Automatic four wheel drive system failure, four wheel drive does not engage front hubs, four wheel drive inoperable.

While driving in the four wheel drive mode, wheel hubs locked in, causing a loss of vehicle control. Dealer has verbally been notified.

Original locking hubs were replaced in July of 1997. They were locking themselves in four wheel drive with no input from driver to do so. Mileage on vehicle was 42,508. Mileage is now 67,000, and these hubs are now doing the same thing. Cost estimate to fix problem is around $600. I think Ford should pick up the tab for this repair.
