The contact owns a 2004 Ford F150. When the contact started the vehicle, the overdrive and transmission warning lights illuminated. The dealer performed a diagnostic and they stated that the control module failed. They further stated that they would not install a new module because the new modular would be ruined due to a quarter inch shaving on the magnet. The contact stated that the light continued to illuminate everyday when the vehicle was started. The current and failure mileages were 41,000. Updated 4/29/08

The consumer 2004 Ford F150 experienced sudden acceleration which resulted in an accident. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who ran a diagnostic test. The test indicated 4 trouble codes (camshaft position sensor, PCM processor fault, throttle actuator control system which forced shutdown and an internal control module software incompatibility).

While driving approximately 20 mph vehicle stalled. Driver was able to restart vehicle, and it was taken to the dealer for inspection. Mechanic determined that the PCM needed to be replaced, and replaced it. However, the problem recurred, and the vehicle was taken back to the dealer numerous times. However, dealer could not duplicate the problem.
