The vehicle was parked in our driveway and left running. We had 3 coolers in the back seat, so we left it running with the air on. We had driven approximately 300 miles total that day with the air conditioning on high. We unloaded the coolers 1 at a time. This took approximately 30 minutes. We were standing in our kitchen when all of a sudden something smashed into the house and then we see our vehicle "driving" by the window up our driveway. It slid along the house and hit the garage (garage is detached). My husband jumped in the vehicle and put it in reverse and turned it off before it went through the garage. It had hit the center pole, and was stopped by that. There was no one outside when this occurred. We contacted the Ford dealer and were told it was impossible for the vehicle to come out of park by itself. I have been researching this, and found that Ford has had this problem in the past, so I think it is possible. There is no other explanation for this happening. There was no one around outside, and we were in the house. The vehicle had been sitting in the driveway for over 30 minutes and we had been in it 4 different times (in the back seat) unloading stuff, so there is no way it was not in park. We tested this too, if you leave it in drive, as soon as you step off the brake it rolls forward right away. We also do not believe it was a "prank" by anyone, as there was no one around outside and my husbands wallet was on the dash and my purse was in the passanger seat and both were not touched. I am very concerned that there is something wrong with the vehicle, but like I said they keep insisting it isn't possible. Which is not true, as I see they have had this problem in the past. I'm not sure what else I can do at this point since the Ford dealer won't even acknowledge that this could be a problem.
