This is the second time in a year that the brakes in our vehicle have stopped working. The pedal goes all the way to the ground and does not completely stop the car. We had the issue dealt with last year at the dealership where we had our vehicle towed to. It was only then that we were notified that there was a recall on the hose that may affect the brakes and other functions of the vehicle. It was replaced. This has now happened a second time while my husband and 2.5 year old were driving home. If he was not able to have some control over the vehicle he and my child could have been killed or someone else on the road. I called the dealership to let them know that the car would be towed again and told the issue. They confirmed we dealt with this same issue just one year ago and I asked why is this happening and this is so unacceptable as my family's safety is at risk. I asked if there are any recalls or issues with the make and model that we should be aware of. After looking up the vehicle she then informed us there was indeed a recall for the flex hose which could cause leaks and affect the brakes. The vehicle is currently at the dealership being inspected. Due to where the leak is coming from it seems to be the left side of the vehicle now which tells me the dealership only replaced one of the hoses and not both causing this to happen again. This is negligence and I am beyond frustrated at the thought of what could have happened and I don't think waiting until someone is killed is the right time to fix this issue. There were no warning lamps, messages or symptoms prior to the failure, it just happened while driving and trying to stop.

I got the recall letter early 2020, the fix was supposed to be availiable near the end of 2020 and here it is almost mid 2021 with no fix or another letter to schedule the fix. My brake pedal is travelling further than it should and it looks to be leaking brake fluid a bit on the ground

As I was pulling out of a parking spot my brake pedal went all the way to the floor board. I was traveling with my child at the time and being unsure of what was going on I drove the vehicle across a bridge back to my county to the closest repair facility I could get too. I had barely missed hitting the vehicle ahead of me since it would not stop all the way. After the tech checked it out, it was leaking brake fluid and the hose was busted. Had it towed to the Ford dealership since it should had been covered under warranty. Then found out it was a recall that we have never received any documentation about. This is unsatisfactory since it put myself and my child in danger.

Ford recall #20S42 - Ford issued this recall 8/10/2020 regarding a brake line(?) issue, over 8 months ago. In checking to have correction made I discovered that they do not have a remedy yet. If this is truly a safety issue regarding braking, should't Ford be pressured to determine a remedy? my vehicle is now 6 years old with 80,000 miles on it. I am concerned. If this is not a serious issue, then please reassure me that it really doesn't need a correction, and that we are not driving a mobile time bomb. Received a letter from Ford about recall indicating the issues with braking system and that we were supposed to be able to have the recall fixed first qtr 2021. Spoke to the local Ford dealer in marianna Florida (chipola Ford) and they indicated parts may not be available until July 2021 or whenever they receive them. This does not correlate to the NHTSA letter in which Ford indicated a qrt one recall fix. My recall is safety recall 20S42 / NHTSA recall 20V-469
