At around 57K miles, the 4X4 started engaging by itself and was difficult to move the vehicle like it was locked in two gears at the same time....after inching forward and back a few times and turning the 4X4 switch from 2wheel drive to 4wheel drive and back, I managed to get it disengaged and drove it to the dealer......they didn't have any explanation for the problem......This happened to a truck that was still fairly new and the 4X4 was rarely ever used.....cost almost $800 to repair.
More recently, the transmission went out due to planetary gears at 81K miles, and now the power window regulator has failed at 82K miles and the window is in the down position and won't go up......I've had enough....I now realize that Ford isn't built so TOUGH after all...they must be using some cheap parts...all of these issues are fairly common and there are hundreds of complaints on line about each of the problems I have experienced so there must be something FORD could do about it......I will be looking for a Chevrolet Silverado Crew Cab to replace the F150 and Hope that the Chevy will not let me down like Ford has.
