Shift to Park warning light comes on even though the car is in park. This component or system failure is known to ford dealers but they state that it is not on the recall listing. It should be because this is a known issue with ford on the 2013 Ford Edge. It requires the whole shifting assembly to be replaced at the cost of the owner and not the dealership. My car is available for inspection. I have reported this to the Ken Garff St George Ford/Lincoln service and it should be in my file. THis should be a recall issue and not replaced at the cost of the owner

The Brake Booster continually fails on this vehicle. It is part of a much larger issue that Ford has acknowledged. On more than 30 occasions the brake booster has failed causing the brakes to fail. The latest happened today (03/30/23) when I had to brake hard to avoid a near head-to-head collision. This time, when the brakes failed I had to swerve into oncoming traffic, then back into my lane after passing the vehicle that came into our lane from a cross street. We were going UNDER the speed limit, which is 45MPH at that intersection. I was finally able to stop after using the manual shifting option to downshift and slow the car enough that the brakes would actually work. The pedal went to the floor when I had to hit the brakes hard to try and avoid the oncoming vehicle. When I contacted Ford I was asking about: Extended warranty coverage on brake booster Campaign# 13N02 I was told by Ford that this vehicle is not covered under this campaign, even though it states that the vehicle must be no more than 10 years old (it is a 2013 vehicle, AND sold as a 2013 vehicle by description from Ford Motor Company) and it is under the 150,000 mile limit. There are a LOT of people that are facing this issue as well, ergo the campaign from Ford. THEY recognize that this is an issue - this should be a recall, not some sort of campaign that Ford is using to try and avoid one. The three of us nearly lost our live THIS time when the brakes failed. How many people WILL die before this actually becomes a recall" The same should be said of the Ford Campaign #19N09 - Door latch failure. The door could come open while driving under this campaign. These should be recalls that Ford MUST fix. Please do not let my Granddaughter get into a crash because of this. She is our ward because of Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Scoliosis and other issues that she faces in life. Isn't that enough for her to deal with? What is this was YOUR Granddaughter? Would it be a recall then"

Upon occasion brakes go all the way to the floor and require pumping to get them to work. This does not happen on a regular basis but if the car is not driven eg overnight brake failure will happen 50% of the time. Once pumped up then everything will be ok. Except if we are are on a long trip with few stops or need to break, then the problem will re-occur. No leakage that we could find. The Ford dealer that we bought the EDGE, - new and always had it serviced could find no fault. A week or so ago I took it to another dealer. The Ford service manager, drove it around for 30-40 minutes, I was with him. A minor failure did occur. They kept it for additional days and determined front calibers was most likely the problem. I believe that our EDGE VIN number should be included with the rest of t;he 2013 Edge break problems and that Ford should pay for the repair.0

Brake pedal was slow to engage, had to push almost to the floor board. Car only has 60,000 miles. Repair shop stated it needed a new master cylinder. After replacing, still no good brake pressure due to inability to properly bleed the brake lines. After the 2nd master cylinder was installed, we were told the pressure regulator for the hydraulic brake lines was also bad. The repair shop stated through research, they have found that the Ford Edge has chronic problems with this issue. This is a costly repair, well over $2,000. Not to mention extremely dangerous to have almost zero brake pedal response.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the pedal became "spongy" and made an abnormal sound. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the mechanic related the failure to Technical Service Bulletin: 13N02 (Brake Booster). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 211,500.

- Component/system malfunctioning: Brake system (Master Cylinder) randomly loses pressure from the master cylinder causing the brake pedal to collapse to the floor causing severe safety concerns with little to no brakes without warning. Yes, vehicle is available for inspection. - Our Safety and the safety of others is at risk due to brakes not working properly at all times due to a known issue with this vehicle models master cylinder. - The problem has been addressed and confirmed by service tech. No external brake system leakage and the TSB is to replace the master cylinder at owners cost. No warranty or recall!!! - There have been NO warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the intermittent failure.

Total brake failure, no warning lights, no messages. No issues the day before, then total brake failure the next day. Fluid levels were within margin and no leaks. We replaced the master cylinder, this did not fix the problem. Then we replaced the ABS pump module and it helped but the mechanic shop could not bleed the brake system correctly so we took it to a Ford Dealership and they were able to bleed the brake system correctly and now we have brakes. We have a total of $2300 into this fix which was excessive. No recalls for brakes issues for this vehicle from Ford.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Edge. The contact stated while attempting to depress the brake pedal, the brake pedal made a hissing sound and went to the floorboard and then became firm. The braking distance was extended. The contact had to pump the brake pedal to stop the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who diagnosed that the brake booster failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the failure was related to NHTSA ID Number: 10054925000 (Service Brakes). The failure mileage was unknown.

