I bought this truck used in 2008. The paint looked good when I got itbut within a year the paint started getting these strange tiny almost sand or rust like particles under the paint along with some chipping of the paint. Friends told me it was simply due to living in the snow and the salt on the roads...but I didnt notice the problem on their cars or trucks. I took very good care..at least the best i could...of the paint. Washing and waxing it regularly and rinsing it off frequently during the snowy months. The paint continues to get worse. Being from Texas I love Ford trucks and haven't had many problem with this truck other than the terrible appearance of the paint. I was going to get it repainted, thinking I somehow caused thet issue, until I came across a "technical service bulletin" speaking to the "aluminum corrosion" issue. Tonight I saw a story on our local News about the paint problems. Since it seems to be a large scale issue, I feel Ford should pay to fix the problem. I originally thought it just needed a repaint, but after research, I have come to find it is not that simple. Any body parts with the affected paint will most likely need to be replaced COMPLETELY and I am not willing to shell out for a new front and back bumper, hood and side panels when this is obviously a problem that Ford should cover.

THE PAINT STARTED OFF JUST PEELING OFF A SMALL SECTION ON THE SIDE OF THE TRUCK AND NOW KEEPS SPREADING AND SPREADING. I HAVE NEVER OWNED A CAR OR TRUCK THAT DID THAT. IT HAS TO BE A BAD PAINT JOB BY FORD. IT'S A SHAME!

The paint is peeling around the gas cap (which also broke). It started to run right on down the side of the truck. I have owned several vehicles in my life and this is the first time it has ever happened to me. I guess this will rule out the other side from saying that I must have spilled gas on it? If my habits haven't changed over the years then why did my gas spilling ways not cause previous vehicles to peel paint around the gas filler? I GUESS THE ANSWER IS: BECAUSE IT IS A BAD PAINT JOB AND NOT THE FAULT OF THE OWNER...IT IS FORD'S FAULT!!!

hello i have a f150 and when i was washing my truck i noticed that the paint was peeling around the passenger side head light and i was just really angry because the truck only had 25k on it and that shouldn't do that at that early of an age.

I LOVE MY TRUCK....had it four years and serviced regularly BY FORD. When I found the paint peeling from around the gas cap I took it to Ford and they said the truck was out or warranty and not covered. I was told it was probably dripped gas on the paint....not a possiblility - EVER because I am anal about my vehicles. My truck is stored outside so is professionally detailed at LEAST twice a year....no where else on my vehicle is there any paint issues and I feel ford should cover this as there is bare metal under the paint....as this area is what I regard as a metal edge - I don't believe if it was primed it was primed ENOUGH to hold the paint. Took it for an estimate and they want to remove the rear window of the cab and strip back quarter and cab (to blend the paint) and then clear coat the entire left side of my truck - making it necessary to replace the decals, etc....all for the tune of $1500 for a 1 1/2" of missing paint. I fear removing the rear window will lead to the ever famous leaking window that I have heard about and I believe my issue is clearly a FORD DEFECT!

Cab roof paint began bubbling and peeling off a couple of months ago and is getting worse. Looks like a problem with primer and/or paint. Started in front at top of windshield and now spreading further back. Local dealership service rep says no recall exists and issue not covered by warranty. Ford customer service has contacted local dealership service mgr to help. Still trying to contact service mgr for assistance.
