Driver side door latch warning even when door is latched and closed properly. Have already taken it to dealer for a "fix" approximately 1 year ago, and now it started again. Door open sensor stays on, dome light stays on and doors cannot be locked.

Door ajar switch is is inoperable, which prevents the doors from being locked when the car is underway. It also causes the lights throughout the vehicle to stay on (illuminated) at all times causing a tremendous drain on the battery, leading to repeated battery replacement (which in itself an environmental concern). Ford knows this switch is inferior and still they refuse to recall it.

Door ajar latch/sensor continues to stick which keeps the door ajar light on and keeps the interior lights and park lights on after turning off car, closing door, and locking car. Interior lights and park lights are hard to notice during daylight hours and this results in draining battery which leaves the owner stranded. This happens repeatedly!

2013 Ford Edge has a continual problem where door sensors on 2 of 4 doors indicate that the door is ajar, when it is actually closed. The interior lights come on (and stay on) when starting the car or when driving at low speed, which is dangerous, particularly as it interferes with night vision. The doors won't lock due to this warning message. The driver's door is affected by this sensor problem, which also causes a bell warning that the door is ajar, and repeated dash warnings to put the car in park. Repeatedly slamming the door closed temporarily helps, sometimes. The driver's door sensor was fixed (but not replaced) while the car was under warranty. The problem returned within a few months. When I took it in the second time, I had the driver's door sensor cleaned (the dealer wanted almost $400 for this, but reduced it to $260 after my complaint, vs $500 to replace each sensor) which was helpful for less than 2 months. This is a dangerous, known problem with these defective door sensors that is highly distracting for drivers, which interferes with night vision, and the ability to lock the car doors while driving. The Ford dealer acknowledged that this is a known problem, but will not repair it for free (no recall issued). These door sensor errors happen every time I drive this vehicle currently (80,500 miles), whereas it was a frequent yet intermittent problem from about 30,000 to 60,000 miles. The interior lights come on when starting the car, as they should, then the warning messages come on on the dash, and both the lights and the warnings stay on when driving at low speeds. Sometimes the interior lights and warnings will come on while driving at normal speeds, for no apparent reason; when this happens at night, it is very dangerous. Ford needs to recall this part and protect drivers.

Door ajar light stays lit on even when the door is shut causing interior light to stay on as well! causing battery to drain. First time it happened (12/8/14), went to dealership and had to pay to have it fixed, Ford split the cost. Second time it happened 2/28/16; if I have to pay to get it fixed again, will sell it and never buy another Ford!

Door ajar sensor not functioning properly. The driver's door incorrectly states that the door is ajar at all times. This causes the interior lights to stay on initially when driving, or exiting car. Car beeps and flashes a warning which is distracting/dangerous. Car will not lock while driving. This is related to the ongoing investigation, I just wanted to add that my vehicle started experiencing this about a month ago. The problem was intermittent at first, but is now continuous.

The "passenger door ajar" sensor is defective, causing lights to stay on and preventing locking of the door.. doors can not be locked from driver side with "door ajar" light on, compromising safety and security.

When you get in the car and start the engine (while still in park) the driver door ajar warning light comes on even when the door is securely shut. We must open and reclose the door several times in order to get the warning light to go away.

I have been having a problem with the driver's door of my '13 Ford Edge limited indicating that it is ajar (warning and interior lights on) when it is not. In order for it to quit, I have to either very firmly close the door (slam it) or open and close it a few times until it senses that it is in fact fully closed. It is also draining my battery because when I exit the vehicle sometimes the interior lights stay on. There have been a few occasions that I had to jump start my car. The door ajar light stays on when the vehicle is parked and in motion.

02 vehicle keeps stalling when trying to accelerate. Leaving an intersection, in traffic, it will not go, is going to get me killed. Dealership is aware of problem and has not solved it. I look on internet and there are thousands with same problem

For the past several months I have been having a problem with a message telling me that the driver door is ajar. The message tells me to put the car in park and shut the door. After several tries to get the message off, sometimes it will work but most of the time I end up shutting and reshutting the door to get the message off. And while the message is on the interior lights stay on. Sometimes I spend hours trying to get the message off. I have been told that it is a sensor. This needs to be fixed. A recall must be made to take care of this problem. Also, in addition to the lights staying on, the doors will not lock. It is very annoying and not safe. Also, I am worried that the battery will run down. I am getting to the point that I don't even want to drive the car.

Driver side door ajar light remains on when all doors are closed. Doors will not lock, dome light comes on and warning sounds are constant when starting from a stopped or slow position.

Driver door ajar - comes on constantly. Recently had to get a new battery because the inside lights stay on. I put car in park as instructed and slam the door. It doesn't work very often. 90% of the time it doesn't work. Also this is a safety issue because the doors do not lock. If there are children in the car, they can open the door and fall out of the car. This car needs to be recalled. This happens all the time.

My driver door door ajar warning light stays on and because of this my interior lights stay on and my doors won't lock. After opening and closing the door several times sometimes it will go off. Other times I have to press the button on the steering wheel to get the lights to go off but the door ajar warning light will stay on. And when you do this every time you stop a warning light will go off telling you to put the car in park. This is a safety concern because the interior lights will interfere with your vision at night and another concern is the inability to lock the doors.