My 2013 ford edge (SE, 3.5L) the brake suddenly went down with absolutely no warning or lights indicating a problem. Press very hard and almost down to the floor to stop my car. Very dangerous! I thus sent the car to ford dealership (Dean Seller Ford, Troy MI), was told the brake booster is down and have to fix it immediately because I cannot drive without the trustable brake. Finally cost me $904 out of door. I then found there is a recall (Bulletin 13N02) that recalls exactly the same issue of brake booster on ford edge cars from 2007 to 2015, it also extends the warranty of booster to 10 years and 150k miles. My 2013 ford edge only have 79000 miles why my car is not covered under that? This could be a very serious safety issue due to the problem of the brake!!

The brake pedal goes to the floor before the brakes engage even a little bit. Almost rear-ended another vehicle due to the brake failure. Took it to the repair shop 3 times for repair. They bled the brakes several times which helped for a day and the problem returned each time. This has the potential to cause a severe accident if it is not resolved. Internet articles I've read and my personal experience indicate that replacing the master cylinder, brake booster or bleeding the brakes does not solve the problem. What is my option for a next step?

Brake pedal unexpectedly goes to the floor and brakes fail to stop the vehicle. Problem is intermittent and unpredictable. After having master cylinder and brake booster replaced at owner's expense, brakes failed completely at 113k miles. Dealer now says the Hydraulic Control Unit must be replaced. This is a dangerous issue and should be investigated. We are extremely lucky that nobody was hurt when brakes failed.

In July 2022, brakes gave out twice, pedal going all the way to the floor; hard to stop. Then it mysteriously went away. Happened again in November 2022. Found out Ford issued an extended warranty (13N02) on a faulty brake booster. Took it to Galpin Ford. They replaced the booster under this warranty. Yesterday, 12/12/22, we had a bit of snow, wife drove the car, almost crashed as brake failure yet again! Took it back to Galping Ford who says 'they cannot find anything wrong'. That's BS! This Edge has less than 70,000 miles and is driven by a middle age female (not being aggressively driven). We bought this vehicle used from Galpin Ford and they DID NOT inform us of this problem. Now we have a dangerous car to drive; I can't sell it or I'm liable! There is NO recourse for us owners and we are paying the price (both financially and with our lives) because NHSTA has failed to issue a recall. Get these cars fixed or off the road! Owners should not have to bear this financial burden.

9/15/2022 paid $875.90 for brake booster, two weeks later, ABS module going out, according to Moyer Ford, as of 12/01/2022, I-??ve called Ford Complaint and they fail to add my vin number, says only nhtsa can do that. As of today, 12/01/2022, Moyer ford is telling me abs modules are on back order with no ETA. Ford knows this is major brake issue but not addressing it! Now when abs part does come in, that-??s another $800 out of my pocket, total of $1700 that Ford is ignoring and don-??t even have the parts to fix! Major concern!

While driving my 2013 Ford Edge Sport down the highway at 60mph the traffic light changed to yellow and then red as normal. When I went to apply the brakes the brake pedal suddenly lost pressure and went to the floor before the vehicle was able to stop. By this time I was in the middle of the intersection. By some miracle I was able to avoid a potentially serious accident as luckily no cars were in the intersection. The brakes were fine one moment and then no brakes the next with no warning lights or error codes. The brakes haven-??t changed since then. Still no pressure and I-??m afraid the drive the vehicle. My vehicle has yet to be inspected/diagnosed, but after doing extensive research online I-??ve found that this is a very common problem with the ABS system. Apparently the valves get stuck open allowing fluid to flow freely past them and the system needs replaced. How is this not a safety issue. I-??ve read that so many people have almost been in serious accidents were death could potentially occur. I don-??t understand why this has not been recalled. The brake fluid is at normal level and the brake booster was previously replaced by Ford a couple years ago. In that instance the brake pedal was very hard and the vehicle would not respond to braking. That issue was fixed by Ford on their dime and I was told it was some secret or unpublished recall on certain vehicles, depending on where they were manufactured. This is gross negligence on Fords part and can-??t wait for someone to sue the pants off them.
