The contact owns a 2004 Ford F150. The contact was driving 55 mph when the steering wheel seized. The contact merged the vehicle off the highway, turned the vehicle off and waited thirty minutes before restarting. The vehicle resumed as normal. The dealer inspected the vehicle and advised the contact that the upper and lower steering shaft had rusted together. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 103,188. The alternator was replaced. Updated 02/28/12

The contact owns a 2004 Ford F-150. While driving 20 mph, the battery light illuminated and the alternator gauge dropped. The dealer stated that the alternator caused the failure and they made the replacement. Approximately one year later, while driving 20 mph, the failure recurred. The dealer replaced the alternator again. The contact stated that the failure occurred two more times under the same circumstances. The dealer stated that the alternator was the cause of each failure. The failure mileage was 8,100 and current mileage is 26,200. Updated01/07/08 the windshield wiper blades and a fuse was replaced
