk to safety if the car needs to be slowed quickly. The problem occurs constantly during driving. I have brought the care to the dealership to see if it was covered under the 13N02 customer satisfaction program, but they said my VIN indicated it was not. This problem is described exactly the same in the 13N02 recall and I believe my vehicle should be covered. There have been no warning lamps or signals for this issue.
