The headlights have been a porblem from day one. We changed them to a brighter bulb and we cant seem to get them adjusted. Door ajar has been replaced on the right rear and now is doing the same thing on the right front passenger door. Now the brake pedal seems "hard" when we push it and I have seen recalls for the brake booster yet it shows our Edge has no recalls. We will be taking it to our mechanic to be checked.

In my experience, as I was driving the vehicle in July of 2021, I pressed on the brake pedal with my foot and the vehicle did not stop. I rolled directly into an intersection. Thankfully I was not traveling at a high rate of speed and no one was coming in the opposite direction. This could have 100% caused a serious accident. I feel extremely lucky that it did not. I have 2 young children that were in the vehicle. There was absolutely no prior warning that there was any issue with the brakes or anything else for that matter. According to the independent service center that the vehicle was taken to, the problem was confirmed to be a faulty Brake Booster. The Brake Booster was replaced for a total cost of $743.81 including parts and labor which I paid for out of my pocket. I am the second owner of this vehicle which I purchased in earlier in 2021. At the time of the repair I was not aware of the fact that Ford Motor company had issued an extended warranty for the Brake Booster (which has since expired). I only found this out in August 2023 when I brought my vehicle in for inspection. I have tried to contact Ford Motor Co regarding this issue and I have requested a reimbursement for the parts and labor which has been denied (even though the repair was made within the extended warranty period). I am strongly suggesting that this part be RECALLED as it presents a serious life safety concern that Ford Motor Co is obviously aware of.

My vehicle on paper would qualified for the Ford Customer Satisfaction Program 13N02 for brake booster replacement. Not sure why VIN is not coming up under the program. I have a 2013 Edge and just had a brake booster failure with delayed braking (not sure when the vehicle would come to a stop) and hissing when brake pedal is pressed. I took it to a Ford affiliated repair shop for diagnostic and found brake booster "inoperable". Other 2013 Edge vehicles assembled at the same factory in the same year were included in the replacement program. I have attempted to contact local Ford dealerships and Ford corporate with no response. This extension of warranty was 10 years or 150,000 mile. I purchased the vehicle January 2014 as a new car.

* Brake booster failure. * Ford posted a letter dated 1/9/14; it-??s a Customer Satisfaction Program (CSP) 13N02 for -??certain-?? 2010-2013 Edge and MKX vehicles; an extended warranty coverage for brake boosters. * Vehicles covered; -??certain-?? vehicles built at the Oakville Assembly Plant from 5/3/10-3/28/13. * The program extends the coverage of the brake booster to 10 years of service or 150,000 miles from the warranty start date of the vehicle, whichever occurs first; it is a one time repair program. * Reason for additional coverage; brake booster may develop a small tear in the diaphragm; if this happens there is a -??hissing-?? noise when the brake pedal is depressed and there is also a -??spongy-?? pedal feel. * Service action; dealers will replace the brake booster at no charge. Details about my 2013 Edge: * It was built in Nov 2013 at the Louisville Assembly Plant. * I purchased it in April 2014; a little over 9 years ago. * It has almost 77,200 miles. * My brake booster has a -??hissing-?? noise and a -??spongy-?? pedal. Why does this CSP extended warranty only cover vehicles built at the Oakville Plant and not other plants" I -??assume-?? my Edge has the same brake booster in it as the ones built in Oakville. That-??s the only reason mine is not covered. Ford obviously knows they had problems with these brake boosters but only provided the extended warranty to vehicles built at the Oakville Plant. Why? I think it should cover ALL brake boosters from the manufacturer who made the ones for Oakville regardless of where the vehicle was built. What difference does it make where a vehicle was built if it has a defective brake booster" Please review and assess the situation and advise at your earliest convenience. Thank you. While driving on 2 lane highway coming to a Stop sign, brake pedal depressed all the way to the floor without fully stopping vehicle. There was a hissing sound when depressing the pedal. Had to implement the emergency parking brake in order to stop completely. There were no warning lights and this has not happened before. I drove it home with hazard lights on and at every stop I pumped the brakes, heard the hissing sound but pedal goes to floor. When got home I checked brake fluid reservoir, it was full. I do not see any fluid leaks on driveway. I checked a Ford forum and see many incidents like this described, too many. Apparently this is a known issue by Ford and there is a TSB 13N02 (brake booster). This could have been a horrible incident if there had been other cars in the intersection.

I have a 2013 ford edge and I was driving at 40=45 mph and when I came up to a light the brake peddle went to the floor and was very hard to stop. The result was me having to leave the road to the right to avoid a collision. I took it to ford who stated it needed a brake booster and said my vehicle doesn't qualify for an extended warranty on the booster. Car had 88k miles at time of incident.prior to the incident no lights or signs. After this I hear a loud hissing noise from under dash.

