The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. While driving approximately 65 mph, the oss in the transmission failed and the vehicle immediately lost power. The wrench icon and the check engine indicators illuminated as the vehicle was failing. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the oss failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and was unable to associate the failure with a recall. The contact was referred to NHTSA. The VIN was unknown. The approximate failure mileage was 88,000.

F-150 at 34,000 miles, under warranty, and only serviced by Ford mechanics - when towing 6,500 lb trailer I receive message "transmission overheating powering down". truck then gears itself down and does not exceed 45 mph. This consistently now occurs when engine temperature hits 215. When towing I can not exceed 55 mph or temperature immediately climbs to 215 and transmission overheats. I have to pull over and let engine cool. This problem started in May 2017 and has never previously occurred. Courtesy Ford in pocatello, id repeatedly states there is nothing wrong and refuses to take any corrective action. Because of this issue I have cancelled several camping vactions for my family as I fear truck will suffer a severe breakdown and courtesy Ford will again refuse to honor warranty service.

I previously files a complaint about this vehicle. After diagnostics and repairs being done, it turns out that it is the lead frame that has gone bad. This is the same issue with the recall of the 2011-2012 F150's NHTSA campaign # 16V248000 and Ford recall campaign# 16S19. Our vehicle has the same transmission 6R80 and was built in the dearborn Michigan plant. Our vehicle was unfortunately out of warranty by 400 miles on this issue so we had to pay out of pocket. This year vehicle should have been included in the recall from 2016 and I have done enough research to see that there are many people all over the internet complaining of the exact same issue in the 2014 F150's. maybe Ford should be forced to recall the 2014's for this safety issue before someone gets hurt!!! this issue caused our vehicle at 55 mph to come to a skidding halt on a very busy highway!! we could have had a serious accident!!

Almost had several accidents due to a downshift into first gear while driving at approx 55 mph. The truck downshifted into first gear, rear wheels locked up and I was barely able to get it off to the side of the road. I see on the internet that this has been happening to many Ford F150's. saw a recall for the exact same thing but it only applied to 2011 and 2012 Ford F150's. all owners felt that their year vehicle should be included in recall. I feel that the 2014 should definitely be included in the recall. My 2014 is doing exactly what the 2011 and 2012's have been recalled for. I only have 60K highway miles on this truck!! below you ask for dates of this happening. It has happened many times. The dealership has ignored this. I will post the most recent date that it happened.

3.5 eco boost engine runs rough at times and when passing at highway speeds sometimes goes into "safe mode" and shuts down to idle when under full acceleration. Mileage is constantly going down, from 22mpg to 13mpg. Dealer says this is new to them.the dealer said they found tracks on the spark plugs and changed them, new plug wires were supposedly bad, replaced both turbos. Still no difference.I have a video of this happening with the eng check light coming on and after the dealer said there was no indication of this in obd2 memory.

Upon driving after start up, the truck will experience a harsh up shift when shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear. The truck will lurch forward violently. After operating, the harsh up-shift will go away. I have brought the truck to the dealer, and they cannot determine what is causing the harsh shift.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at a high speed, various warning indicators flickered and the vehicle coasted in reverse. The contact was able to coast the vehicle over to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to a dealer who stated that the transmission needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 16,000.

Acceleration lag in a rolling or standing start. Most noticeable when stopped with truck facing uphill or slowing to a near stop and then slowly accelerating (slowing for a stop light that turns green as you approach the intersection). Once acceleration kicks in, the vehicle jumps as if the transmission has dropped from neutral to being into gear at increased RPM's or the clutch has slipped. Gear indicator doesn't show vehicle had ever dropped into neutral. If acceleration rate is increased from stop or rolling start, problem does not seam to occur. Problem was noticed from beginning of ownership and has been intermittent ever since (truck was purchased new in March 2015). Have not taken to dealer for diagnosis as it is intermittent, but talked to a non-Ford mechanic that had heard of other people noticing acceleration lag.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. While attempting to accelerate from a stop light, the vehicle jerked and sounded as if it would stall. The vehicle suddenly accelerated and was taken to a local dealer, but no failures could be found. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA to file a complaint. The failure mileage was 14,000.

At approximately 12,600 miles on my newly purchased vehicle, I experienced brake vibration, a hesitation and jerk in transmission at low accelerating speed or slowing down and then accelerating, and a loud whining noise from rear end between 60-65 miles per hour. I took it to river city Ford and they turned the rotors for the brakes. I told river city Ford that was unacceptable for a new vehicle and by turning the rotors they just reduced the life of the rotors for a new vehicle. I also told them that the brake pads should be replaced also. I contacted Ford Corp and they would not take any action and would not let me talk to anyone higher than a customer service supervisor. River city Ford has had my vehicle in the shop since 7/20/2015. They have tried shimming ring and pinion in rear end and it did not fix the problem. They have tried various things and has not fixed the problem. They claim that adding grease to the transmission supposedly fixed the jerking when accelerating. Ford Corp has wasted a lot of time trying to fix a known problem by Ford. My research shows the rear end issue has existed for years and many customers have experienced the problem. Brake vibration, transmission jerking, and loud humming from the rear end are all safety issues, that if a failure occurs, could result in an accident at high speed.

I have been having problems with the engine and brakes since I bought this truck. I have had it to the dealer numerous times and they throw parts at it and it does not fix it. At beginning of acceleration there is a dead spot in the throttle and when you push past it slightly you find the vehicle accelerates rapidly and sometimes spins the drive tires. A few days ago I was pulling out into a break in traffic that was more than adequate and the engine started O.K. then hesitated putting me in danger of being hit by now closely approaching traffic. When I bring the truck to the dealer they try their best to find the problem but can't.they said it was bad turbos and replaced them that did nothing to help, they also said the plug wire boots had tracks on them and the spark plugs were misfiring, all was replaced to no avail. Also when you are driving at city speeds and push the throttle to pass or accelerate in traffic there is a noticeable lag in depressing the throttle and the engine responding. This is also a dangerous problem.I brought the truck in for overly sensitive brakes and I was told by one service writer that the tech found fluid in the booster and another writer said it was assembly lube. They changed the booster but not the master cylinder.

This has truck has a shudder or vibration from starting out from 1 to 10 miles an hour and additionally when passing and driving on the highway. There is also an acceleration delay at all speeds. This truck is equipped with the 3.5L eco boost engine. These issues are especially more noticeable when there is a load on the truck such as a topper and luggage, etc.

As I accelerate, the truck seems to going into neutral for about three seconds. Then it reengages and jerks violently. I have taken the truck to the dealership twice. The first time, they reprogrammed it but didn't repair the issue. This last time, the technician told me to pick up M truck because they couldn't recreate the issue I was experiencing. Another technician stated it was the eco-boost but that Ford was side stepping the issue because they couldn't find how to fix it. This is a safety issue because last time this occurred, I was changing lanes on interstate 10 and almost caused an accident.
