19S07 transmission downshifting from 6th to 1st. I experienced the exact symptoms for the recall. I took the truck to the dealer lou fusz they told me that it was a tranmission sensor and stated it would be over $900 to fix it. The work was performed and the truck has not done it since. I received the notice and called Ford and they are denying the claim to reimburse for the repairs that were made because the truck had done the downshift more than 10 times. The last time was the only time Ford dealer told me they found the solution. This is not been handled correctly and I am not wanting to take the truck back on the highway after going from 70 mph down to 1st gear locking up the truck and sliding.

In February 2018 my 2013 Ford F-150 while driving at approximately 50 to 60 mph the truck would without warning slam into first gear and causing the rear tires to skid for a split second. This truck is the vehicle that my wife uses on a daily basis to commute and to run our kids back and forth from school and sporting events so to me it was very unpredictable and extremely dangerous situation to be put in without warning this is you happened.this issue happened several times over a period of about 2 to 3 weeks and started to occur more frequently. We took it to the service department at ken garff Ford in american fork Utah where we originally purchase the vehicle they looked it over and recommended changing out the entire transmission I got online did some research read through several different forms and found out that this is something that was happening to the 2011/2012 F-150S so I knew that it wasn't a full transmission issue that something else was going on so I took it to larry miller Ford in provo Utah described what the problem was they sounded to be more confident and sounded like they had dealt with the same issue on other F150S. They did their tests and did say that it was the molded lead frame was issue and that that it needed to be changed out and gave me a quote to get it fixed. I agreed to get the work done. The repairs were done to the transmission and it has been working flawlessly ever since. In March 2019 we received the letter stating the safety recall for our exact situation. NHTSA 19V- 075. Called Ford Motor Company trying to get a refund and they refused saying it's only a software update that doesn't even exist yet. So that makes no since why they won't reimburse us for the issue that was fixed by their service department.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. While driving approximately 50 mph and attempting to apply the brakes, the gear downshifted on its own. Also, the wrench symbol and check engine indicator illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was coasted over to the side of the road. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the transmission failed. The vehicle was towed to plaza Ford (410-838-3100, located at 1701 bel air rd, bel air, md 21014) where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that NHTSA campaign number: 19V075000 (power train) was only for the reprogramming of the power train control module. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 163,000.

While accelerating from a stop, transmission shifts from 1st to 5th. This prevents the vehicle from accelerating properly. Must pull over and restart vehicle to reset the transmission to 1st. Very dangerous when pulling into traffic!! while driving at 70 mph on the interstate highway with the cruise control engaged the vehicle will shift to 5th. Cruise control goes out, speedometer goes to 0, odometer goes blank. Check engine and airbag lights come on, truck goes into limp mode (doesn't want to accelerate). See picture of instrument panel, I was driving @ 65-70mph at the time. Must pull over and restart vehicle to reset transmission. This has happened sporadically many times. At least my vehicle hasn't shifted from 6th to 1st like so many others I've read about...yet!!!!

While driving at 70mph noticed my truck had down shifted into 5th gear, I slowed to pull over and noted the airbag light was on, the wrench indicator and speedometer was at zero. My truck suddenly down shifted to 1st gear at approximately 25-30 mph. I was able to stop safely at the shoulder and turned the ignition off and restarted. My truck started normally. I went to Ford huntington beach and described the situation. After evaluating dealer stated trans fluid full, poss lead frame damage and valves getting stuck. $1600! I informed the dealer of the pending recall for the transmission on this vehicle and was informed that it only covered a software upgrade. Damage caused by a known fault should be covered by the manufacturer.

Feb 19, 2019 started experiencing drive train problems. While driving my truck it would suddenly downshift into first gear and will not change gears, also from a stand still the vehicle will not change gears from a stop and start. On Feb 21, 2019 I took my vehicle to precision Ford dealership of lillington, nc where a tsb 13-6-8, (obdii data code P070) open recall 19S07 was diagnosed. They were aware of the open recall but could not repair it until approved by the Ford company. I contacted the Ford company on Mar 8, 2019. They will not have the software available until the second quarter of this year to make the necessary repairs, and they will not reimburse me if I pay to have my vehicle repaired. I feel this decision is unprofessional of the Ford company and a total inconvenience for me to be without transportation with no indication or timeframe of when I can get my vehicle repaired. At this rate my vehicle will be inoperative for no less than 2 - 3 months which I feel is no fault of mine but a lack of expediency on behalf of the Ford company.

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2011-2013 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission (recall #19S07). The transmission may unexpectedly downshift into first gear, regardless of vehicle speed. I received a recall notice (letter) from Ford informing me of this issue. Problem is my truck has been downshifting from 6th gear to first without warning for the past month (Feb.-March 2019). I notified Ford Motor Co. And was informed your vehicle has a defective part and this recall doesn't cover this. According to Ford, the recall is only a software download to override this issue. The recall letter stated my truck was safe to drive (really!!) I scheduled a appointment with a local transmission service center to inspect and repair. I don't trust the local Ford dealerships. Thanks Ford Motor Co, for all your help.. this recall is a bunch of bs!!

Ford recall 19S07 under this program, it is only a software fix to program the vehicle to ignore the symptoms of failure. The software patch programs the computer to ignore errors in the oss sensor. This could mask true problems with the oss and thus the transmission as a whole. Further, it could cause a catastrophic failure of the transmission, engine, or both. Our vehicle started experiencing the symptoms described in this recall on or about February 10, 2019. As my wife was accelerating onto the highway, it shuttered and downshifted into first gear. After a few moments, the vehicle shifted back up normally. As soon as the recall was issued, I scheduled an appoint with andy mohr Ford in plainfield, in to have the vehicle repaired on or about February 26, 2019. I was informed that the software patch for the 2013 models will not be available until the second quarter of 2019. I advised the service representative that we were experiencing the issues described. I was advised that the vehicle was not safe to drive. I contacted Ford's customer care and was advised the same thing but that they would not provide a rental vehicle in the interim until the fix was issued. On or about March 5, 2019, I spoke with the service representative with andy mohr Ford again and was advised that the software patch would not actually fix the issue of the transmission downshifting. Further, it was stated that the vehicle is not safe to drive. Further, that this fix would simply mask the issue that was potentially wrong with the vehicle and that Ford would not cover the repair for the actual defect.
