The contact owns a 2015 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while his daughter was driving at an unknown rate of speed, the brake pedal depressed to the floorboard but the vehicle did not reduce in speed; therefore, she was forced to apply her emergency brake to stop the vehicle. The contact was uncertain if any warning lights appeared on the instrument panel. Due to the failure, his daughter had the vehicle towed to veterans Ford(7201 w linebaugh ave, tampa, fl 33625) where they replaced her master brake cylinder as well as her brake line. The contact then received a recall notice for NHTSA campaign number: 20V469000(service brakes, service brakes, hydraulic) however the parts for the repair were unavailable. Later on, the contact's daughter experienced the failure for a second time and again had the vehicle towed back to the same dealer where they linked her failure to the recall; however, the parts still remained unavailable. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was given a case number. The vehicle had yet to be repaired and remained in the possession of the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 87,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

Manufacturer recall number 20S42. Brake fluid may leak from one or both frontbrake flexible hoses. Parts are anticipated to beavailable 4th quarter 2020. Safety risk you may experience an increase in pedal travel together with a reduction inthe rate of deceleration, increasing the risk of a crash. Ased on the fact that there is in increased risk of acrash Ford has missed the timing of parts available and has offered no loaner car based on their deliquency. I find this tobe unacceptable and puts my family at risk of a crash for atime outside of the notice posted on NHTSA's web site.

The front brakes are extremely touchy, periodically when coming to a stop. When you just immediately touch the brakes it low-speed the car comes to a jerking stop. I read online there is a recall due to some improper software being installed during the timeframe my car was manufactured. I would think this could absolutely contribute to the problem. Ever since I purchased a vehicle I've complained to the dealer and they told me there's no problem. I am a professional driver, I drive for work I've driven over 2,000,000 miles in my life and I know what I'm having brake issues. I went to the dealer about the online notification and they told me the only recall is for brake hoses and they have nothing for anti-lock software issues. Could somebody please clear this up for me as I can't even use this vehicle to teach my daughters how to drive because the brakes are so unpredictably touchy. Meeting sometimes they're fine and other times they are not, usually when you least expect it. Thank you

My breaks are super sensitive. Just tapping the break at slow speeds will cause it to lock up the breaks. At high speeds it is a little better but still have to constantly adjust the amount of pressure applied to avoid skid/ABS from kicking in. Brought to dealer for repairs and they replaced break booster part B. that did not correct the issue. Has been like this since I bought it in 2019. I was told "it was a break flap". no such thing. My brother has a vehicle from same manufacturer same year different make and the master cylinder was recalled and that corrected his issue. Having breaks that you can't trust is a horrible feeling even worse heading into winter. Is this a common issue for 2015 Ford Edges? because this is leaving me with bad feelings toward Ford mortor company.

While driving 9/10/2020 on local street approx 35mph brake pedal went to floor, needed to pump brakes to slow down. Replaced brake line at Mr. Tire. This was left rear brake line that ruptured. Vehicle was at Ford dealer for brake check 8/6/2020 and passed inspection. On 12/8/2019 same thing happened to left front brake. Ford issued a recall today on front brake line. I called and was told I should receive recall letter in a few weeks for front brake line. I feel uncomfortable driving a car with defective brakes. No resolution as of today. Called Ford dealer & hotline and was told to wait for letter before taking action.

Service advance trac light, hill start assist, traction control, wrench light, airbag light and break light all come one simultaneously. Gets stuck on parking break while in park and power steering goes out while driving. Spent over $700 with local for dealership trying to fix it. After it being in the shop the for 3 weeks the same thing started happening a few hours after pickup. The dealership claims that Ford knows about the issue but their isn't just a one all fix all. Other Ford models has had the same issues in the past and had recalls on them. Need this issue fixed!! it's been like this since the day that I purchased it (8/13/2019) from the big red Kia in norman.

Booster brake defect. There is a recall but my VIN # is not on the list. It should be. I had my car towed to the dealership for repair. The brakes delayed stopping my car. I could not drive it. My car VIN should be added to the recall. I am going to have to pay for repair because it is not added to the recall list but the problem is there. I should not have to pay for this repair. If my VIN is added later, will I be reimbursed ? when I press the brake the pedal is hard. The vehicle slows but does not stop when it should. If you pump the brake it sounds like the rotors sound when brake pads are bad. The car pops and scrubs, jerks to a stop. When coming up to a stop sign or red light the car takes longer to stop so you have to brake sooner. I took to dealership, parts where ordered to repair. Still waiting to see if I have to pay!

Grabbing brakes - known brake booster issue - brakes grab a low speeds and if you don't relax your foot on the brake pedal the brakes could lock up causing an unsafe condition. The following information is referenced - NHTSA #10081005. In some cases via forum comments, the brake booster was replaced and the problem was solved however, this is not applied consistently across Ford dealership service departments (autonation Ford littleton). This has been an ongoing issue since we purchased the vehicle new at the dealership noted above

2015 Ford Edge with 45, 250 miles. I was driving along and went to apply my brakes. The pedal went to the floor. I was approaching a red light. I pumped and pumber to slow down. At that time, the brake light and the low brake fluid lights came on. I had no brakes. I had to pull the electric barking brake up to stop. I had to travel a little ways more and make a U-turn in the middle of a 4 lane busy, major highway, in order to get to a shopping center parking lot. There again no brakes - had to use my electric parking. I was so afraid. I am just thankful I thought of the hand brake, which almost threw us in the windsheild. It was such a hard stop. I called roadside assistance to get the car and tow the dealership. They have verified, brake line busted on my car. It has a split in it. I purchased the car new from the dealership. I believe this is a very serious matter. Brake line busted on something with that low of miles.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Edge. While driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle experienced a loss of throttle response when depressing the accelerator pedal, and failed to accelerate properly. After shutting the engine off and back on, the vehicle operated normally. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (friendly Ford in las vegas, nv) and a module was replaced. After the repair was performed, the vehicle idled very highly until the engine warmed up. Also, the brakes would not function properly. The driver was unable to gradually stop the vehicle. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, but no failures were found. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 4,000.

Breaks I tried breaking while approaching a stop light but my car refused to stop. Luckily there was nobody in front of me, but it took me about 2 or 3X the amount of time I'm used to, to make a complete stop. There's a hissing noise now when I press on the break and I have to put down a lot of pressure on the pedal in order to stop. I don't know if it has anything to do with the recall issued in November but this is dangerous.

Brakes squeak loudly when the weather is hot or after driving the car for 45 and returning to the car to drive after an hour or two of not driving. The brakes become touchy and bite when returning to drive after the car sits for an hour or so. When stopping suddenly at any time, the brakes bite severely. Pads have already been replaced within the first year. Helped but did not solve the problem. Brakes also feel as if they are grinding when returning to drive the car after it sits for an hour or so, after having drove for 45 minutes or so. At times the brakes will squeak and bite first thing in the morning. Dealer has replaced the pads, noted the biting, but the problem still exists.

While driving at 70 mph on a busy stretch of highway, the vehicle jerked slightly, a notification light (orange wrench) came on saying to check the owner's manual, and the accelerator ceased to function. I was able to navigate the car safely to the shoulder; however, the braking felt strained and there was no ability to throttle the engine at any point. Upon stopping another notification popped up saying that "hill assist unavailable". once stopped, I turned the engine off and let the car sit for a couple of minutes. The car restarted (albeit roughly), and I was able to drive home safely. The car is currently at the Ford dealer where the vehicle was purchased. No update has been provided. The only feedback we've gotten was that they may "find nothing". this is a very serious problem, and I do not believe the vehicle is safe to operate without identifying and repairing this issue.
