  • 65,000 miles
Driving on a two-lane highway, vehicle shifted into first gear at 35 - 40 mph resulting in a sudden jolt, speedometer went to zero. After the jolt, vehicle shifted back up into third gear and speedometer started working. This has happened at least three times, always at a similar speed and when coasting (no throttle, no brake applied). Recent software recall has been done and the problem persists.

2013 Ford F-150 ecoboost with 62000 miles. Currently giving cel code P0016. This is the timing chain stretch issue. Makes it difficult to accelerate to pass a vehicle. Should not have this issue with 62K miles. Now that I am 2K miles out of power train warranty it is not covered even though I had it to dealer for service and nothing was ever mentioned with this issue. I have had the rattle for some time.

While driving the 2013 Ford 150 ecoboost, it suddenly lost power, the wrench light came on.... tried accelerating but was not able to...had to find a way to move out of the street before something happened and have someone crash the back....horrible experience..after finding a place to park, turned the truck off...when turned it back on was working fine again while driving the 2013 Ford F150 ecoboost. It suddently lost power, the wrench light came on, I tried to accelerate but was not able to. I had to pull over to the side of the road, turn off the truck and turn it back on. When I turned it back on it was working fine again. This has happened multiple times during the week. And Ford is no help unless the check engine light comes on. It's is super unsafe to drive, yet Ford says to keep driving the vehicle.

One of the current recall issues. At any speed transmission shifts from whatever gear it's in to 1st gear. Happened to me at 70mph. Ford is aware issue. Will not have a fix for 2 to 3 months. They still recommend driving vehicle even though at any time this could happen. They offer no rental or loaner support. If you keep driving vehicle this way it will also ruin transmission but they will not fix it.

Was driving my eco boost while towing a 26 foot travel trailer and while in 4th gear truck instantly and without warning shifted into 1st gear causing rpms to be dangerously high. The truck/trailer combo instantly slowed and truck would not, automatically or manually, shift out of first gear. We continued driving in first gear for a short distance when we smelled transmission fluid. We stopped the truck to investigate and found our transmission line had busted which leaked fluid all over the road. We had truck towed to local Ford dealership who told us that the transmission shifting issue is related to a current recall but Ford has not issued a fix for the recall. The dealer then charged me $568.21 to fix the transmission line stating that Ford has not included the transmission line fix in their related recall. Ford is refusing to pay associated towing expenses, as well. I called Ford customer relations to lodge a complaint regarding this issue and was told the dealer makes final decisions. Case id # cas-17653886. Ford tells me I need to continue to drive this truck knowing there is a transmission issue until Ford releases a fix for these transmissions. I feel it is completely unsafe to drive knowing this could happen at any given moment while driving and especially for a truck that is already known to have had this happen.

2013 Ford F-150 ecoboost 6-cyl with six speed transmission. A few weeks ago I received Ford recall 19S07, stating that the vehicle may unexpectedly downshift to 1st gear increasing the possibility of an accident. It also stated that the software needed to correct this condition was not expected to be completed for several months and that I would be notified when it was ready. Since receiving the recall notice, the vehicle experienced the issue noted in the recall. This happened while my 17 year old was driving on a two-lane road at 55mph - the vehicle downshifted without warning, causing the vehicle to skid abruptly, nearly throwing him against the steering wheel. We immediately took it to the dealership and they said 5th gear was cracked. The dealership told me I would be responsible for the repair and that it would cost between $3500 and $5000. I contacted Ford via their website to tell them that I should not be responsible for this. I was told the vehicle was out of warranty and that if I had issues I should communicate with the dealership. The vehicle remains at the dealership because I'm assuming it is not safe to drive until repaired.

Truck will shift from 1 to 3 when starting. It will also shift from 1 to 5 when starting, creating a dangerous condition when pulling into traffic as it will barely get moving. The truck will also sometimes will not shift out of 1 from a start. Shutting off the engine and allowing the computer to reset usually fixes the problem temporarily.

Vehicle intermittently sputters when accelerating from a stop and also when the vehicle is in motion. I replaced the ignition coil and spark plug in cylinder 3. unfortunately, the intermittent sputter continues to be an issue as well as the check engine light being activated. Accelerating in traffic and from a stop is dangerous and requires additional attention and driving techniques to prevent a potential rear end collision caused by a vehicle approaching my vehicle from the rear.
