I turned my defrost on in my 2016 ford f150, minutes after my truck smelt of burning wires and my rear glass shattered. There was no impact as i was still in my driveway.

When driven at highway speed for a while then coming to a stop the truck vibrates, shakes and idles roughly then stalls. It has been diagnosed by Ford as defective Variable Cam Timing Solenoids which have been replaced twice without fixing the problem. It continues to stall when at a stop or when starting out from a stop, like when crossing an intersection it dies in traffic suddenly. The check engine light is lit and it gets progressively worse until it is not reliably drivable

I started my 2016 f150 platinum ecoboost in the morning around (6:30am) on 6/18/21. The glass was fogged up from the night air so I turned rear and front defogger on to clear my glass and smell a instant strong burning smell and a loud pop which sent glass flying from the rear window. I immediately turned the vehicle off and got out. This is a common issue with Ford trucks and thankfully I didn-??t have my kids in the back seat as they would have been hit by flying glass.

Vehicle lost acceleration on interstate highway multiple times and caused dangerous maneuvers to avoid collision. Ford has acknowledged issue via consumer satisfaction 16B32 but I was never mailed any notification. This MUST be a recall. This is the most dangerous event I have experienced driving.

The break system failed completely. Got a Low Brake Fluid message and pedal went to the floor. The vehicle is currently at the dealership getting fixed. If this would have happened while driving down the interstate I would not have been able to stop. No warnings or symptoms before entering the vehicle this particular time.

When towing and coming to a stop my vehicle stalls and dies. It will not stay running. To keep it running I have to put in neutral and press the gas pedal to keep it running and then put into gear and take off. This is not safe. It is the 2.7L ecoboost. I took it to our local Ford where it happened to the tech that took my truck in for inspection and then they said the service tech could not replicate the issue. They charged me $130 diagnosis fee and said they couldn't find the issue and called for me to pick up my vehicle. This is happening all over the country and something needs to be done.

2016 F-150 3.5L 4X4 ecoboost with max towing package - vehicle suddenly and w/O warning caught fire and engulfed in flames within 10 minutes of hearing a humming sound and then seeing white or gray smoke. We were towing our 28 ft travel trailer for the first time in about 4-5 months, 30 minutes into the trip on a flat highway. Pulled over within 1 min of hearing the noise/ seeing smoke. Upon exiting, saw flames peeking out from under front of truck. Flames hit the cab within probably 3 mins later. We had towed a 28 ft travel trailer with this vehicle extensively and comfortably with few issues (except throttle body failure around 30K miles). Regular oil changes and maintenance. Full pa state inspection 3 months prior, oil change 2K miles prior. No outstanding recall work to our knowledge. No unusual handling, smells, leaking fluids that we noticed, or warning lights. Fire investigator's best guess was sudden transmission issue because it completely burned away but we'll unfortunately never really know.

I was driving on the interstate at 80mph when the truck lost thrust and several warnings came up. Luckily, I was near an exit so able to coast to the exit. The throttle body had to replace. I found this was a common issue for this vehicle and Ford had a customer service program to replace them. I am the second owner and never heard about it because it was not considered a recall, so I had to pay for the repairs myself. I consider this a safety issue. Imagine losing power passing a vehicle on a two lane road or in the middle of an intersection. I found this letter from Ford on your site: Https://static.NHTSA.gov/ODI/tsbs/2016/mc-10109085-9999.pdf. Not sure why this did not substantiate a recall.

Rear defroster shorted out. Overheated and caught the plastics on fire. The window then shattered from the excess heat from the rear defrost. The vehicle was in motion on the highway. Outside temp was 28 degrees. Rear defrost and heat were on for the vehicle. While traveling, the vehicle began to smoke internally. The car was pulled over, and shut off. The smoke stopped and the window shattered. The plastic and seat surrounding the rear defrost connection to the window were melted.

Hi, we've experienced two brake failures on our Ford F-150 pickup. The first time was 17 June 2020 on front right brake. Dealer told me we hit something and charged $500 to fix it. Vehicle was parked and I started it up and pressed on the brake pedal to put it into drive, brake pedal went to the floor and upon investigation, I found brake fluid leaking from the right front brake area.. the second event was 11 December and involved front left brake. Failure occurred when bringing vehicle to a stop after disconnecting from our travel trailer and we were pulling forward to separate from our trailer. Truck is at stockton Ford, fort stockton, Texas. Read online that this issue with Ford's is being investigated. I got pictures and my vehicle is supposed to be fixed tomorrow but I will make it available if you want to look at it. Tom monahan

My 2016 Ford F150 recently started whistling at the 2500rpm point from the front end of the my truck. I took it to the dealership expecting a vacuum hose issue and was told both exhaust manifolds had warped and broke off some of the mounting bolts. I was a bit shocked since the vehicle has 102,000 miles on it and it's not been abused in anyway. Unfortunately, the factory warranty runs out at 100,000 miles and on the hook for the cost of this $1600+ (so far) repair. After doing a little research on the internet it did not take me long to discover this is a very well known problem with the 3.5L ecoboost engine. There were a multitude of websites and youtube videos addressing this known problem with folks quite upset that an official recall has not been issued yet with a proper fix/replacement and reimburse the owners who have already paid for the fix. Seems like it's not a matter of if it's going to happen to your truck...but when. Very disappointing, especially when you hear how many known issues have already been reported. Exhaust fumes leaking from the engine and possibly into the cab...should take a high priority to resolve. Let's go Ford...make it right! thank you.

Son was driving 2016 Ford F-150 truck on a 2 lane road, right out of our subdivision. It started shaking and stalling, wouldn't accelerate, brakes went stiff, wrench light came on, engine light came on. Numerous sensors came on. Was very dangerous. Had to coast the truck back home. Had to have the truck towed to dealership. Throttle body went bad. Repair was $575. They claimed there were no recalls and not covered under warranty. There was a field service recall on this model truck and this part a year after the truck was purchased new with previous owner. We are the second owners. Knew nothing about this until now. Was told by Ford that field service recalls expire. Previous owner may have not had a problem to take it in and have it checked. One of the old recall numbers I researched was 16B32, there were several others. There are numerous lawsuits against Ford for this part going bad. Can stall out at any time and cause a deadly accident. This truck is too new to have these problems. Had a full 45,000 inspection at Ford a few months ago. Nothing was ever mentioned about this or cleaning this. Ford is selling vehicles with faulty parts that can cause unexpected accidents that can be deadly.
