Power steerin assist fault warning came on while driving on highway. I pulled over to see what that ment in my vehicle manual. When I started the car back up I could not manage to turn the steering wheel to continue to drive and had the car towed. There is a recall for this exact problem, (steering torque sensor), yet Ford Motor Company will not honor it with my car, since it is not listed on the recall list.

I had the recall 14S05C done in February to "fix" the potential electric power steering problem by reprogramming the pscm and ipc modules. Now in September I started my car and the steering just stopped working. Towed it to the dealer and they said the steering column and power steering needs to be replaced for a cost of $1,350. I sure hope Ford will pay for this. I mean, what's the point of a recall service if it doesn't fix the problem.

When came out of store and started the truck the power steering was not working. Called my husband and he had me look for the fill reservoir for the power steering and check the belt. He determined that it is a closed system. This has happened many times since then. It always happens when I start it not while I am driving. I have had to drive it that way as it is my only mode of transportation. Looked it up online and discovered there was a recall but the manufacturers date was only through 09/2010. Mine is 01/2011. The dealer told me they cannot do it as a recall because mine is not on the list. Even though it is the same problem as the earlier ones. Ford told me to save my receipts in case there was a recall and told me I had to contact NHTSA to file a complaint. I am afraid it will start to happen while I am driving and cannot afford to have it fixed. They need to extend the recall before someone gets hurt.

As I was making a left turn my steering wheel locked up, an alarm went off, and then the car returned to normal steering again. Has happened quite a few times and have brought it to Ford and still happened afterwards until this last time my power steering has gone out completely on a 7hr drive home with a baby in the back seat.

Ford issued a recall for my 2010 Escape (NHTSA recall: 14V-284) for power steering issues which I responded to and a local dealership had it in for service. Now I am starting to experience the issues that were cited in the recall including loss of power steering leading me to believe that the recall did not correct the situation at all.

I was driving down I-70 West bound and my car started to change lanes without my control. Also since I had the Ford's recall number 14S05 service my gas millage has also dropped by 3-5 miles per gallon. Before the recall service I had no issues with my car. I have noticed my car steering is over compensating providing a carnival type ride. (car sickness to those who ride with me and sometimes myself also.) asked the Ford motor car company about restoring back to the orginal setting and they said no. My car is no longer safe to use since I had the 14S05 recall service done.

I drive a 2010 Ford Escape and received a recall notice (#14S05) for the power steering sensor. I took it to Liberty Ford in parma heights in October 2014 to have this fixed. In late January 2015 I again received the same signal on my dashboard that I did prior to the recall. My steering wheel became hard to steer. I brought it back to the dealer and was informed that the steering column needs to be replaced and this would cost me almost $1200. The dealer informed me that this really doesn't have anything to do with the recall and is due to normal wear and tear on the vehicle. Another customer going through the same thing advised me that his mechanic advised him that this is a known Ford defect. They are passing these costs onto me - this is so unfair. I have no recourse but to pay this amount since it is my only vehicle.

Power steering failed. There was a recall in July 2014 on this. Dealership then reset the software for the torque sensor. The recall states that either a software update is needed, the torque sensor replaced, or the steering column replaced. At the time I had no issues. 6 months later my power steering failed. I am now told I need to replace the steering column. The recall states if a software reset was done that any further issues would not be covered. The cost for this is roughly $1,500 whereas a software reset only costs Ford Motor Company about an hour and a half labor. I feel the software update was a "band-aid" to a much larger problem with this model and the problem is being passed onto the consumer.

My car cut off while I was driving & when I was at a stop light. The car came to a sudden stop in the middle of an intersection (completely losing all power) a large SUV swerved to prevent from hitting me. I immediately took the car to the vic bailey Ford, they kept my car on & off for 5 days. Charging me $98 for a diagnostic test (that they stated revealed nothing about the problem) & then they turned around & charged me #130 for a new battery, the car continued to cut off on me. They kept my car for another 3 days. Finally they called me & told me to come pick up the car. The service dept. Stated that they didn't know what was wrong w/ the car, but they knew something was wrong w/ it. They told me to wait til the problem got worst. They sent me home w/ a car that cuts off constantly, they don't care that I need to drive a dependable car. I'm an educator/state employee that doesn't have all this money to keep putting my car into the shop & missing days from work. They don't care that I have a young son who rides in that car w/ me to school. They don't care that by driving that car my life & my son life is (was) put in danger. All they saw was a black single mother that they thought they could tell anything to. I have spoken with the service mgr. (no help) Ford rep (no help) the customer service mgr. (no help). It is awful, that in 2015 an America woman is treated w/ such disrespect & pushed to the side. Ford made this car, they sale this car, so they should be able to fix the car. Ford should make reliable cars for the consumer. Who is suppose to help when the big vic bailey Ford, vic bailey Honda, vic bailey Ford repair shop, Ford Motor Company, & Ford service all do nothing to fix this issue? by putting this information out to the public I hope to make others aware of the treatment that I have received & make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else.
