About These NHTSA Complaints:
The NHTSA is the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem. See the Back button — blue bar at the very top of the page — to explore more.
Truck bought in Oct 2003, 4X4 supercrew lariat with light colored seats. Leather seems to turn black and fade only after a few months in lumbar and backs, plus armrest console. Basically wherever someone is sitting in the vehicle. They replace seat covers, but since May 2004, they were replacd Jun 30, 2004 and Nov 6, 2004. It is now March 2005 and still having the same issue. No one seems to want to get this problem resolved.

Captain chairs on lariat pick-up are unacceptable. The seats appear to have a T shaped substructure, which is pressing up into where the passengers' buttock rest. I can best describe it as sitting on a hard bicycle seat. Dealer and Ford indicate that this is not a defect. It is a design issue and will not accept accountability.
