Takata recall the engine blew up after 3,400. Sucked all the oil in the exhaust while it was idling in dealership parking lot. Called me up told my engine blew up on them. There is 6 month run of bad engine and Ford knowly sold me a truck made during those dates.

Engine stalls and/or dies while driving. This has happened to me twice on a new 2016 F-150. During normal driving, the truck mechanically shuts down causing a major safety hazard to me and other drivers on the road. This is not uncommon if you search online! the Ford repair shop cannot identify the issue, they say.

On 1/25/16, in the rain, at 6 am, I pulled out from a side street near my residence on to a major road and was increasing speed. I traveled about 150 yards and was up to about 40 mph. My truck suddenly decelerated to about 5 mph very quickly causing my car to skid in the rain. There was no accident since traffic was light at the time, so I pulled into the median and put the truck in park to see what was happening and I could not discover anything wrong. I then put the truck in gear and tried to accelerate again but the car would speed up to about 15 mph and then decelerate very quickly, almost giving it a bucking motion. After a few seconds the truck seemed to want to die, it would move and then seem to want to stop and die, and then repeat the process. I was able to get to the side of the road and park in a parking lot. I had my truck towed to the dealer and the dealer looked at it but said they couldn't find anything and had never heard of that happening to anyone before. I looked on the NHTSA site and found that many people had had this occur in this model. The work order received from the dealer did not indicate that anything was adjusted or replaced. To date it has not reoccurred.

While driving about 20 mph through a residential neighborhood, vehicle lurched and jerked with a large thud. Thud was engine failing due to no oil pressure - oil not getting to engine. Limped home, car not able to go more than 30 mph to drive to dealership. Not shifting between gears. Had we been on highway, much bigger issue could have occurred - we were able to stop safely as we were in our own neighborhood. Ford is replacing engine but [xxx] (service manager at walker Ford, clearwater Florida) has told us this is the fourth 2016 F150 that has come back to their dealership for a full engine replacement, and decision was made to continue selling because percentage of affected vehicles is a gamble. We bought truck 1/2/17, engine failure occurred 1/26/17 at odometer reading of 844 miles. Dealership in possession of truck since 1/27/17. Ecoboost engine with 4,200 miles. I turned the ac off still shudders. This has gone on now for 3 days. I am taking do dealer tomorrow 28nov2016.

The truck has had issues with the hillassist failure, then check engine light then wrench light causing the truck to go from 45 mph to 2mph without notice. The throttle bottle also went out on this truck causing the truck to go from 45 mph to 2 mph in traffic, this is the Ford wrench light. On two seperate occasions, when starting the truck and releasing the parking brake, a parking brake malfunction light flashes, then when trying to move the truck into gear it will move from park to drive to reverse, but will not move. Please contact me asap. I have a detailed list of dates and occurances along with all email conversations with Ford. Ford soes not believe this is a problem and seems to ignore the safety concerns.

While driving on the highway at approx. 60mph my Ford 2016 F150 3.5L V6 lurched and stalled, experiencing a complete loss of power, throttle control and acceleration. This was the 7th throttle malfunction my F150 has experienced in the past 5 months. Each malfunction exactly the same. Since I am now forced to only travel in the far right lanes for safety, I had enough remaining momentum to veer my F150 off of the highway and bring it to a complete stop. With some effort my F150 struggled but was able to restart and traveling a low speeds I made it safely home. Due to the dangerous nature of this incident I have taken my F150 to the dealership twice so far. Ford believes the issue is the electronic throttle body, but they have been unable to fix the problem. Most recently I received my F150 from the dealer only 4 short days ago where they replaced the electronic throttle body, but it had no effect, the problem still exists. The malfunction only occurs during the most dangerous periods of driving, while on the highway/freeway. This malfunction puts the safety of the drivers and their families at risk unnecessarily. I have avoided collisions only by driving and staying in the far right lane at all times. It is only a matter of time before someone else experiences this problem traveling at 65mph on the highway and due to a sudden loss of power and complete acceleration causes a significant traffic accident. I hope this never happens but it is my grave and real concern for my own welfare every time I drive my 2016 F150.

While driving on a highway, vehicle's low engine oil pressure illuminated, vehicle's speed dropped to coasting level and had to pull to side of highway with no ability to accelerate. This is an extremely dangerous situation where there is loss of power and the engine would not restart. Oil level was checked and was near the high mark. The vehicle has 316 miles on it and had to be towed.

Loss of throttle response while driving around 25 mph, check engine light came on and the engine was idling rough. Was able to drift over to the side of the road. Turned engine off then on with no change, turned off then on again and throttle worked normally but check engine light stayed on. Drove right to the dealer who determined it was a bad throttle body.

2016 Ford F-150 2.7L ecoboost model with only 3,928 miles. This is the third time engine has cut off on me while driving/accelerating! was taking a left turn from side road onto main road. While accelerating in the turn, engine started stuttering a few times (rpms would dip) and then it stalled out. Luckily I was able to complete my left hand turn without getting hitting by oncoming traffic and was able to pull over immediately. This time around the engine would not restart. Had to call Ford's roadside assistance to get towed to nearest dealership. The last two instances the dealer could not pull a code or diagnose what was wrong so nothing was done. This time the dealership has a dead truck on arrival so they can't tell me that there is nothing wrong with it (service and diagnostics has yet to be completed at the time of this writing). I have been in touch with Ford regional rep regarding my cases and I am told they cannot do anything until the dealer can diagnose what the root cause is. Obviously something is wrong. There are dozens of other complaints of engine stalling while driving.

