I have been having trouble stopping my vehicle. I thought it was just time for a brake replacement so I had them changed at Firestone and I was told that was only part of the problem. I was told my car was showing a recall for my brake booster part through Ford and that the dealership would have to fix it. I've called multiple Ford dealerships and also customer service and they are all telling me there are no recalls attached to my VIN. After calling back Firestone I was told they still could not fix it because my VIN was still showing them a recall for the brake booster. I called Ford customer service to tell them and was told there was nothing else to do because my VIN was not showing a recall. I am having to continue driving unsafely in my car. The recall number I was given is 13N02.

i BOUGHT MY CAR USED FROM DEALERSHIP WHEN I WAS ABOUT TO HAVE MY BABY. SUV WAS FINE UP UNTIL A FEW MONTHS AGO. I WAS DRIVING AND MY BREAK PEDAL WAS MAKING A SQUEEKING, SQUEALING SOUND EVERYTIME MY FOOT WAS ON THE PEDAL. NO MATTER WHAT IT MADE THAT NOISE ENTIRE TIME WHILE DRIVING DAY IN AND OUT. THE BREAK PEDAL WOULD EITHER BE VERY LOOSE TO THE FLOOR OR EITHER IT WOULD BE SO HARD I COULD NOT PUSH IT DOWN. IVE ONLY HAD VEHICLE 5 YRS AND JUST REPLACED BREAKS. NOW I HAVE TO USE BOTH FEET TO PUSH DOWN ON BREAK PEDAL TO STOP. MY CHILD ISN'T SAFE SO I DRIVE SLOW EVERYWHERE NOW. MECHANIC WHO DID BREAK PADS SAID IT WAS THE BOOSTER GOING OUT. SAID FORD HAS SO MANY PROBLEMS AND ISSUES HAPPENING WITH BREAKS/BOOSTER/MASTER CYLENDER. I AM A SINGLE MOM WHO DOES NOT HAVE MONEY FOR COSTLY REPAIRS LIKE THIS. I JUST PAID OFF IN FULL THIS VEHICLE AND NOW THINKING I COULD HAVE USED THAT MONEY NOW FOR THIS PROBLEM. MY VEHICLE IS ONLY 9 YRS OLD. I NEED A MIRACLE. THIS SHOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF BY FORD AND A RECALL ISSUED FOR BREAK ISSUES INCLUDING BOOSTER AND MASTER CYINDER.

On occasion the brake pedal would go to the floor. It has been very unsafe because at first it might happen only once every 2 months. After several times of happening, took to dealer and diagnosed with a abs control assembly bad. Been told 2400 of abs module are on backorder. Cannot drive car and has been at dealership for 2 months. If there are that many of this component on backorder, Ford should be issuing a recall due to real safety issues with vehicle.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Edge. The contact stated while his wife was driving 55 MPH and depressing the brake pedal, there was an abnormal noise before the brake pedal became rigid. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the braking distance was extended while depressing the brake pedal. The contact took the vehicle to local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the brake booster to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with Manufacturer Communication Number: 13N02, however the VIN was not included. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 59,000.

Brakes started with a hissing noise, now they are super hard to push, I have to push them to the floor to get my car to stop. I'm scared to even drive my car as it takes a lot to get it to brake and god forbid if someone or thing jumps out in front of me I won't be able to stop quickly. Was told its the brake booster and its a known issue with the edge, so I dont understand why they haven't had a recall! I would have never bought this vehicle if I would have known i wouldn't be able to safely brake!

Brakes stopped worked. Brakes are spongy. Brake fluid started spewing. Per the ford recall with the brake hose, this should be included.

The vehicle has spongy brakes, it takes more time to stop. This problem is in crescendo and it has been affecting it for a while. You have to pump them to ascertain it will stop. I have seen other owners complaint about the same problem. My 2013 Ford Edge Eco Boost only has 55,993 miles several times we have verified that it does not consume brake liquid, pads are ok.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Edge. The contact stated while reversing out of a parking lot, the brake pedal needed to be depressed extremely hard to stop the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the power brake booster had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and the contact was transferred to the FTC. The failure mileage was 89,250.

The brake pedal is soft, and have to press to the floor to stop. It's full of fluid and has no leaks. This problem came up a couple of months ago and the fluid was a little low so I topped it off. It did it again today, but the fluid is full.

The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who replaced the brake master cylinder and bled the brake lines however, the failure persisted. The contact indicated that a Manufacturer-??s Campaign for the brake booster was also listed for the vehicle. The manufacturer was not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 77,000.

Brake pedal goes to floor and gives feeling it won't stop. Have taken car to Ford dealership 3 times and they replaced master cylinder, brake booster. It would only last a couple weeks then brake to floor again. Took it to another mechanic who had it for 2 weeks. He said he tried everything and can't fix it. The parking brake light won't go off along with the traction light and abs light. This Ford model is a money pit. Plastic pieces for wiper wash in hood disintegrated, door ajar is a constant frustration, and blue Ford emblem faded to ugly. The brake problem has been going on for 4 months now.

Brake line failure on braking to turn. Brakes totally did not function. Slowing down had to downshift and use parking brake to slow down and stop. Had 2 children in the car at the time. Had to have car towed to shop. Was out of state in rural Wisconsin. He verified that this was not normal and should never have failed. Have less than 56000 miles on car and garage kept. At mileage 99,229 I was told by the mechanic shop that the ABS hydraulic system needed to be replaced. I was having issues with the brakes not responding properly when coming to a stop and the brake pedals would have to be pushed down to the floor in order to come to a complete stop. This was indeed a safety concern for me. No warning signs appeared on my dash & even while using the system check option on the dash, it would read Brakes are ok.

The brakes got extremely weak and spongy and don't slow car down fast enough, the master cylinder in the brake booster causes this issue, the 2013-2014 F-150 trucks had the same issue as the 2013-2014 Ford edge.

While making a right turn and using the brakes at the same time, the brake pedal goes to the floor all at once. Then I pretty much have no braking at all. Goes to the floor and slowly comes to a stop.It went to 4 different shops because none of them could find a problem. No warning lights on dash. No codes showing up. Brakes bled, booster and master cylinder replaced and it still went to the floor. My insurance was contacted and the booster had extended warranty. I watched videos on Youtube and saw where mechanics found out it was due to the ABS pump unit. Valves are sticking inside this $500 part. I went in reverse about 15 mph and slammed the brakes, the pedal came back up and felt fine for a few months. It has now happened again and I cannot get the pedal to return this time. I am retired, disabled and on a fixed SS income with no savings and cannot get this fixed without getting a loan. Personally, I think this should be a recall, because if you research Edge forums and Youtube you'll find it happens a LOT. I love my Edge and want to keep it, but not without brakes. I've been driving it scared and real slow just to go to appointments. It's dangerous, but I have no other way. The ABS module is at fault. If I were younger I could tackle this myself and save labor cost, but I have COPD and NSCLC, on oxygen. Please, research this.

i would come to a stop and all of a sudden i would have to press all the way down on brakes to the floor for the car to stop. I took the car and got the master cylinder replaced. 5/2/2002 and now on 6/22/2022 the brakes did not work again, so i took back to machanic, he then checked the brake pads, brake oil all was working fine. There are no codes on the dash. I am very worried if I am on the freeway this could happen and I get in a serious accident. I did call the ford dealer here in town and just to diagnose they charge $160
