There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the brake booster, front brake pads, and brake master cylinder had failed and needed to be replaced. The brake booster, front brake pads, brake master cylinder, and approximately six other parts had been replaced. The brake pedal had become loose, causing the brake pedal to depress lower than before. The vehicle had been taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the rear brake shoes had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle had been repaired. The brake pedal had gradually become more loose almost going to the floor. The vehicle had been returned to the independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the ABS module had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not under recall. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 91,000.
