When driving at highway speeds the vehicle feels like the timing is off. Hesitates as you roll at 50 or 60mph. Then when you exit freeway and are stopped at light the idle becomes rough and drops below 500rpm. Several times the engine stopped running while waiting for the light to turn green. The previous owner noticed it as well and she took it to the dealership to get checked. Dealer said there is no check engine light and no error code so can't fix it. I took it to another Ford dealer after purchase and they could not duplicate the issue even though I told them what to look for. Ford F150 owners board has list of many people with same issue with the 2014-2016 era trucks. Fixes from their post show replacement of 2 new cam phasers and new vct solenoids repairs the issue. Vct had locked up and allowed the cam to jump by two teeth. So vct failure was causing the timing to be off which is the effect I am experiencing at highway speeds and the stalling upon stopping at off ramp light is because the timing is off. Ford will not repair unless cel is on however. I told service team member my concern about taking a left turn across traffic and having the engine stall mid lane and getting T-boned.

My 2016 Ford F150 recently started whistling at the 2500rpm point from the front end of the my truck. I took it to the dealership expecting a vacuum hose issue and was told both exhaust manifolds had warped and broke off some of the mounting bolts. I was a bit shocked since the vehicle has 102,000 miles on it and it's not been abused in anyway. Unfortunately, the factory warranty runs out at 100,000 miles and on the hook for the cost of this $1600+ (so far) repair. After doing a little research on the internet it did not take me long to discover this is a very well known problem with the 3.5L ecoboost engine. There were a multitude of websites and youtube videos addressing this known problem with folks quite upset that an official recall has not been issued yet with a proper fix/replacement and reimburse the owners who have already paid for the fix. Seems like it's not a matter of if it's going to happen to your truck...but when. Very disappointing, especially when you hear how many known issues have already been reported. Exhaust fumes leaking from the engine and possibly into the cab...should take a high priority to resolve. Let's go Ford...make it right! thank you.

The engine had been dying at stop signs, red lights, and in parking lots up to this point (in drive or park) but ended up stalling eight or nine times on the interstate coming through atlanta rush hour traffic. This almost caused multiple accidents while I attempted to restart the vehicle without power steering and power brakes. The dealership has worked to repair the issue twice so far. I have made another appointment with the dealership and they plan to replace the vct solenoids next. Ford should admit this is a safety issue and initiate a recall to resolve this issue on all these vehicles before someone gets killed.

I was recently pulling a travel trailer down a mountain pass with my 2016 F150 with the 3.5L ecoboost engine. The vehicle went into limp mode losing power to the motor, the travel trailer started 'fish tailing'!! the 2 vehicles behind me locked up their brakes (could visibly see smoke), the third vehicle was slower to react and pulled out and passed all 3 of us narrowly avoiding a head on collision! I took the truck to the service shop and it was determined to be the throttle body and it was replaced....for the 4th time in 94,000 miles!!! the previous 2 times this happened to me the same problem occurred (vehicle went into limp mode), but those times I was driving 75mph down a 5 lane freeway and had to crossover 5 lanes of traffic with no power to my engine! vehicles swerving everywhere, people locking up their brakes....minor miracle there were no accidents. I've filed complaints to Ford on each occasion and they've done nothing about it! it's a common, well known problem that Ford is aware of and somebody is eventually going to die because of this issue! asking for help!

On 9/6/2020, while driving approx 60mph on hwy 128 between jal and carlsbad nm, the brake pedal on my 2016 Ford F150 lariat went to the floor and I had no brakes. A message on my dash came up saying to add brake fluid and I did. I took my truck to the nearest dealership, carslbad Ford Lincoln. The master cylinder and booster had a recall and was replaced, but the brake fluid that leaked into the engine was never addressed by the service and repair center. As a result, I now have over $6,000 worth of collateral damage to my engine that the dealership is refusing to fix because I'm being blamed for the damages for adding brake fluid to the resevoir. It's beyond obvious that the only way any brake fluid leaked into the engine was due to the damaged manufacturer part(s), the master cylinder and the booster, that were not only damaged but in recall status - recall# 20S31. The GM and service manager of the carslbad Ford Lincoln dealership have the power, the support and backing of a behemoth. They have the full support of the great american auto giant Ford Motor Company and I have 100% nothing and nobody! there has to be some law or some thing to protect your everyday innocent tax paying american citizen from being taken advantage of by people who work for these powerful entites and/or companies. I'm writing this complaint on 9/27 and they've had my truck since 9/12; just over two weeks. I'm issuing this complaint because I literally cannot pay for the $6,212 worth of repairs that Ford Motor Co is accountable and responsible for. Also, with (2) blown turbo chargers, tube asy, converter asy, sensors etc which all need to be replaced; my truck is not safe for me to drive and other citizens communting with or without their families on american highways shouldn't be subjected to this unsafe vehicle being on the road.

The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30-40 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. Additionally, the failure recurred while stopped at a traffic light with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The mechanic retrieved fault code: P0012 (intake (a) camshaft position timing -over- retarded (bank 1). The vehicle was not repaired. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer were contacted or informed of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 59,000.

