Door ajar light stays on, faulty sensor does not read when the door is shut. Lights stay on and warning prompt appears on dash while driving with alarm. Vehicle mileage 51,000.

Door ajar sensor. It stays on at all times. It kills my car battery and now im on my 2nd new battery. I cant back up or drive safe at night because the interior light stays on. I cant lock my doors while driving or parked because it says door ajar.

Door ajar warning comes on, even when door is shut. This prevents the doors from locking and they can only be locked manually, the dome lights will never go off and eventually the battery dies, and the ac will only blow cold on 1 setting. It will not blow heat. The keypad will not let the vehicle lock when the warning is on. This happens when the car is moving or stationary, and intermittently. Sometimes it doesn't happen, sometimes I have to shut the door 20 times to get it to lock properly with the lights off.

Driver side door ajar alarm continues to go off, my doors will not lock, dome light stays on which is distracting and unsafe, when slowing down to stop, alarm goes off to "put car in park", which is distracting. Exterior lights and inside instrument panel stays lit up after car turned off, has drained my battery. This has been going on for 1.5 years.

The "driver door ajar" light does not turn off when you close the door. It will remain on the entire time the vehicle is being driven. The lights will stay on when you are not in the vehicle and when driving at night. Unable to lock the doors from the keypad because the vehicle thinks the door is still open. The horn beeps twice when you try to lock the vehicle with the key fob indicating that the door is open. The radio will also remain on after you exit the vehicle and lock the doors.

Door ajar light on dash continues to stay lit after door is closed. This creates an issue as the door locks will not engage when the vehicle is running.

The door ajar light is continually on, rarely does the door shut and the light goes off. This leaves the interior lights on extended periods of time and is a safety issue as the door is not secure. The car does this both when stationary and in motion.

Door ajar light remained lit on dashboard as well as interior lights illuminated. Happened sometimes once door was shut and vehicle still in park causing me to have to try multiple times to get sensor to register properly and would happen sometimes shortly after taking off and getting up to speed on city streets, or shortly after I would get up to 10 mph causing the auto lock feature to activate and door ajar light would illuminate. Also was able to get sensor to register door would be shut and I would climb out the passenger side door and back in later, not opening driver door afterwards and would get door ajar light when vehicle was started. Taken to dealership for repairs and was told it was determined to be caused by faulty instrument cluster. Dealer replaced cluster and still had issue with door ajar remaining lit shortly after getting back home.

The "door ajar" warning light and bell stays on after the door is shut. This happened on my Edge in January 2015. I took it to the Ford dealer, and first they adjusted the door latch. That only lasted a couple of months. When I took it back, the dealer said that Ford told them the latch would have to be replaced. The bill to replace the latch was $132.08, which I paid. That fixed my problem. I saw on the news today that this is a problem you are investigating, and I wanted you to know my situation.

Door ajar light for drivers door will intermittently stay on when door is closed. As a result the overhead lights go on obstructing drivers vision at night. Additionally it is impossible to lock the doors when this condition exists. When driving an irritating message comes on saying to shift to park and close door which are already closed. This appears to be a bad design flaw which creates a dangerous situation for occupants of the vehicle. The dealerships charge somewhere in the neighborhood of $450 to replace assembly which in some cases still does not correct the problem. This is a safety issue that Ford needs to address in a recall.

The car is at 50,000 and the drivers side door ajar signals the door is open and it is not. This is a safety issue because the doors do not automatically lock as they should. Also, it causes the dome lights to stay on and other sensors to come on when the car is at a stop light or stop sign. Due to this being an issue read about widely Ford should issue a recall to fix this.
