This is the third regulator on my windows I have replaced the last one happened when I was christmas shopping and when I came out of the store my window was almost completely down how nothing got stolen istill dont know.

2004 F150 crew cab - a few months after the warranty expired, the drivers side window regulator failed causing the window to fall into the track without warning. The result of the failure caused me to swerve and narrowly miss on coming traffic. A few months ago the passengers fwd window failed in the same mannor. Then just Sunday 12-27-09 the right rear window failed the same way. So 3 of 4 regulators failed, causing $1300 in repairs. Just waiting for the 4th to fail as well. Something has to be done to Ford to cover the costs of repairs. This design has an obvious flaw and all the dealers are saying is "lodge a complaint" as they steal your money. Make Ford take some tarp money and reimburse the general public for there design error. No deaths have been attributed to this problem but do not wait until one occurs before action is taken.

The power window regulators in three of the four windows have broken. This is clearly a defect that Ford knows about. The components are the power window regulator. The break and the window falls without warning.

On Dec 31, 2008, while driving to dinner, I heard a loud noise and assumed something hit my vehicle. My window then began slowly sliding down. I was told that the regulator was broken and I needed to replace the entire mechanism (regulator and motor), I could only get the part through a Ford dealership. The complete repair (part and labor) cost me approx. $380. On Nov 16, 2009 (11 months later) the same thing again happens to my rear passenger side window. I was not driving this time. The vehicle was parked at my home. I received an estimate stating that I would be paying nearly the same cost as before.

My complaint is for my 2004 Ford F150 window regulator. I now have 2 windows that are broke and Ford wants approx. $500 each to fix. The first situation was with the whole family in the truck, we heard a loud pop and thought we hit something, then the window just slid down inside the door. We were out of town and had to find tape or something to hold the window up because it was cold outside. The 2nd situation I was by myself coming home from work and pop again which made me so mad that it could happen twice. I had to take the door panels off and the windows are now held up with a rip cord and all the electric windows have been disconnected so we cannot even open any of them. Ford needs to fix this poor design that they know about for free and recall this model.

Own a 2004 Ford F-150 4 door. I have had to replace three of the fourpower window regulators. All three were still under warranty also, the transmission hesitation/loss of RPM/ while driving more so on the freeway when the RPM's reach about 1200/1500 or loss of RPM on deceleration. The dealer would not look at my tranny. Truck was still under warranty. Now 1 year later my tranny has gone out. I have no warranty and not sure how much it is going to cost to get replaced. I believe this all could have been avoided if the dealer would have just looked at my tranny when I asked while my vehicle was still under warranty. Mileage is approx. 98,684. Less than 99,000.

Passenger and driver side rear door power window glass fell inside the door without warning or provocation. Regulator assembly was replaced 10/27/08 for passenger side for $304.83 and 10/21/09 for drivers side for $294.48 by local Ford dealership. The first failure occurred during an lsu football game, we thought we had been robbed with the window broken, we were lucky nothing was stolen! second time was when my husband was driving in town in speeds of 0-45 mph, luckily he didn't crash due to the surprise of the noise and quick influx of air. I reported the first part failure to Ford, their only response was a request to fill out a concern handling survey so I have taken this next step after a second part failure for the exact same thing.
