problem #1

Edge Limited 6 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 83,885 miles

Steep incline or under a load transmission will not shift until taking foot off the gas, then speed slows and transmission needs to shift down again. Mountain passes are so inconvenient I rented a vehicle last time I took a trip. Also if I gun it from a stand still the transmission will not shift from 1st gear until letting off the gas.

Update from Mar 6, 2026: I replaced the 2013 Edge Limited with a 2017 Edge Titanium with same engine and transmission. The compression is much better/more power in the 2017 pulling up mountian passes without repeated downshifting and loosing speed. Running with high test gas helps also with more power through the long mountain highway inclines. This is my 3rd Ford Edge.
