Leaving driveway, started to accelerate up slight incline on subdivision street and truck unexpectedly jumped from 1st gear to 5th and then suddenly downshifted to 1st gear causing vehicle to lurch forward as speed rapidly decreased to near idle speed. Seems to occur when vehicle shifts from 1st to 2nd, because if the truck is put back into park it will start to drive in first and when it shifts to 2nd it immediately jumps to 5th and repeats the above.

The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. While driving 60 mph, the gear independently shifted into first gear, causing the contact to veer off the road. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle, but the failure recurred approximately four times. The vehicle was taken to bob bell Ford (7125 ritchie hwy, glen burnie, md 21061, (888) 878-8045) where it was diagnosed with lead frame failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that there were no recalls associated with the VIN. The contact was referred to NHTSA to file a complaint. The failure mileage was 105,000.

I recently looked up any recalls involved with my vehicle. The first that came up was the transmission recall for F150 of my year. To be honest I only looked it up because my truck shifted from 4th to 1st while I was driving at about 35mph. The second time this happened I was leaving a golf course and the truck was shifting from 1st to 3rd and back to 1st again. Also the speedometer was going crazy on both occurrences, jumping 20mph at some points while I know I was only going about 15mph. The vehicle was in motion both times at low city street speeds.

Hi, while going out to dinner on Friday evening 8/31/18. My 2011 Ford F-150 was running fine... stopped for a traffic light... light turn green as we were going around 35... 40 miles per hour on a straight part of CT10 all of a sudden the truck went from running fine to it going into a skid while still accelerating... it was crazy!!!! good thing I was wearing my seatbelt I felt that it would have sent me thru the windshield!!! I pulled over to the side of the road wondering what the hell just happen!"!" since I was within a mile from home I decided to try and make it home... as I started on my way the truck didn't want to come out of first gear so I pulled over again thinking of calling triple aaa to get towed... after sitting on the side of the road for minutes with the truck turn off I decided to try it again since I was so close to home... well I was successful on making it home safely!!! today is Monday 9/3/18 labor day without having a truck to depend on... tomorrow I will be bringing it to my local Ford dealership where I purchased it.... I need help to get this truck back to running order...

The truck looses power while driving down the road. Most of the time I have been driving as a slow rate of speed 20-35 mph. The engine continues to run and the wrench light comes on the dash. The transmission receives no power and the truck will only coast forward. Immediate solution is to pull over, shut the engine off and restart. The truck then has power. The problem may repeat itself within miles or it may not repeat for days/weeks. This happen 18 months ago, 4 months ago, and 2 days ago.

The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. While driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle downshifted to first gear on its own. The contact pulled over and shut the vehicle off for approximately two minutes. Once restarted, the vehicle operated normally. The failure occurred seven times last week. The vehicle was taken to empire Ford of new bedford (395 mt pleasant street, new bedford, MA 02746) where it was diagnosed that the output speed sensor was defective and forced the vehicle to downshift to first gear. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000.

I often can not turn on the car due to the "P" parking light not turn on. I do not know if it is some sensor that has an intermittent fault. I already went to Ford autonation - margate, fl and they did not find the problem, but I've been suffering from this same defect for a long time.

The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. While driving various high speeds on an incline, the transmission's gear shifting ability malfunctioned. The contact stated that there was a loss of acceleration and the speedometer decreased to zero. The contact stated that the wrench icon illuminated. The contact restarted the vehicle to correct the failure. The dealer (viva Ford, 5550 N desert blvd, el paso, Texas 79912, (915) 834-2800) diagnosed that the plastic lead frame, foam seal, bulkhead connector, and oil pan gasket within the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the vehicle was not included in any recalls. The failure mileage was 166,000.

While driving the truck, it has begun to ride choppy when accelerating at around 40-mph and 60-mph. The choppy performance goes away when hard accelerating (putting the gas pedal to the floor) at those speeds, but the transmission warning light comes on when continuously doing this at 60-mph. The truck starts to lose power and does not shift, nor ride smoothly at the speeds; the front of the vehicle begins to shimmy. This has mainly occurred on the highways, where the speed limit is higher, but the problems has also occurred on side streets. It occurs only when accelerating, not in deceleration.

2011 Ford F-150 lariat 5.0. 132,000 miles. 16N02 ' molded leadframe extended coverage ' 2011-2012 Ford & Lincoln. My F-150 built in January 2011 at Kansas City assembly is not covered by the current extended warranty coverage due to the range of months covered in 2011. My truck downshifted while driving.the wrench indicator illuminated and the truck would only go into 5th gear after I stopped and cycled the key. When driving to the dealership in limp mode, it downshifted again and was stuck in 3rd gear. Dealer is replacing the lead frame, electrical sleeve, and the necessary filter, fluid, and pan gasket. They admit it is the same issue as the tsb but I am not covered. Ford customer service was unwilling to help. Lucky for me this issue happened on a back road close to home. It is obvious this is a known defect and I would like to see the current coverage extended to include all affected vehicles. Ford should not be making money in the service lane off this defective transmission safety issue. I don't just feel that myself and others should be reimbursed. I know we should.

Our Ford F150 has manifested several dangerous factory malfunctions as other vehicles with the same make, model and year. There are at least 4 Ford recalls / customer satisfaction program extensions that our truck should be entitled to but isn't. we need help with getting Ford to cover the cost of repairing our vehicle under at least one of the following recalls: ' recall number 16V24800 power train automatic transmission ' recall number 11V582000 power train automatic transmission ' recall number 12V190000 power train: Auto trans: Control module (tcm, PCM) ' recall number 10V659000 structure body (internal short / fire hazard) ' customer satisfaction program warrantee extension 16S19 we are forced to keep our truck off the road until we can afford a few thousand to replace the powertrain control module software, lead frame and possibly transmission. The truck spontaneously shifts into lower gears when driving at about 20-55 miles per hour. This causes the truck to hesitate in the middle of the road when driving. It simultaneously makes a 'honk' sound. There were a few occasions where the truck shifted into park when I hit the breaks or it shifted into reverse when I intended to go into drive. Clearly issues with the transmission and the vacuum pump pose serious safety hazards to our family and other people. We would greatly appreciate help in getting Ford to extend some of the manufacture warrantees and recalls to our Ford F150 so that we could return to using our family/work truck safely. We thank you in advance for any good advice or help that you may have to offer.
