My 2004 F 150 drivers window was down, when reaching my destination I rolled up the window. Once up, a funny noise and now the motor will just run, window wont go up or down, but I can make it go down if I push it down by hand and like wise to put it up. Then to top it all off, doesn't the passenger side start to act up today WTF!!, rolls down when it wants to and would hardly go back up, time for Ford to swallow their pride and take care of their loyal customers!!! Not all of us are making the money that the big wigs from Ford are and can blow $300+ to fix our vehicles like its petty cash. So how bout it Ford, take care of us, and make this a recall action.

Well, it's about the same fun experience that everyone else has written in about. I put my window down. Then I hear a cracking sound and wouldn't you know the window never came back up again. I could hear the motor running but nothing was happening with the window. That was back in 2007 and it was my driver side window. I went and had it fixed because you can't really drive around with you window down in Florida in the summer time. It sucked to pay the money to have it fixed but I did, what else was I supposed to do. I didn't really think any thing of it because other then that I really loved the truck but, just about two months ago the passenger window went, and then a week later the rear driver side window went. It was the same exact problem. Now come on you have to be joking. Well if it is a joke, it's not really funny. Thank god for wood shims. That's what I have holding my windows up right now as I type this. I just can't bring myself to go shell out $700 to get what is obviously a manufacturers defect fixed right now. If there is any help out there for this problem would love to hear about it.

This is the fourth time since 2007 that a window regulator has went out.

My truck is in very decent condition but the window has fallen down twice in the last three years. First time it happened it was under warranty but now...I am out of luck! Just like the other drivers are describing it was a loud pop and I had to drive 40 miles at night with freezing weather! Love my truck but this is a shame as it is getting older and bound to continue occurring...guess it's time to trade it in for something else!
- Sonia R., Mission, TX, US
Pissed that this is the 2nd time my truck has the same problem! Obviously a factory defect that needs to be taken care of immediately. Deterring my from further buying another Ford vehicle!

This is the SECOND window that came off the track with a loud BANG for no specific reason. The first time at about 58,000 miles cost me $425. Now this one cost $425. So, I'm into window mechanism repair for almost $1,000 on a truck with only 60,000 miles that has rarely seen a dirt road. According to the dealer Ford used some flimsy plastic parts to hold the cables in place and they get several customers a month in need of this repair. It's unbelievable really. I've had Fords for years and have had to endure the endless exhortations about Toyotas from most of my friends. I want to love my truck but Ford is making it harder and harder...

This is basically part two of my previous complaint.... only done so that there would be a complaint for both regulators as both the driver's side and passenger side power window regulators have failed. As stated before.... MAN UP FORD AND ISSUE A RECALL!!
- Angela R., Land O Lakes, FL, US
I was pissed when that window fell on me and I went right to the ford dealer. They knew just what it was and the price it would cost, it has happened so often. I wrote ford a nasty letter and they blew me off, and that was that. Then I came out of a store this weekend and a guy in the next truck asked across from the drivers seat through the left side of his truck "HEY did you notice if the window was up" and I looked at the model f-150 and said good luck to him. The same thing happened not only to him...my friend's f-150 just happened 10 days ago...and neither can afford that bs. If ford doesn't care then I don't care to own another ford! Shame on them.

I will make a separate complaint but just to make you aware... this is the 2nd (count them TWO) power window regulators that have failed on my FORD F150 TRUCK. The first time was just 100 miles out of warranty (imagine that)... the driver's side window just FELL down into the door frame. That was probably 2or 3 years ago? I was pissed at the time because of the cost and just being out of warranty but just thought it was a fluke... then this past Friday... BAM.... there goes the passenger side window. Same thing, just driving along and down it goes into the door frame. Another $300.00 bucks! So this time I think, this can't be a fluke and I look it up on-line. There are tons of this same problem. MAN UP FORD AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS!

