I was travelling down the highway at near 60 mph and without warning the truck shuttered and shifted to first gear. This nearly started and chain reaction crash with myself and 3 other vehicles as I was nearly rear ended, I also could've easily lost control. Had I been towing my travel trailer at the time this would have caused a major accident without question. 2 codes were thrown at this time P0720 and P0722, this comes back to a Lead Frame issue with the transmission. I took the truck to my local dealer and they stated they couldn't get the issue to happen again and that there was nothing wrong as they could tell because the codes do not store. The only symptom prior to was all the went blank just before the truck shuttered and went to first gear.

The automatic transmission shifts when it should not. As I drive it shifts down into lower gears and once actually shifted down into 1st gear as I was traveling at 40 miles per hour. When this occurs the speedometer needle jumps up and down erratically. Occasionally when I try to leave from a standing stop, stop light or stop sign, the tachometer revs up as it normally would but the truck moves very slowly. I should be accellerated to 20 or so mph but the truck is moving at slower than walking speed. I stop, put the truck in park and repeat the procedure and it usually accelerates normally. Dealer took pan off, complete failure. Large metal chunks on pan. No warnings or indicators lite up on dash. Ongoing, re-occuring. Vehicle currently has 130k miles

There is a recall for this same vehicle, but only 2011-2013 year models for the transmission lead frame in the 6R80 transmission. I am experiencing the same part failure, and according to online forums and the fact the part is on extreme back order through all Ford dealerships, the recall should be extended to 2014 year makes as well. My truck is beginning to experience Output Speed Sensor failure symptoms. I was on the freeway a couple times now, driving at normal speeds (65 Mph), when the speedometer started jumping vigorously, then down to zero a few times, causing the transmission to suddenly lock my tires for a second. This is extremely concerning and is putting a my life as well as others at a HUGE risk. Thankfully the tires didn't lock for long and the roads were dry. This could have ended very badly. I plan to do the repair ASAP but it seems like 2014 year models are also affected by this recall (19N01)

Later in the day, driving home from work, it started bucking and and the instrument cluster started going crazy. It started accelerating and I had to hit the brakes. It never threw any codes. A couple days later driving I had no power, and instrument cluster went crazy again. I seen a wrench and finally threw a code. I keep a code reader in my truck, it threw po720. It started driving fine after I turned it off and back on. I went home and read about the Ford F150 lead frame recall and my truck was made at the same plant. However Ford says, I am not covered. I do not understand how they can cover trucks a couple months before mine.

On 3 separate occasions I've been going 55-65 mph on the highway and the truck will downshift abruptly and harshly jerking the truck at high speeds. The reason for my complaint is that my vehicle is not covered. My truck is 6 days outside the build date in the program but has the exact same issue.

MY 2014 F 150 5.0 has the 6 speed auto trans. transmission will downshift while running highway speeds or speed over 50 mph. On 09/13/2022 the rear wheeI's locked up for a brief moment causing the rear of the truck to fishtail while I was running 70 mph on the highway. I was able to control the truck and was able to pull off to the side of the road safely this time. turned the truck off and let it reset for a few minutes and it was fine. the second time this happened I was on my way to drop my kids off at the babysitter so I can go to work and it done it again only this time the wheels didn't lock up and it downshifted from 6th to 2nd. Once again i pull over and shut the truck off and let it reset for a little while and it was fine. I am a single father of 5 young kids and this has happened twice in the last 2 weeks with them in the vehicle, this is our only means of transportation. hopefully ford gets this taken care of.

This is crazy, you can buy a truck with the same dangerous issue and it's not being fixed by Ford.

I have a 2014 Ford F150 tremor eco-boost. The vehicle has 104,000 miles on it. For the past couple of weeks I-??ve been noticing the vehicle will randomly feel like it-??s losing power in the RPMs will oscillate for a few seconds and then the vehicle feels like it drops into gear. I wasn-??t sure what was going on I had no trouble codes. Finally one day I started driving I got up to about 50 miles an hour and I noticed the RPM started oscillating little and I also noticed that at the same time it was shifting from six gear to fifth gear back-and-forth and then suddenly the vehicle dropped in the first gear the rear tires locked up and almost lost control of the vehicle. Fortunately no one was behind me. This is a very dangerous condition. I called the Ford dealer and I have an appointment to bring the vehicle in i-??m not sure how successful that will be since I don-??t have a trouble code and the vehicle does this randomly. It will be a long time before I trust this truck again if ever.

I was almost rear ended it was very heart stopping. I dont know why there was a recall on just the 2011-2013 Trucks. My vehicle was built at the Deerfield MI plant same as the others just November of 2013 instead of October 2013 when they closed out the recall. I tried to get it analyzed by a Ford dealership but they gave no appointments for over month out in May! I need my vehicle for work. I'm an essential employee with USPS. Luckily I am close to my office and can take back roads, I can not drive this on the highway! They need to recall all vehicles built at the 2 plants straight through 2013 thus is very dangerous and now I will have to go to my mechanic and if recall does come through. I certainly hoe Ford will honor repair costs done at a non dealership ad I cant get an appointment for over a month!!
