I was in a bank drive-up driving my daughter''s 2004 Ford 150 truck. When I started to leave the truck lurched and the engine went to full speed. I immediately applied the brakes but they did nothing to slow the truck. I was headed straight for the bank where the tellers were, so I turned sharply to the right. The truck kept going at a high rate of speed with me trying to stop it with the brakes. It shot through the parking lot and across a very busy road where a car hit me. The impact of the other car didn''t even phase the truck. It kept going, over the curb across the street, through a burger king parking lot and rammed into metal stairs on the side of a jewelry store where it finally stopped. I hit the staircase at a tremendous rate of speed yet the airbags didn''t deploy. The car that hit me was totaled and the driver went to the hospital. My daughter''s truck was totaled and I had to go to the hospital with injuries that turned out to be bruises all over my body, especially on my legs. The staircase was destroyed and a car nearby had damage. The insurance was not adequate to cover all the damage. The insurance company sent someone out to do an engineering report on the truck but he could not find the cause. That didn''t surprise me as there was little left to inspect. This was definitely a mechanical failure. I did not have my foot on the gas peddle. I was trying to stop the truck with the brakes and steering to avoid people and other obstacles. Ford needs to look into this as it is an extremely dangerous flaw or defect. I am going to be responsible for a lot of money to repair the damage that the insurance didn''t pay.

Last year owner began having problems. The first time while driving at 35 mph owner took foot off accelerator and put it on the brake, and the vehicle surged forward like it wanted to go 70 mph. Then, a week ago, owner's wife was backing out of the driveway and she left skid marks because the vehicle accelerated and she tried to stop. Owner took vehicle to dealer last year. The first time the salesman called Ford, and they couldn't advise what was causing problem. On April 14, 2005 dealership replaced the throttle body, but this didn't help. Then yesterday the service manager called Ford, and talked to engineer, and engineer claimed that people were accidentally pushing brake pedal and accelerator pedal at the same time. In the last four years, owner purchased four new Ford, and none had the accelerator problem. This problem happened sometimes less than once a month, then, it might happen several times in one week. There was no warning when this happened. Owner was not aware of results of diagnostics on the vehicle. Owner was driving the vehicle in an unsafe condition. Owner didn't have dealer's address information.

About one week after I purchsed my truck I was stopping at stop sign, and my truck suddenly acclerated. This happens ocassoanally. It can happen once or twice a week or it can go a couple months without a incident. I had it to the dealer (zimmerman Ford in cedar rapids Iowa) they reprogramed it and that did not fix the problem. I have told them many times that it was still occuring and they said if they could not duplicate the problem while they had it they could not do anything about it. I have been having thie problem for 18 mounths now. I came very close to having a accident 3 times and will not drive the truck anymore. It is not safe to drive. I called Ford Motor Company and they refered me back to the dealer, which has gotten me nowhere. I see where there have been 8 or more complaints on your websight with the same problem. My Ford dealer said they have a thing called oasis for dealers to report thease problems to Ford and there was not any complaints with this problem.

Consumer was pulling inside of the garage and vehicle suddenly accelerated. Consumer applied the brakes and pedal went to the floor. Then, vehicle crashed into the garage door. Upon impact, both frontal air bag did not deploy. No injuries were reported. Vehicle was towed to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic could not determine the cause of the collision......the brakes did not stop vehicle, nd the air bags did not deploy. There were two children, 5 and 7 years in the back seat who could have been seriously hurt. If the vehicle had moved 3 inches to the right consumer would have gone through the garage door, where consumer's husband was working and could have been run over and seriously hurt. This happened again on christmas eve when the vehicle was parked on a city street in midway, ky. It was in park when consumer turned on the ignition and the accelerator went wide open. Consumer put foot on the brakes and after a few seconds the accelerator went down to normal.

Traveling approximately 10-15 mph slowing to stop at light. Started to apply brakes and engine revved up. Engine was fighting the brakes. Pressed both feet on brakes and still truck did not stop. Pressure in the brakes, so there was fluid in the cylinder. Had to swerve around one vehicle and had to put the vehicle in park to get it to stop. I came within inches of hitting another vehicle. Once I got the vehicle stopped it worked just fine, so I drove it to the dealer. The same thing had happened previously, but the dealership looked at it and said nothing was wrong. This time when I took it in, described the problem and told them it had been in once before, they took me a little more seriously. This is the second time this has happened in 3 months. The truck only has approximately 8,000 miles on it. The dealer has had my truck for two days and can not get it to replicate the problem. They have contacted Ford and said they would let me know what they find out.