Just like the hundreds of complaints i have already seen about these 04+ window regulators failing my driver side failed yesterday. once i took it apart and worked on it for hours with no success i realized it would have to be replaced as i searched on the internet for where to buy a regulator i came across many people complaining of same problem as angry as i was this enraged me, people saying that up to 3 windows failing in less than a month, and ford has done NOTHING? you know what F*ck ford! now i will be constantly worried that even when i replace the regulator it will fail again and again i would like to find the engineer who designed these and beat the hell out of him! I am going to replace this one this time but if this happens again I am taking off my lift kit rims tires stripping interior driving this truck to the desert breaking the ignition pouring whipping my fingerprints pouring gas all over it lighting up a cigar smoking it and tossing it on the piece of crap. call my insurance company and report it stolen I WILL DO IT TOO! good luck to the rest of you if you wanna join me in the desert with your truck let me know.

This is really a major hassle.I by no means have the money to pay for this obvious defect that ford has let go by the wayside. This particular defect and thier lack of accountability is all that I need as a consumer to no longer purchase thier vehicles.I want to support American products and American companys but when I can clearly see by the many other posts concerning this completly same problem I have to shake my head and think what the F@#$ are you thinking Ford.II love how they act like thier not aware of the problem so there for no problem. Wrong, I will do what I can as a consumer to tell ever single person including the AZ state attorney general of this problem.I will not lie down and fork over money for repairs for something I quarantee they are completly aware of.

Yesterday, there was a long pop when I was rolling up the driver's side window. The window fell into the door and will not come up. This is exactly the problem that 100's of other F150 owners have reported at http://www.carcomplaints.com/Ford/F-150/2004/windows_windshield/. Look at 'window fell into door', 'window does not roll up', and defective window regulator' categories.
Crossroad Ford Cary NC sevice center quoted me $400 - $450 repair cost. A local repair shop is going to do the work for $220.
I WANT FORD TO REPLACE ALL 4 WINDOW REGULATORS ON MY TRUCK. THIS IS A KNOWN DESIGN DEFECT.
I love the truck, but if Ford doesn't do something about this issue, I won't buy another Ford product again.
- Dan F., Cary, NC, US
Dealership did not want to pay for window motor or regulator but fought with them that it was just over the 3yrs 36,000 miles and I wanted it fixed after all the trouble I had had with the truck. They did pay for it.

I had to replace regulator assy in right rear window. Second window that had to be replaced. Already had driver side replaced just over 37,000 miles. Then at 63,188 miles back passenger window replaced at $352.64 That is 3 window regulators replaced and back window was fixed because of leak. This truck has been nothing but problems.
- pitglr1, Virginia Beach, VA, US
This has now occurred on number 3 of 4 of my windows. This is ridiculous! One time...maybe, but three times?!? This should definitely be considered a defect. More money out the window. Looks like I'll be switching to Chevy for my next vehicle.

Was pulling into drive at home. Window popped like a rock hit it and then fell down in the door. After getting the door apart I discovered that the main problem was a piece of plastic on the verticle guide broke and allowed the cable to break free. Upon a closer inspection I discovered that there were multiple pieces of plastic that had broken. One way or the other it was doomed to fail.
Obviously from what I have read here the entire mechanism is defective.
- Roy H., Glasgow, KY, US
Reading all the complaints about the same problem that i am having, it only makes sense that Ford must have a recall on the windows that keep dropping in the door. This is the second one in a month that has happened to me. The first one was my drivers window and last night in the pouring rain it happened to the passenger window. Something has to be done about this problem, maybe give some of the bailout money to the customers that are having problems with your vehicles.
- Patrick M., Gilbert, SC, US
well i really upset with this problem. is the first time that i bought a FORD is really a disposal cars come on. the situation is not for being throwing money FORD COMPANY HAVE TO REPLACE these parts at they'r own cost. I heard a lot of problem with ford.
- Francisco R., Tucson, AZ, US
well i guess iam not alone on this one and i guess ford is not going to do anything about it and they wounder why america is the way it is today take a loyal ford customer AND JUST KEEP SCREWING THEM KEEP IT UP AND YOULL BE LOOKING FOR A BAIL OUT PACKAGE BEFORE YOU KNOW I WANT THIS FIXED
- robertpa, Fleetwood, PA, US
Third window to fall.... Yes THIRD.... None under warranty. This has got to be fixed by FORD. I will not ever, ever, ever buy another Ford because of this. Not only will I be in for over $1,500 to fix all of the windows that have broken, the dealer Sucks and never has the parts and has to order them in. The trucks look great, drive great, and have pitiful parts in them. No wonder our car industry has been in trouble. Why buy American that won't last.
