After having no issues with this vehicle, (it really has been my favorite truck) the engine light came on and within 2 blocks, the engine started cutting out and then a terrible sound like something wrapped around the drive shaft happened. The car stopped dead in the middle of the Highway. Upon looking at it, the radiator fluid was in the engine case. The garage started taking it apart and found a piston and ring in the oil pan, and the electronic controller not working. No choice but to put a new engine in, at 6k. Most of the 60k miles was highway, no off roading, this is a cream puff car. Oil changed every 3k miles and all PM done timely, a real disappointment for a car that I really bragged up that had not issues until this occurred. Ford says that no one else has had this problem, has anyone else experienced this issue.

I love my Sport Trac and don't want to junk it. I have 170,000 miles on engine so I'm afraid to spend so much without rebuilding entire motor. Ford knew exactly what they was doing when they engineered this. I have read 4 other complaints that are the same, so there is a problem with it.
Hey Ford.... man up and fix your defect or like most big companies, wait until someone gets hurt by it!!!! I paid very good money for my truck and its still in very good shape, but not worth much if you have to push it everywhere. Well gotta go... Korean car company with 100000 mile warranty on everything is calling. Thanks for the expense and headache.
