F-150 4WD 8-cyl

  • 300 miles
Vehicle exhibits a shudder/vibration/shake when starting from a stop. Problem is more apparent with weight on the truck. With approx. 400-500 lbs. Or more problem is most apparent. At 300 miles, the problem became very noticeable. Informed dealer, set appointment. Vehicle had 800 miles at servicing, 2/23/2015. Dealer removed rear driveline and drove the truck with just the front driveline and shudder did not occur. Dealer replaced entire rear driveline and problem persists. After 8 days at the dealer service shop, customer was told the problem is normal, especially with any type of load. 400lb is a load"??? what happens when I attach a tow unit to this vehicle? is this safe? after acknowledging a problem and replacing the driveline, dealer now says this is normal and has something to do with the shocks and computer. But rest assured this is normal. Waiting for Ford factory representative to investigate. Problem is disturbing and one has to wonder what the long term consequences of this shudder is to the vehicle, vehicle driveline, etc. I was told numerous things by people at the dealer; salesperson said it was probably in need of a transmission reflash, shop foreman originally said maybe there was not enough grease on the driveline splines. Now it's the computer and the shocks" I asked the service mgr. Why they replaced the driveline if its a normal situation. He responded that they didn't notice the weight (400-500lbs under the tonneau cover) until after they replaced the driveline. One has to wonder about dealer competency when they apparently know a problems exist with weight on the truck, yet fail to check for weight on the vehicle. Also, is this not some sort of acknowledgement that there is a problem? as of 3/2/2015, the truck is still at the dealer. I've spent less than one week in the truck and over one week in a Ram 1500 rental truck. No new car joy here.

Driving at 30 mph and suddenly an orange wrench shows on the instrument panel. The vehicle is unresponsive and shuts down into a safe mode where I have no power to the gas pedal but it steers and drives very slowly. It has happened 2 times since owning the vehicle for only 7 months, it's a scary position to be in when you're in the flow of traffic and suddenly aren't. I've read on line reports of this incident on several Ford products. I took it to the shop for service and they have no reason it's happening they indicated that since it's an intermittent problem there is nothing they can do to solve it.......nonsense.

I went to turn around off of a paved street. My front right tire feel into the mud. I told my wife we are stuck, then put my truck in four wheel drive, off road mode and sport track mode on the dash. I pulled forward about a foot or so and was stopped by something, I then went backwards. I repeated this for about five times. My daughter was hysterical for just being stuck, I turned and told her to calm down, when I turned back around I saw fire in the driver side mirror, I told my family " it's on fire, get out". I opened my door to get our and was engulfed by flames, I quickly exited the passenger side door. I yelled for my daughter three times, she had ran a long way away from the truck, because she was frightened. When I had her in my sight I started filming. She had exited out over the top of my son on the passenger side as well. My son said he heard a spewing noise while I was telling my 8 year old daughter to calm down. He slung my daughter out when he saw me become engulfed in flames. I was off the road less than a minute before I saw the flames, I started filming well within two minutes of being off the road and my 2014, ruby red, special edition one of a kind Ford F150, svt raptor was completely engulfed in flames in less than five minutes. Cause of fire is undetermined.

Was traveling behind two vehicle doing approximately 50 mph in a 75. Went to pass and pressed the accelerator, and nothing happened. The vehicle starting shuddering, and stalled as I pulled along side the first vehicle. I let off the accelerator and attempted it again, still nothing. With loss of power, I had to move towards the shoulder since over taking the vehicle was impossible. The lasted for approximately 10 seconds, during which the check engine was flashing. Approximately 2 months prior, it happened while driving to dallas, but not to this extent. Weather condition for both incident was heavy rain, and I had been driving in rain for several hours. Engine code showed P0306 for cyl 6 misfire.

While accelerating the truck will make a whining/groaning noise coming from the transmission area and will go away once the truck has finished accelerating to the speed limit. The whole truck will also jump making a noticeable thud while shifting into reverse with the truck stationary and the brakes applied, it will occasionally do the same shifting into drive, again while stationary. When I park the truck on a incline big or small the truck will make a loud buzzing noise coming from underneath and a vibration can be felt that will last a few seconds to a minute, the sound can be heard shifting through P, N, D, R as well. The last issue occurs when the outside temps are cold and I drive the truck 15-20mins with a average speed of 50mph. I have taken the truck to the dealer who attempted to fix the issue to no avail. I have spoke with another dealer's service manager who was not very helpful in solving my issue. I'm currently in touch with a Ford regional customer service representative and in the process of going back to a dealer.
