Transmission started making a loud noise and jerking the truck. Tachometer was showing engine rpm increasing rapidly and dropping back several hundred revolutions; gear indicator didn't change (higher or lower) indicating a gear change. Transmission temperature was running approx. 205F however would increase to 230F when the transmission would make noise multiple times. Vehicle took extra effort to control while this was happening both on an Interstate highway and secondary roads. Coming out of the mountains I had to use the brakes more than usual due to the jerking around and stopped when they experienced brake fade and I could smell them. Pic attached. Stopped later and had engine codes read with a OBD reader at auto parts store; no codes or warning lights. This is the 10R80E 10 speed transmission. Called local transmission shop and Ford dealer. Local transmission shop rep said that they have replaced several and currently have 2 in the shop now with the similar issue, explained the recurring problems with this transmission, suggested I could Google it and recommended a reman with the now upgraded/updated parts to correct the original design flaws. CDF drum, valve body and something else. The reman cost versus rebuild are about the same, reman has a better warranty than the trans shop could offer. Local Ford dealer provided "ballpark" estimate of $10K to repair or replace transmission. The vehicle has 78,000 miles on it so out of warranty. Regarding whether or not my safety was at risk, I would have to say yes due to the fact that the truck was harder to control when the transmission was jerking the vehicle around since it happened with no warning. It also happens at any speed and engine rpm, high or low doesn't seem to make any difference. I'm a certified Emergency Vehicle Operator, small to large apparatus so better experienced to deal with unexpected vehicle failures than many drivers. This was a serious problem causing significant drivability/control issues.

Currently Suffering from a manufacturing defect per diagnosis from Ford technician in my 2019 F150 with the 10-speed transmission. I was advised by Ford to submit the form since I must pay for the repair and updated components to fix the issue and would be reimbursed once the recall was issues. Ford has issued a new technical service bulletin (TSB 24-2046) and re-engineered the CDF drum and housing to correct the issue. Below is a list of symptoms I-??ve been experiencing along with others from 2017 -?" 2023: Wrench light is on Clunking or banging noise when starting the engine Rough, harsh or erratic shifting Hesitation between gears Gear slipping Gear getting stuck while shifting Jerking or lunging Loss of power while driving

Transmission abruptly shifts between lower gears (1-5), sometimes causing a jerking motion. Several times it drops down (feeling like car completely looses power) causing cars in to almost rear end vehicle, conversely jerks forward when shifting into high gear almost rear-ending car in front of me. Has happened several times. Dealer claims need to redo transmission. Upon investigating online, there are numerous similar complaints forum discussing this topic. This is a serious safety issue with Ford along with bilking customers.

Transmission has always shift loudly into 8th gear since I bought it at 31k miles. It has 95k miles on it now. Bought it in Nov 2021 used off a Ford dealer lot. Driving a few weeks ago. Going 30 mph. Stopped at a stop sign and then made a left mildly accelerated, probably around 30mph and I was still accelerating, engine goes to redline and engine shifts down to I'm guessing first. Every dash light pops on, and the truck doesn't even show it's in drive or any gear. I pulled to the next stop sign that was not to far away. I brake and shut the truck off and put it in park. I try to start it and it doesn't work. It did not turn over at all. I got it towed to home and checked it out. The transmission control module fuse was blown. I replaced it and it blew again and again. I checked for broken wires, I did not remove anything to check. I did not see anything. Had it towed to Ford. Ford told me the transmission control module had shorted out internally and they needed to order a new transmission control module. They just got it yesterday and told me they were having trouble programming it and hoping it'd be ready tomorrow.

The car lost ALL POWER and the ability to accelerate for more than 10 seconds. Luckily cars coming form across moved to the side to not hit me. I was stuck in the middle of the intersection. I attempted to shift manually in a panic and the car slammed really hard in likely 1st gear, red-lineed for several seconds then inched forward enough to pull to the side. I was able to proceed forward stuck in 7th gear, where the car remained stuck in that gear. This was terrifying as I had ZERO ability to move forward, the engine was revving but no gears were available

I am aware of the cam phase issue with 2017-2020 F150s 3.5 Eco Boost (also effected my 2016). I have 89K miles and I took it to the dealership as my cam phasers are failing and making the engine loud and ready to fail. The repair bill is 4K and I called Ford Customer Care - who does not Care. I had purchased extended warranty, but they are stating it is not covered. This is the 2nd F150 I have owned with the problem. Ford service is stating they see "a lot" of these - Ford needs to make this right for their consumers.

My 2019 F150 transmission will downshift very harsh into first gear like the truck nose dives and will slam back into fourth after, like the transmission loses power. I have had it at the dealer when it was still in warranty and they had it for like two weeks and then said it was the throttle body but that definitely never fixed it. Since I am out of warranty I just learned to live with the issue for last couple of years and now I see there is a recall for this issue but my truck doesn-??t fall under the recall or something. Trying to get help with fixing this issue.

While driving, rpms went high, speed dramatically decreased suddenly as transmission suddenly and without warning began changing gear. as soon as possible, I pulled into a local convenience store where I had no transmission gears at all ( 1st thru reverse ). Looking under my vehicle, I noted a stream of transmission fluid running down the parking lot. The incident caused an extremely dangerous situation as I was traveling on a major, busy 4 lane highway. Vehicle was towed to a prominent ford dealer, where a -?? blown out transmission cooler fitting -?? was found. -??Wrench-?? light came on dash as vehicle began to decelerate. Transmission had similar issues regarding loss of power and gear changing issues no fewer than 3 times after this.
