May 07 rear brake pads replaced. January 08 a violent shaking occurs at 50mph nearly causing a loss of control of vehicle on highway. Took vehicle to shop and found that a broken clip on the parking brake allowed the parking brake shoes (on the inside of the rotors) to bind nearly locking the wheels. Needed to replace parking brake, both rotors and brake pads due to damage. Shop did not keep the parts. Concern is the a broken parking brake clip can result in a loss of vehicle. Cost was over $800. Ford claimed that brake abuse was at fault.

The contact owns a 2004 Ford F-150. While driving between 30-50 mph, the front brakes would grind and the brake pedal would pulsate when the brakes were applied. The dealer stated that the pistons in the calipers were misaligned and failed to release the brake rotor. The dealer replaced the rotors and calipers. The current and failure mileages were 27,288.

At 9000 miles the brake rotors warped and were replaced under warranty, but the pads were not. The rotors began warping again and were machined to remove the warping at 34000 miles but again the pads were not replaced. At 37000 the rotors warped again and now at 39000 the vehicle is unsafe to drive. Ford claims this is normal wear and tear and will not authorize repairs because the vehicle is out of warranty. Ford says the consumer must pay the cost to replace the rotors and pads.

My 04 Ford F150 supercrew 4X4, at 10,000 miles noticed brakes and rotors starting to wear. At 17,000 miles they were destroyed. Talked to the dealer and he said that it was normal wear and would cost me over $400 to fix it. The trucks under warranty, why should I pay for a manufacturer flaw in the brake system. I called Ford direct and got someone who was reading answers out of a book and was absolutely no help. I E-mailed Ford and their response was all dealers are independent and can charge whatever they want!! and never did give me an answer about my brakes. I finally talked to a friend who's father ia high up the Ford ladder. He had someone give me a "deal" and repair my truck at a small cost. Why should I have to get a "deal" when my truck is still under warranty? new brakes have 500 miles on them and already see the new rotors starting to groove!!! Ford has not helped one bit in this problem I own two Ford, cant wait to get rid of them. There will be no more Ford in this family!!

I have discovered what may be a factory defect in the 2004 Ford F150 truck in relation to design and application. I just spent $500 in putting on new front rotors on my truck, however there was plenty of life left on the front pads. So if the rotors have to be replaced after 40,000 miles when the front pads are still good, then there is a problem.

2005 Ford F-150. Recurring brake problem in approx 28,000 I have had the vehicle back to the dealer 5 times as brakes squeal and grind. Approx every 4 - 5,000 miles, the same problem occurs.

I have a new Ford F150 super crew that has had three sets of rotors, stabilizer bars, tires, brakes, brake cluster, etc. I now have 18,000 miles on this truck and it is needing another set of rotors now. It is completely unsafe to drive and we have children and are afraid to take them any where in this vehicle. I have other that I can provide info that has had the same problems. I need help with this and I am going to explore every avenue possible to see that no one is injured do to this defect.

The contact stated she had an ongoing failure of the brakes. The vehicle was serviced by the dealership nine times. The pads and rotors were replaced six times. A manufacturer's engineer inspected the vehicle. He made several suggestions to the dealership. The dealership implemented these suggestions although the aforementioned problems recurred. Also, the transmission started slipping while driving. It was inspected by the dealer, and they were unable to determine the cause of the problem.

Brakes warping... ABS comes on, brakes start pumping......turn the brake disc about three times, replaced brake disc four times in twenty thousand miles on F 150 Ford pickup truck........

Had to put 4 sets of brakes on vehicle since purchasing the car. The rotors were getting grooved so badly that vehicle pulls off the road. The consumer talked to Ford, and they ignored him. He traveled and saw this problem with several other Ford cars. Ford told him it was cosmetic. While on the first trip with this vehicle, the rear end had gone out, the clutch pack was removed and replaced, the fog lamps were holding moisture and were replaced, the brakes would pulsate and pull from one side, the shifting was harsh when changing from first to second gear, a loud clunk would be present at times when starting from stop then decelerating and the vehicle would crank but would not start at times.

The brakes have been a problem since I purchased the vehicle. The wheel shimmy's when I apply the brakes and it gets progressively worse. I have to take it into the shop again to have it looked at - the first time they ground the rotors - now I will want them to replace the pads and brake rotors. It is very scary to drive around a corner when you must apply the brakes.

Vibration on take-off when cold from rear-end. Ford won't fix extreme brake rotor wear for a new truck with only 12000 mles. Ford says this is normal. I don't think so.

With 4K miles, the brake rotors were scarred extremely bad. The dealer and the manufacturer stated that this problem was due to normal wear. The consumer stated that the vehicle is under full warranty. The consumer stated that he can not afford to get the vehicle fixed.

While coming to a stop sign I noticed the steering wheel starting to shake. It progressively, became worse so I took it in to my local Ford dealer. The first time they said they found nothing, then as it got worse they found the rotors warped. They replaced the rotors and pads. About 4-5 months went by and I noticed the steering wheel starting to shake again. I brought it to a different dealer, kearny mesa Ford and the found the rotors warped again. This time they wanted to machine the rotors, instead of replacing them. I pushed them into replacing the rotors and pads again. This took a day or so to get them to do this. Once again, 4-5 months down the road, the steering wheel started to shake. This time encinitas Ford said that Ford would not replace anything regarding the brakes. I informed them of all the other complaints on this site and only then did they get back to me saying they would replace the rotors but not the pads. Magically, their service director said that Ford had newer rotors available, but they flat out refused to replace the pads. So as of now I have new rotors and I am getting new pads put on somewhere else. I would not give them any of my money to replace the pads. I would rather have another mechanic do the work. We will see how long these rotors last!

I am going to give you a view of what has happened with this truck in the 2 months that I have owned this new truck. The day after I bought the truck I took it back for a vibration in the breaks and a vibration in the wheels at 30 and 75 well as I am sure all of you know the vibration in the wheels at those speeds was the tires are out of round and well the breaks well we are still on that one I also had a vibration in the rear end. Well they told me that they had to get new tires and that the rear end was bad. So now that they have replaced the rear end and replaced the tires and rebuilt the break system that still does not work, and now the window falls off track and I smell something burning in the truck like plastic also let me add that the keypad does not work. Now remember that this truck in two (2) months old I bought it on August 23 2004 and it is now November 9, 2004. So what do you think that I should do"?" I do appreciate all the input.
