I was driving down the highway at 60 mph a car pull over into lane in front of me? I stepped on the brakes and they were as hard as a rock, luckily I steered to the aide of the highway and down shifted till the truck came to a rolling stop, the brake and the parking brake light are on and the brakes were still as hard as a rock, I tried shutting the truck off and restarting, and still the same result, I put the truck in drive after awhile and kept messing with it pushing as hard as could on the brake pedal and I got a little bit of brakes, after driving a few miles they started working again, now I'm afraid waiting wondering if it's not gonna work again, it's dangerous, it's my main vehicle and most of my family randomly uses it. I've had a lot of problems with this truck.

Extremely hard brake pedal, vehicle will not stop easily in normal braking conditions, if pedal is pumped repeatedly red brake light and check brake system warning appear. If key is cycled on then off warnings go away but brake pedal feels the same. After extensive research I found vacuum pump (non electric) leaking oil. I replaced it and the same issues still happen. I've found 2 recalls that don't apply to my truck. One recall states the master cylinder seal is leaking which causes the brake pedal to go to the to floor. The other is a stiff pedal but that one was for an electric vacuum pump issue. Please help before Ford kills me. Also. I asked my local dealership (bell Ford) for tsbs regarding this and was denied the information. This should be classified as a safety recall that never ever expires!!!!!!!!!

The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. While driving, the brakes seized when the brake pedal was depressed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the brake pads and rotors were replaced. The failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the mechanic where the piston, rotors, brake line, brake pads, and brake fluid were replaced; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to big country Ford Lincoln (500 w commerce St, brownwood, tx 76801, (325) 643-1651), but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures and referred the contact to NHTSA. The failure mileage was 94,000.

My truck has a 5.0 motor but is experiencing the exact same thing as this recall that only affects trucks with a 3.5 motor. I have to refill the reservoir about once a month whether I am driving it or not. Got into my truck this morning and brake pedal went to the floor and in the display it showed low brake fluid. I filled up the reservoir and pumped brakes and they were good so I drove down the road about 15 miles and pedal went to the floor again and the display said low brake fluid. Got vehicle back to house and filled it back up with brake fluid and pumped brakes and no leaks but still losing fluid. Checked online and found Ford had a recall of the brake reservoir leaking fluid into the booster but it was for August 2013 and my truck was made in June of 2013 so I didn't get a recall. Dealership confirmed this is what's happening to my truck. Ford needs to take a look at this and include more vehicles in this recall before someone gets killed because their brakes fail.

Vehicle was pulling a light-weight trailer when all of a sudden the brakes would not work. We glided over to the edge of the highway and drifted until we were able to slow. The brakes would work slightly when pressed extremely hard. The brake failure lights appeared. We have a 2013 F150 with the exact problems as the recalled trucks--but, our VIN/truck is not included.

My 2013 F150 was parked under my carport and I got in it to move it and hook up a small trailer. The warning light came on saying low brake fluid. I had a bottle and filled it. Got back in and moved 20 feet and had no brake pedal at all and the warning was on again. I checked and it is empty again. I saw online that this was a problem with many 2013 F150 trucks. And that there was a recall on this. Called the service dept. And was told that my truck was not covered by the recall !! I see no leaks so it must be the brake master cylinder and or booster !! but now I am not able to drive it to get repaired and have limited income being disabled !! so my complaint is if others of this same year and model F150 were in a recall for the exact same problem, then why is my F150 not covered in the recall. If I had been driving this truck when the brakes completely failed I could have easily been killed or have killed someone else !!! why did I get screwed and not covered by the recall "?"

Brake master cylinder failure. The master cylinder has developed a leak that caused brake fluid to drain into the brake booster, then causing the engine to suck brake fluid into the motor. The brake pedal went straight to the floor. This could of potentially caused an accident, or even a death if the problem was not noticed sooner. The vehicle almost lost all braking force which could of killed someone. Ford is denying to fix the recall #16S24 for the vehicle because it was not manufactured during the years of the recall. Problem is the issue the vehicle has is the exact same issue taken care of in the mentioned recall, for the exact same make and model truck.

I was driving on a highway at 55 miles/H pulling a trailer with a light load. The truck suddenly went from normal engine sound to a louder and louder sound and it slowed down as if I was been dragged backward. The engine sound felt like the truck had down shifted from a higher to a lower gear and was braking on its own while I was trying to compensate by giving more gas so that I could pullover safely. Within a minute the truck stopped still, there was smoke and fire that spread rapidly through the cabine and engine. We nearly escaped. I was unable to completely clear the trailer off the road as the truck had completely stopped. The truck burned completely. Before reporting this incident I called Ford, provided my VIN number and asked whether there had been any recent recalls on my F150. Ford confirmed that a recall (# 19S07) that impacted my VIN was issued in Feb, 2019. However, I do not remember receiving any notification from my Ford dealership.