Vehicle suddenly lost power while driving both from a stop and at highway speeds. I shut off vehicle and restarted it which seemed to temporarily solve the problem only to have it reoccur days later. Engine code registered on the dash display. Code was retrieved (P2112) which correlates to a faulty throttle body. Ford has acknowledged this problem with an extended warranty replacement, but my local dealership will not replace the throttle body, so I was forced to replace it myself and pay for the faulty part. My vehicle had less than 36,000 miles at the time of this incident. When the vehicle loses power in traffic, it is definitely a life, health, safety issue. There are numerous examples that can be found on the internet of this defective part/throttle body on various Ford vehicles. I feel that Ford should initiate a recall for obvious safety reasons. Ford has put out various tsb's regarding this documented problem.

After driving 30+ min when bringing vehicle to a stop at a red light or parked, truck isles down to 500rmp and rough ideal and chokes like it wants to stall. There is no consistency to this. Has been doing this for 1.5 years. Have been observing fuel levels, ambient temperature, engine temp and there is no consistency to it. There is never a check engine like that comes on and dealer has done a history search and there are no codes. Mechanics are scratching their heads. No recalls, no service advisories. Don't want to start tossing random parts into it.

Driving eastbound on I-10 at 75 -80 mph, on a mountain, suddenly advanctrac fault warning and engine power lost. Vehicle entered limp mode. I was forced to 'limp' on the shoulder to reach a safe area to stop with cell service and wait for a tow truck. This was a very dangerous situation. Semi traffic at high speeds were blowing past very little shoulder space to navigate. At each guard rail I was forced to stop - wait for a break in traffic- restart and pray for enough momentum to get around the area. I finally limped into wilcox AZ and contacted Ford roadside assistance. The vehicle was towed 74 miles to smith Ford in lordsburg nm $280. Fra advised that due to covid 19 no personal transportation is available. No alternate transportation is available in wilcox AZ. Smith Ford service does not open until Monday. Another roadside service $205 put computer on it. Code P2112 throttle actuator 'a' control system stuck closed. Pyramid roadside service found damaged wiring behind accelerator pedal and loose pedal. I had to walk alone in the desert to find a hotel. I eventually walked another 2 miles pulling a suitcase to a grayhound station to phoenix Sunday (274 miles).I will contact dealer tomorrow.Ford has been aware customer satisfaction program to replace defective etb 2015 & 2016 F150. I purchased May 5, 2019 and was not made aware of potentially dangerous situation. No recall was issued for this dangerous defect. Not only could I have been seriously injured on the interstate, I was put in very high risk situations both due to covid 19 high risk in this part of the country but also my personal safety being alone without transportation in an area with limited resources. Thus far I am out of pocket $800 and do not know what additional expenses I may incur until my truck is repaired. I live in papillion, ne and have a long way to go to get back home.

My 2016 F150 5.0 supercrewhas started to regularly stall when idling in park or when braking or coasting when coming to a intersection. I can immediately restart upon putting in park or neutral. Sometimes a check engine light comes on. Upon googling the problem it seems pretty common with no answers of certainty.

The 2016 F150 with 40,000 miles on the engine had experienced a rough idle and engine stalls. The problem is in able to be predictable recreated causing the dealership to not solve the problem. When the truck was at 12000 miles, many engine parts were replaced to fix this issues however were unsuccessful. The vehicle is becoming difficult to drive or have repaired by the dealer. The vehicle typically rough isles or stalls when coming to a stop or sitting still. This poses a concerns when making a left on a standard green light with oncoming traffic.

2016 Ford F150 V8 engine. Driving down the freeway, my A/C compressor went out. It completely locked up causing the engine to stall and become disabled and could not be restarted. Shortly after, I lost power steering and brakes (as a result of the engine loss) which created a safety issue on a freeway at 10:30pm at night as I had to get the vehicle over lanes of traffic without power steering and ease of braking and bring the vehicle to a stop without power assisted brakes. Thankfully, we were able to get over, but I don't know that everyone would be so lucky. I don't think an A/C compressor breaking internally should disable the vehicle's engine unless something is fundamentally wrong with the construction of the compressor. I could see accidents occurring as a result of the engine becoming disabled.

I was completing a 3 hour drive of approximately 120 miles (I had less than 5 miles to go till I arrived at my destination) when my sensors started lighting up my message board and dash system. I was in the left turn lane to enter the on-ramp to US65 South when this happened so I pulled off to the shoulder to investigate. I had just put my truck in park when a car pulled up and said that my engine was on fire. When I got out to look, the fire was rolling out from under the drivers side wheel well. As well, there was either a fluid or melted plastic dripping down to the asphalt that was also on fire. The fire appeared to put itself out, for the most part, prior to the fire company arriving within the next 10 minutes. I had, what I believed to be at the time, recall work done by mike raisor Ford in lafayette, in, less than 1 year ago. In that recall work, I thought the block heater was disconnected so as to prevent an engine fire such as this. Now, I am having doubts as to whether this was completely disconnected. NHTSA campaign number is 18V894000 and Ford recall number is 18S45.
