Vehicle shuts off randomly when the StopStart feature is disabled/turned off via button in dashboard. The instrument panel displays message on dash saying: -??Auto StopStart, Manual Restart, Required-?? And -??Auto StopStart, Shift to P, Then Restart engine-?? This often happens in the middle of an intersection where I risk being hit by another vehicle. This has happened on multiple occasions. Dealership was unable to recreate problem so unfortunately nothing was repaired. There are many online forums discussing this very same problem.

The 10R80 transmission on a 2019 F150, with 56,000miles failed on multiple times. It would slip out of gear especially in the lower gears. It has even shifted from 10/9 gear into neutral and then back into 4 gear and stall on the highway. The transmission, make noise, grinds through t the gears all the time. The engine warring lights are on. The vehicle is unsafe to drive with transmission failure and stalling in intersections, while passing and even shifted to low gears or neutral while driving on the highway at 65+ mph. Additionally it causes the engine to race at a high rate of speed or quit. The vehicle is currently at the local Ford Dealer, . The vehicle has been assessed and problem has been identified. The recommended bulletin actions completed. The repairs failed and the vehicle returned due to its unsafe condition. Dealer still has the vehicle and recommended that the transmission be replaced. Dealer filled a claim with my Extended Warranty, who is aware of the problem.

The transmission has been slipping on multiple occasions between 3rd and 4th gear, changing gears very harshly and sometimes forcing the vehicle to speed up rapidly and unexpectedly. It has also caused the vehicle to slow down rapidly, trying to find a certain gear then shifting back down to 1st gear randomly while driving in traffic. I barely have 70,000 miles on the truck.

Hard up shifting and downshifting. When rapid deceleration at highway speeds transmission harshly downshifted and caused rear tires to skid during icy conditions. Hard/erratic down shifting conditions during icy conditions caused rear end to break loose during uphill climbs. Truck would downshift with loud clunk and drop from 9th gear into 4th or 5th gear and jump RPMs to 3k or more and then shift back to normal over drive gears. Truck is current on ford 23-2250 TSB

I leased a new 2019 Ford f150 xlt sport package in the fall of 2019. During the first year, I experienced some "choking" of the engine when I would accelerate. Nothing big, but noticeable. I mentioned this experience to the dealer at regular checkups and they informed me that it was "normal" and that if anything was wrong, the computerized monitoring system on the truck would identify the problem. I bought the truck after a 36 month lease. The choking continued to be a regular occurance, especially for the first few miles of a new drive. Around 30k miles, I noticed the issue getting more pronounced. I again asked the dealer about it and they provided me the same answer as before and didn't offer to explore the issue. Between 30K and 50K miles, the issue became more frequent and would impact the truck whether it was warm or cold. But now I experienced a hard shift between 1-3 gears and sometime 3-5-- jerking and slowing and struggling to move to the next gear. It will also bog down at times when changing into the higher gears with no telling when this would occur. Again, I asked the dealer about it, and becuase there was no safety light, they wouldn't do a thing. Over the past month or two, at over 50K miles, the frequency was several times on every drive. It started to jump from 8-1 and back up to 8. It would jerk and slow in high traffic situations, and finally it just would not move into gear at a stop sign at rush hour. I had to drop it into low gears and move to the side of the road after 10 minutes of stoppage; then the check engine indicator finally flashed, after an incident that could have caused harm to me or others. I slowly drove it to my destination. Since then, I have not allowed anyone to drive the truck because it is dangerous to operate. I took the truck to the dealer and they informed me that it needs a new transmission which will be ~$5k

I own a 2019 Ford F150 in mid 2023 I noticed my truck would jerk when 1st starting out. Ford said it was normal for the type of transmission that it has a 10 speed.. fast forward Feb 2025 starting hearing this thumping noise underneath when getting to speed at 50 mph or higher and within a week dropped the truck off to be told transmission has to be replaced that all components are no good so can't be rebuilt. Seeing there is an class action lawsuit for this same transmission in Illinois.

Have a 2019 Ford F-150 that began having hesitation issues at approximately in late 2023. Hesitation issues began occuring when the vehicle would sit for hours, then being started and allowed to warm for 2 to 4 minutes before putting it into gear. Once put into gear the vehicle would hesitate, then slip into gear, then seemed to slip into neutral and back into gear. At first the hesitation was very slight and seemed to occur more on inclines than flat surface. By mid 2024 the hesitation became more like a slight bucking and then slip into neutral for several seconds before slipping into gear. This caused safety issues when taking off from intersections and merging into traffic as the vehicle was unable to maintain acceleration and gain the necessary speed to merge, causing other vehicles behind to immediately slow or slam their foot on the brake. When taking off from a stop, the vehicle would slip into neutral, causing the rpms to rev to 6k + and then slipping back into gear, causing the wheels to immediatly spin faster and "spin out", then the vehicle would begin gaining speed but still experience hesitation for off and off for several minutes. Took the vehicle to a friend who is a retired Ford Service Manager who "guessed" that the problem was an EBT and sent me to the local Ford Dealer for proper diagnosis. The service tech at Ford called and said the truck needed a new transmission but at first did not explain why. While the vehicle was at the dealership getting a new transmission, we asked Ford about the transmission recall and he explained there wasn't one and then explained that the issue with our transmission was the CFD Drum. The service receipt we received from Ford at time of payment does not explain the reason for the transmission failure..just the retired service manager's guess. The mileage on the vehicle when the issue began was approximately 75k. The mileage at replacement was 88k.

Evidently there is a problem with the CDF clutch cylinder. There is a bushing that will slip and can cause delayed or rough transitioning into gears. This is on the 10R80 transmission according Ford. We had no idea of this issue till we brought our truck in to Ford to have the system flushed. Which then the service tech asked had we had any issues and we said it has a delay when shifting into gears sometimes as well as when we put it in reverse it seems like it doesn't fully engage and and then when it does engage it is like a jolt and the truck goes at a faster pace since we was pressing the gas thinking we did not give it enough gas to go into reverse. Multiple times my wife has said that it does this when she is backing out of our driveway into the road also while she is backing out of her parking space at school. What is bad is there are no warning lights on the truck for this issue. There are multiple recalls on this transmission that involve updating the computer settings for the trasmission but the real issue is they have not done a recall for this issue which would stop the bushing from sliding causing the delayed/harsh shifts. Since this is an engineering design issue and potential Hazzard while drive this should be a manufacture recall. Ford has already resigned the cylinder in 2022 to address this issue but anything manufactured before that is suppect.