Vehicle looses power without warning during routine driving and cannot be recovered. Warnings on dashboard display show "service advancetrac" and "hill start assist" along with all engine warning lights. Pressing down on gas pedal does nothing, must pull over and turn off ignition and turn back on to restore power. Happens numerous times and randomly. While traveling on the interstate level terrain and a stationary cruise at 70 mph, the wrench icon and check engine light appeared with a message to "see manual" at the same time the engine became unresponsive to accelerator pedal input. The limp home mode was not working and we could not get the truck moving again after stopped. I was able to shut the ignition off for about 2 min while I looked up the warning lights in the manual (only stated to see dealer immeadiatly) afterwards we were able to start and drive the truck to the next exit and home approximately 4 miles. This was a very dangerous encounter and were almost hit by 2 semi trucks while trying to coast over to the shoulder. We have owned the vehicle since new and had 8,827 miles at the time of the shut down.

Was stopped at red light in greensboro nc. Light turned green and I started to drive straight through the intersection when there was a complete loss of throttle response. I had to finish going through the intersection by momentum of the vehicle and gravity since there was no power. Fortunately there was no one else at the intersection or I'm sure I would have been hit. Was told by local Ford dealer, green Ford, problem was a defective "throttle body". 2nd Ford vehicle I have been in, in less than a month, that this has happened (2015 F150-same defect - throttle body). Huge concern for safety of those of us who drive Ford.

While driving the vehicle 157 miles from home I had the check engine light came on and vehicle had no throttle response. The vehicle would only move about 3-5 miles per hour. Very dangerous was crossing a large busy intersection almost got hit but another vehicle.

Second time engine stalled while driving in less than 2 weeks!!! 2016 Ford F-150 XLT 2.7L eco-boost model. This is the second time the engine has stalled and shut off during driving! not even 3,600 miles on it yet. Typical stop and go traffic during rush hour. Went to accelerate after rolling along with traffic (<10 mph) and nothing happens. Tachometer stays at around 500 RPM and does not go anywhere. Since this was the second time this has happen within the last 2 weeks so I wasn't too surprised this time around. I put it in neutral and shut off ignition and try cranking it. Rpms would barely stutter around 400-500 RPM and would not stay on. Tried a few more attempts while still rolling in neutral. I had to brake to a stop, put it in park, and had attempted to crank it several more times until it finally started up and was idling correctly around 800-900 RPM. This is definitely a safety issue and should be investigated immediately. Dealer says oem has known issue with throttle body causing Ford vehicles to stall while driving. Unfortunately, dealer says my VIN is not part of vehicle models affected by this issue. Obviously it is happening to the 2016 F150S. Both of my incidents did not throw a code so there seems to be nothing dealer can do to fix the problem for the moment. I do not want to keep driving this vehicle with this defective part and unsafe condition, especially with my infant son in the rear cab.

Driving down the highway, doing about 60 to 65 mph, noticed that I was slowing down slightly, went to give it more gas, looked down at the dashboard and realized that the engine wasn't on (no rpms on tachometer). The screen on the dashboard had a service warning for the parking brake with a lightning bolt idiot light on (not sure what it was, didn't get the chance to look in the manual). I don't know if the power steering/brakes went out, since I was moving fast enough to steer fairly easily, and I'm strong enough to press a brake pedal. After I got it pulled over, I put it in park, tried to start it again, wasn't able to. Called roadside assistance, got a tow truck. Notice the screen that has stuff like clock, temp, date, media info was stuck at the time it shutoff. No other electrical systems seemed to work, I.e. power windows, emergency flashers, ignition. Was also locked in park, couldn't get it into neutral for the tow truck. After it got onto the tow truck, the exterior lights flashed while driving to the dealership to service it, got to dealer and when it came time to get it off the truck, it started right back up again, didn't appear to have any service messages show up. Brand new truck, about 1100 miles on it, no accidents, no off-roading, haven't even changed the oil yet, haven't touched anything under the hood besides the oil dipstick. At the dealership, nothing seemed to be loose under the hood (electrical wise). Attached is a picture similar to what I saw (again, 65 on the highway, not really an ideal time for documentation).

2016 Ford F-150 XLT 2.7L ecoboost automatic model with approximately 3,400 miles. Had already driven about 4-5 miles with engine already warmed up. Dry weather and about 69 degrees F outside. Came up to stop light with other vehicles ahead slowed down. Came to a complete stop and the auto-stop function engaged and the engine shut off. The roadway was fairly level. Waited approximately 20-30 seconds until light turned green. Traffic ahead started to move forward. I let off the brakes and the auto-start engaged. I continued to ease off brakes and allowed the truck to roll and idle forward with the flow of the vehicles ahead. I then applied my foot on the accelerator and began accelerating with the flow of the traffic. All of a sudden, the engine shuts off. At first I didn't realize it had shut off and was surprised that I wasn't able to accelerate anymore. Then I looked at instrument panel and saw that the speedometer was reading 17 mph and slowly dropping as the truck was just coasting along. My first thought was that maybe I had accidentally thrown it into neutral somehow, but the gear was still in "D" and applying gas did not move the tachometer as it had dropped to zero. Then I saw the battery symbol pop up. This is when I realized the engine had shut off during acceleration, possibly during gear shift sequence. At this point the vehicle is still rolling roughly 10 mph, so I engage it into neutral and crank the ignition and it starts up again. There is traffic behind me at this point so I change gear into "D" and am then able to accelerate normally up to proper speed. I could not recreate this again for the next 5-6 miles home, even with numerous stop lights where I would recreate the same auto-stop/start and accelerate actions.

Unintended acceleration. Ecoboost F-150. Less than 200 miles on odometer. At stop with foot on brake whole time, vehicle did not move. Engine revved up, then settled down, revved again, settled down, then revved very high, rear tire spinning until ignition was turned off.
