F-150

  • 56,000 miles
The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. While driving 80 mph, the check engine warning indicator illuminated and there were abnormal roaring and knocking sounds coming from the engine. The vehicle was taken to highway Ford (18982 johnnie B hall memorial hwy, deridder, la 70634, (337) 462-5497) where it was diagnosed that there was a loose electrical connector in the engine compartment that was not seated correctly. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 56,000.

The vehicle hesitates, idles roughly when cold and makes a knocking type noise at idle when hot. The coolant level has gone down substantially despite having it serviced recently. We have experienced large amounts of water dripping from the tail pipe along with the occasional puff of thick smoke. The vehicle misfires and it has been verified by a scan tool (my own and Ford). Ford's technicians have verified the concern but have told us that without a hard fault, they are not able to look into the problem further. This issue has been brought to their attention several times with no resolution. While it may be related or unrelated, the transmission also jerks when slowing down and has a tendency to lurch forward when going from 3-2-1 gears. This has also been verified by Ford and they have made two attempts using tsb 16-0015 to resolve without any improvement.

Almost exactly the same experience as incident numbers 11090030, 11063919, and 11048673. There may be others, but, I didn't go any further. I was driving on a bridge without any safety shoulders and the vehicle suddenly lost all power, "hill start assist not available" indicator came on, "service advance trac" indicator came on, and "see manual" indicator came on with the wrench symbol. After nearly being rear-ended by another car, I was able to coast to an off ramp and pull over. The truck was shaking violently. I shut it off and then restarted it and was able to get back over the bridge but then the same exact scenario happened again on the other side. On the way home, it happened a couple more times but I was able to get it home. I scheduled a service appointment at a Ford dealer to take the truck in on Monday. The vehicle has about 43,000 miles on it. As I mentioned earlier, I was almost rear-ended by another vehicle when this occurred, so, this is an extremely dangerous malfunction.

Truck was in park with the engine running. Nobody was in the truck which was on a slight incline. It was standing still in the back yard while I was trying to get the garage door closed. It took off going through a chainlink fence, across a neighbors yard, and came to rest on a bank on the other side of the neighbors yard. The fence and brush caused several heavy scratches to the truck.

Truck will idle rough and stall periodically giving a checj engine light and when driving on the highway, in the street or making turns any time that the RPM is close to 500 (idle). Makes waiting for turns dangerous as the truck my unexpectedly turn off while moving. 3 dealers have been unable to resolve the issue started at 29,000 miles and have been thrown around until 40,000 miles now. They refuse to acknowledge my complaints and this truck isnt very safe to drive.

I had my truck towed to auto fair Ford and had to have the fuel pump replaced with $100 extended warranty and the car is a year old. After fixing it they were having issues with it not starting and called Ford to trouble shoot the issue. Today 3/2/18 they called to say a mouse or rodent chewed through the wiring. I have lived I'm my home since 1999 and many cars in the drive way this has never happened before. My brother said the wiring is soy based. I called Liberty mutual insurance and comprehensive has a $500 deductible. They will look at the truck 3/5/18 at auto fair Ford in manchester nh. I now have to pay$600 to a vehicle I have owned less then 5 months to auto fair Ford. Seems odd this is happing on a new vehicle

For the last year my car have been leaking fumes and smelling of carbon monoxide. I have complained to mission valley Ford, big valley Ford and all star Ford. When I start the vehicle there is white smoke and a strong fume. They said it's the ecoboost. Secondly the turbo they say has gone out already at 87K miles and I believe the smell and the turbo is connected.

While driving on a busy highway with no warning my F-150 lost power. When this happened the drive power decreased by about 95%, and warnings appeared on the dashboard. These warnings included: Service advance trac, hill descent fault, see manual, airbag fault, and the service wrench. The engine idled roughly and the vehicle had to be turned off. We restarted and the same issues occurred so we parked the vehicle.

On three occasions my truck has lost all power, once in a parking lot and twice while cruising at 45 mph.outside temps 65 deg. And roads were smooth. Air bag light, wrench icon, service advance trac come on. Engine will remain idling regardless of gas pedal position.the engine is running on maybe 4 cyls. After the engine is turned off and restarted it will act normally. This truck is the 3.5 ecoboost with 11,000 miles on it and has been in service for 18 months.

  • 10,400 miles
As I was driving about 40 mph, the truck suddenly decelerated to almost a stand still. Two messages appeared on the dash board info system. Service needed for hill assist and advance trac, or something similar. I had to drive home, half mile, at a walking pace which was as fast as the truck would go. There was no warning. This is a deadly flaw. How could you not have Ford F150 in your database?

F-150

  • 9,400 miles
Truck lost engine power. Truck was still running, but pressing the accelerator did nothing. Electrical system still functioned (power steering and lights) and brakes worked normally. When this occurred, the truck started dinging, the airbag light lit up, and the productivity screen showed a 'hill descent control disabled' error message, airbag error, other errors and the wrench icon. Engine was still running, but idling very rough, like it had dropped a cylinder, and the truck was shuddering as it was idling both in gear, and in park. Resumed normal ops on restart. Dealer replace throttle body under tsb-16-0193 but this should be elevated to a full recall

  • 6,000 miles
The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. While driving 35 mph, the vehicle lost total power as it rumbled and shook. Also, various warning indicators illuminated, including the powertrain fault, stability control, air bag, and check service manual. The contact stated that the running board failed to retract. The contact pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road and restarted the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to Ford & Lincoln of smithtown (440 jericho turnpike, St james, NY 11780(631) 265-2340), but the cause of the failure could not be duplicated or diagnosed. When the contact retrieved the vehicle several hours later, the failure recurred and the vehicle was towed back to the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but did not assist. The failure mileage was approximately 6,000.

2016 F150 with the 2.7L ecoboost randomly dies after startup. Sometimes it will die while in motion almost causing an accident. There's no stored codes for the dealer. It's been in the shop 6 times total. The first time they put a crankcase vent sensor and then the 2nd time sparkplugs. It's dies and gone into limp mode multiple times but the dealer can't duplicate the problem so they can't fix it. It started at 9,000 miles and it now has 14,000 miles. I'm pretty sure it's the throttle body but they won't replace it without a code. It has happened randomly from March 2017 until today 8-13-17. I also have a recording saved on my snap-on scan tool of the parameters at the time it went into limp mode.

Engine cuts out with error lights on dash, no throttle response or power. This is very dangerous as it happened on a busy interstate at around 70mph. We had to get the vehicle to the shoulder without power narrowly avoiding other vehicles and large trucks. This fault endangered the life of my family!! they have tried to repair this vehicle already by replacing the throttle pedal.

The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. While driving at any speed, the vehicle made noises from the engine and transmission areas. The contact stated that the vehicle consumed too much fuel and the air conditioning blew hot air. Also, the oil low pressure warning indicator illuminated and flashed off and on. The contact also stated that the brakes squeaked and the front passenger side tire deflated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (koons Ford in sterling, va) for diagnostic testing. The dealer found nothing wrong with the vehicle; however, the failures recurred several times. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the same dealer several times and, during one of the visits, the engine was replaced without the contact's consent. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures and did not assist. The vehicle was not completely repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 40.