Since first purchasing the vehicle from Larry H. Ford in Mesa, AZ in 2019 and returning it for repair due to inoperable brakes, the issue has returned time and time again. It is now happening again where I either have to either press the brake peddle completely to the floor or the vehicle will not come to a complete stop at all. This has become extremely costly and I would like to know if this is an issue specifically associated with the 2013 Ford Edge and find some resolve.

The abs module has gone bad numerous times and is in a shop again for the third time in two month. I've havent been able to drive my car for two months at first it was the master cylinder and then the abs unit and then the brake booster and now the new abs unit again! After extensive research my husband and I found that this is very common in my vechile model but not enough cars to be issued a recall. Which I think is a massive safety issue because your brakes are very important. If your brakes fail you, you could not only injure yourself and your passengers but others around you. Right now my vehicle is at my local ford dealership and they also agree that this is a very common problem and ford isn't recalling them and making customers pay thousands of dollars for the new part and service. I was even told some times you don't get a working abs unit and have to keep going through the service part warranty until you get a good one. Which I feel causes more lost time with my vehicle staying in the shop until I get a good one.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and approaching a stop light, the brake pedal was depressed but was extremely firm. The brakes failed to respond as needed. The driver placed both feet on the brake pedal and the vehicle stopped. The contact pulled over, and her husband drove the vehicle to the residence. The contact stated that while her husband was driving at an undisclosed speed, the failure recurred. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that the brake booster needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but no assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 151,049.

Three times over the past month I have experienced a soft brake pedal that would go all the way to the floor and the vehicle would fail to stop normally. The first two (2) times where at low speed approaching a gas pump. More frighteningly the third time was at 45 MPH with my young daughter in the vehicle and evasive maneuvers had to be mad to avaoid a collision. After the first time I had the brake pads changed. Earlier on the day of the third incident my vehicle was at a national service center for a brake inspection, because of the alarm from the second incident, and no issue was found. The issue is completely random with no noise, dash lights, warning, or indication of impending failure at all. I have read multiple accounts of 2013 Ford Edge drivers with accounts matching mine detail for detail. Reports of multiple brake booster and master cylinder replacements and HCU replacements with no success. This is extremely dangerous and will eventually result in the loss of life for someone. This needs to be addressed by Ford via recall immediately.

With no warning lights or other apparent issues brake pressure suddenly disappeared resulting in the brake pedal sinking to the floorboard before the vehicle would even slow down or stop. This first happened in September 2022. The issue can better be described in both NHTSA Complaints 11339440 and 11343191. The brake master cylinder was replaced. It worked until May 2023 and I am now having the same issue. There is almost no brake pressure. The problem has yet to be resolved. This is a very serious safety risk for both the passengers of this vehicle and others on the road. It is almost impossible to come to a full stop within a few seconds.

The brakes failed to function with no warning whatsoever! The pedal immediately went to the floor with no result. This would have cause an accident had we not been on an empty road with no traffic. The vehicle is available for inspection. The is a HUGE risk to the safety of my family and other drivers and pedestrians who might be struck by a vehicle that cannot stop. This can definitely result in severe injuries or death. The vehicle was taken to a repair shop where the problem could not be duplicated, even though they tried by slowly driving the vehicle for 2 days. For precautions sake, the rotors and pads were replaced and the brake system components checked and fluid bled. We then took the vehicle back and drove it for about a week in various traffic situations without incident. Today, the same failure occurred. By shear grace of God, we were on a road with no traffic again! I have now been reading all the reports on this NHTSA site and am extremely concerned that NHTSA has not forced a recall. This is clearly a repetitive and frequent issue. with Ford Edge vehicles! DO SOMETHING NOW BEFORE SOMEONE DIES OR IS SERIOUSLY INJURED. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. This first appeared April, 2023.

My 2013 Ford Edge is making a hissing noise when the brakes are applied. It has been a few months; I-??ve tried to brush it off that it was just my imagination because my brakes are working (for now), there is nothing leaking, but now there is also a jerk feeling. As I-??m driving and then slow down, somewhere between 35-40 mph, there is a little jerk or -??hiccup-?? feeling. I have noticed that sometimes the pedal feels hard to press. I-??m worried what is going on will eventually cause my brakes to fail and cause injury. Nothing has been inspected yet, but I did research and see that there is a recall for this exact problem. However, I have not received anything in the mail regarding this. I looked up my VIN and found there are 0 recalls for my vehicle. I believe that my vehicle should be included in this recall.
