The night I picked up my truck (3/4/19) it lost signal to output speed sensor before I got to the intersection of route 30 and 340 and was stuck in fifth gear the whole way home. The truck has been losing speed sensor signal and locking itself in either third gear or fifth gear repeatedly all day long ever since. Today (3/11/19) it shifted to first gear while going 55 mph and put the truck into a slide/skid twice - both times in traffic, once put me into oncoming traffic.

January 28, 2019 rear electric sliding window (3 piece unit) shattered for no reason. No one hit it, throw anything at it, or shot it. The sound does sound like a someone shot at you. The truck was sitting in the drive warming up as usual (electric start), get in, close the door and boom the driver side rear window panel shatters. Take it back to the place we bought it and they told us there was nothing they could do. Warranty would not cover either. Safelight ordered us a window, installed it, and proceeded to tell us that this has happen to many Ford trucks before. We were Dodge truck people until the air bag recall, changed to Ford and this happens, whats next" this seems like a big problem when Ford has numerous people complaining about the same problem all over the U.S. this has happened once, will it happen again" I sure hope not. If it should happen when I have my children with me or my elderly parents with me, god forbid they should get hurt by glass, I will be suing. Or even cause me to have an accident while driving.

I used the remote starter in the morning to warm up my truck. As I entered the driver side door and sat down I heard a loud pop almost like a small gun fired. Shortly after I could hear the crunching of the rest of my back window shattering. I could also smell smoke inside the vehicle. After checking on line it seems this is a common issue with the rear de-froster.

I took my truck into red mccombs Ford in san antonio, tx because I had issues with my transmission. I can be driving and it would rev up to 4K RPM without my foot on the acceleration. There are times when I'm driving and it drops into 1st and jars me when it bogs down. Took it in and we paid almost $1000 for repairs to fix it since I feared for my safety. It felt like I had no control of my vehicle. That was in Sept 2018..here we are March 2019 having the same issues. I tried taking it in, but they did not have the offer of a loaner vehicle while they fixed again, so I have had no choice but to drive my truck still. I love my truck...but this is scary driving like this. I don't have a choice because I have to get to work daily. I need a reliable vehicle per I had major surgery last Sept and have had 2 emergency room trips since and cannot afford to get in a wreck or have my truck go out with my health issues. I'm afraid all the jerking is going to cause me issues with my back and safety of my family. I have had to pull over and restart truck to get it to quit revving up, and not rear ending someone.

This morning at about 5:30 am I left to go to the gym and had no problems with my truck. I get home about 7:00 am grab my stuff out of the back and no problems with my truck. Before leaving for work about a half hour later I auto started the truck. I get to the truck to leave for work and I notice my driver side rear window is completely shattered! I did a little research and come to find that this is a reoccurring problem with Ford. Either there is a defect with the window or with rear defrost getting to hot or staying on to long. There were little bits of glass on the seat, what if someone was sitting in the back and the whole window shatters? this is not safe and needs to be fixed!

I was driving on February 12th 2019 and had my defrosters when all of a sudden I heard a loud pop and looked in the rearview mirror to see my back window shattered right over my 2 year old daughter. This is the second time that this has happened in the past 3 years. I stopped and got out and touched the window and burnt my hand with how hot it was.

On 12/31/18 I was operating my vehicle listed in this complaint. While operating I had the rear defroster activated. I arrived home and backed into to my driveway. While reversing I heard a loud pop come from my back window. The entire window was shattered. The window sets in front of the truck bed and did not come into contact with any foreign object. On 1/5/19 while getting the window repaired chafing was found on the defroster wires on the broken window. I called Ford, they advised this was a common problem with F150S but it did not have a recall. I should be reimbursed for my expenses since I did not damage the window. This was not a cheap fix, the shattered glass was popped out from the inside.

When I accelerate on the highway to merge or pass my truck looses power completely can not accelerate. It shudders for about 45 seconds check engine light comes on flashing and it suddenly comes back to life. I took it to my local Ford and they said it was a high pressure pump that needed to be replaced. I replaced it and it is still having the same issue. This seems to be a common issue with these trucks. The more research I have done the more I find about this same issue. Ford should be held liable and recall these trucks for this problem. I now have to take it to another Ford dealership hoping they can figure it out. Last Ford truck I will ever own.

I was driving back from the gas station around 2230 hrs on a winter night. I was going about 35 mph on a city street when I suddenly heard a very loud bang; literally sounded like a gunshot, I quickly looked around, but I didn't notice anything at the time. It was dark at my house when I got home, I walked around the truck but didn't see anything obvious at the time. When I came out the next morning I got into my truck and looked in the rear view mirror and noticed the rear window on the driver side was shattered, no hole, no pieces missing, no obvious signs it was struck. The window is actually bow out a bit like the force was from the inside.

Heater/air blower caught on fire. There was not an obstruction causing the fan/blower to over heat. I caught it soon after the fire started so was able to put it out before the entire vehicle was on fire. The vehicle was stationary in my front driveway and had just started it running to warm up.

I have a 2013 F150 and have a loud noise coming from the engine. After my mechanic looked into it he said it is the timing chain rattling at start up. The truck has only 52000 miles on it. Barely broke in and now has a rough idle and loss of power when driving. My mechanic came up with 4 different codes showing camshaft and crankshaft position correlations. Turbo charger under rest. System to rich bank 1 & 2 and misfire detected at start up. This is a 2013 truck with 52000 miles and Ford is telling me it probably isn't under warranty and could cost around $3500 or more to fix. I see they have had problems with this same issue with the 2011 & 2012 F150S. Internet is full of this same issue. How can they get away with it for 3 years and no recall?

I have a 2013 F-150 ecoboost. I was driving about 50 mph last night, 12/3/18 when it suddenly downshifted, causing the rear brakes to lock and tires squealed. I lurched forward in the seat. The speedometer went down and then back up to 50. It lasted all but seconds. I was able to drive home. I have left it in the garage since it is unsafe to drive at this point until I can get it to the garage. Thankfully the road was dry otherwise I would have skidded out of control. I have about 110,000 miles on the truck. This has not happened before. The past few weeks however it has occasionally not shifted out of 1st or has started in 5th gear. This has been sporadic only. Occasionally, when I start off, it will lurch forward. The vehicle has been maintained and has generally been a very good performing vehicle.

I remote started my truck with the factory remote to warm up the vehicle in my drive way. I start to put my child in his car seat in the left rear side. As im putting my child in I can smell something burning and I can see smoke coming out from behind the seat. I immediately take him out of the truck and turn off the vehicle. As soon as it turns off I hear a loud pop noise almost like a firework going off. I see the rear window is now shattered with pieces of glass falling on my child's car seat. Defroster seemed to burn the trucks rear seat and caused the window to shatter. I did a internet search and found that this is a common issue with the window defroster over-heating and causing the left rear window to shatter. I've reported this issue to Ford within days of this happening and have not heard back from them.
