Continued repair saga with Ford. Car was blowing white smoke. Allegedly, it is not the short block (again) but a blown turbo. Which is way too soon to have both replaced UNDER 80,000 miles. This make and model absolutely needs more recalls. I have no trust or faith in Ford products after having my vehicles being in the shop for over 6+ months between the two repairs. And the countless out of pocket expenses that have come with this.

We had got our car back from having the engine replaced, and within less than a month, a check engine light appeared and was determined to be a P0299. We took it back to the dealership and were then told the Turbo was shot and needed to be replaced. Cost was $1705 after we had just spent over $8K to replace the engine. Our Ford Escape is getting to be a complete nightmare. Very poor quality of a car in my opinion.

I was on the highway and changed lanes to accelerate around a truck. As soon as I hit the gas, a huge plume of smoke erupted out the back. I limped in to a shop. The unfortunate thing was, I was in Texas and live in North Carolina. I had to rent a car to finish my business in Texas, and returned to North Carolina by flight. Three weeks later, after the shop replaced the turbo, I had to fly back to pick up the car. This was only the beginning of the saga of the car that cost me $13,000 in one year.
