Coolant intrusion on cylinder #3. Check engine light came on after rough idle. Issue verified by certified Ford dealer. This is a safety issue if the vehicle stops on a highway and is undrivable. It is a well known issue and deserves a recall.

Coolant leaked into cylinder. Ruined engine left at dealership after being replaced with a new long block. The vehicle could have stopped running at any point. Several Ford Edge SUVs have had this exact problem. My Ford Edge was only inspected by the Ford dealership service department via diagnostic testing. The check engine light came on and I took the earliest service appointment available. Previous to the check engine light illuminating I did notice a slight hesitation in acceleration at approximately 30 mph.

My check engine light came on and I had it tested and it was a #2 misfire. Along with the check engine light was a rattling in the front end of the vehicle, when I would start the car. I changed the spark plugs, then the check engine light went away. Weeks later my check engine late came on again with the same rattling but this time it was worse. Within two days my engine over heating light came on. Myself and a friend checked for fluids and all my coolant was empty. We filled it up and then the next morning it was below the minimum fill line again. I took it into Ford dealership. When they looked into the check engine light they found coolant intrusion in Cylinder number 3 due to a faulty block.

We have a 2017 ford edge that has developed a coolant intrusion in cylinder 2 which the dealer said will cost $9800. The vehicle only has 72,000 miles on it and I-??ve seen several reports of this same problem on the NHTSA website. Has this problem had a recall or possibly a future recall? I realize there is not one on our particular vehicle and was wondering why. We are concerned for our safety as we are seniors and if the engine fails what we will do.

My vehicle has the same issues related to a recall where the coolant leaked into a cylinder effecting the engine which now has to be replaced. The problem is that this recall is vin specific which eliminates my vehicle from this recall. It is my opinion that this needs to be reviewed because somewhere along the lines somebody dropped the ball. How can my vehicle not fall under this recall due to a number?

Upon starting the engine, there is a shake and a rough idle for a few moments. Check engine light comes on and off randomly. Each time code reads as engine misfire cylinder number 2. I have replaced spark plugs and Ignition coil. Just hit 77,300 miles. Seems to be a pretty common issue. How is there no recall yet? Today on top of that issue, temperature gauge light up and checked coolant and was very low.

My car initially gave me a check engine light. My coolant was found to be low and coolant was replaced which resolved the check engine light immediately. There were no more issues for approximately 1 week, at that time my car started to emit a white smoke from its exhaust, my check engine light turned on again at about the same time. My car was taken to the dealership where there was found to be coolant intrusion on cylinder #2. My entire engine needed to be replaced. It also took approximately 3-4 weeks for Ford to ship the engine to the dealership due to there being a shortage on engines. Ford was contacted by the dealership on my behalf and I was told there was no recall and nothing they could do for me.

While driving with 97K miles on it, vehicle started to stutter. The check engine light came on. We took the vehicle to a local repair shop. They replaced the evaporate purge solenoid. The coolant was low as well. They did a pressure test but could not find a leak and told us to watch it. Just before 100k miles, vehicle started to stutter again. We took it to a Ford Dealership. They found the coolant low and a cracked engine block.

The cooling system on my 2017 Ford Edge with 2.0 liter Ecoboost engine (currently with 61,000 miles) is not working properly due to coolant leaking internally in the engine from the engine head into cylinder number 2. This causes a variety of misfire codes to be set periodically on the vehicle, from P0316 (misfire during first 1000 revolutions) to P0302 (cylinder 2 misfire). The internal leak also causes coolant level in the reservoir to slowly drop, potentially leading to engine seizure and loss of vehicle control due to loss of power steering, although we have not experienced this ourselves due to knowledge of the nature of the problem - I am constantly checking coolant level. The coolant leak did, however, cause number 2 spark plug to fail causing a flashing MIL light, rendering the car undriveable until I replaced the plug. Ford Motor Company is aware of the open-deck cooling design flaw in these engines that causes the problems described above. Ford refuses to do anything about this problem (like a recall) since apparently they don't consider it a safety issue. All I've gotten out of them is basically a "sorry about your luck".
