I drive a 2019 Ford F-150 XLT 4WD (8 Cylinders 5 5.0L FI FFV DOHC 302 CID). During November 2023, I was experiencing the truck bucking and jerking and shutting off at red lights and stop signs. I took my truck to the dealership on November 22 to have them look at it. They replaced the starter, an almost dead battery, and a PDM reset. The PDM reset and starter were covered under my extended warranty. Upon driving my truck home, the problem continued to exist and this time much worse. I returned to the same dealership on Friday, November 24, 2023. After a diagnostic test, they found nothing, then stated a couple of people drove the vehicle and could not duplicate the problem I was complaining about which was stressful and frustrating because this problem exists almost every time I drive the vehicle, regardless of how long my trip. Driving this truck has now become a safety hazard as I almost got struck by other vehicles on more than one occasion. When I pull out from a traffic light or any business establishment, I have to keep tapping the gas peddle to get the truck moving and it doesn't move, leaving me stranded in the intersection. When the truck does move, it jerks so hard that it gives you "whiplash". This jerking motion continues during the duration of my trip, including my hour-long drive both to and from work. I took my Ford to another mechanic on December 19, 2023. The establishment sent one of their technicians to ride along with me to experience the problem for himself. I drove out of the driveway for just a few feet when again, I kept tapping the gas pedal to get the truck to move and when it did, the truck jerked violently. The technician saw what he wanted to see. I get no warning lights or messages about the failure. The technician said it was a transmission problem that he has been seeing with the years of 2017-2019 F-150 and Ford is aware of the problem but does nothing about it.

Having issues with transmission shifting normally. Trouble shifting out of 1st and will jerk horribly going into 3rd gear. Was up to gear 8 and let off gas and went totally down to 5th then 4th gear as I was going down highway in traffic. Have an appointment with Ford dealership next week to see what's causing this. There has been no warning of this trouble. It just started the 1st to third jerk then progressively getting worse thru the rest of the gear shifting.

While driving on a straight roadway the right rear wheel hub broke off of the rear axle. This caused the truck to turn to the left out of control. The truck crossed over the center line while the entire wheel/tire separated from the wheel well of the truck. The wheel/tire traveled another 50 yards off the roadway into a field. The truck struck a hill on the other side of the road deploying the side airbags due to impact with a road sign. The wheel hub/axle was inspected by a mechanic and the insurance company. The wheel hub was determined to be a defective part by the mechanic and insurance company. The wheel hub had noticeable rust where the axle was connected to the wheel hub. The truck was totaled and removed by the insurance company.

On my 2019 Ford F-150 with ~68,000 miles The 10R80 10 speed transmission was jumping out of gear while going down of the road IN 10TH GEAR GOING 58-65MPH, having to feather the gas to get it back into gear. Also during take off from a stop light the gears would slam into gear and sometimes not even go into gear causing me to not only stop traffic but abruptly change the speed of my truck which has almost caused multiple accidents. Thankfully I did not have my family in my vehicle during some of these "Close Encounters." This is an active problem with Ford and already multiple attempts for lawsuits with little traction. Someone is going to DIE and it is going to be on FORD for not addressing this issue. I brought it to Lookout Ford in Morehead City, NC. and they said it was a bad VALVE BODY, and they are seeing them more frequently by the day with ALL FORDS WITH 10R80 transmission. Finally I went to get my valve body replaced at Torque Transmission in New Bern, N.C. and got sent to Lincoln Dealership to get the new part flashed and calibrated. Once Torque Transmission picked up my truck from Lincoln, the issue was not resolved and gave him issues driving all the way back to the shop. After Torque did more research and reading Ford Bulletins they had to replace my 10R80 Transmission with a brand new one from FORD Dealership. due to my truck being over 68,000 miles I am out of pocket, but there are cases of this happening to vehicles with 20K miles all the way to 60K miles. I have the FORD Connect app and can provide picture of the numerous notifications on when my truck had a failure of gear, loss of power at stop light and during driving. Notification is called, "POWERTRAIN MALFUNCTION/REDUCE POWER" I HAVE 14 NOTIFICATIONS TIME STAMPED OVER A PERIOD OF A MONTH. SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY GOING TO GET INJURED OR KILLED IF NOT RESOLVED. PLEASE DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS, THIS IS VERY SERIOUS AND VERY IMPORTANT. JUST GOOGLE THE 10R80 TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS AND IT WILL PROVE

I bought this truck new on the dealers lot with an extended warranty that goes up to 75k miles. I brought the truck back to the dealer 3 separate occasions telling them of hard shifting, lagging in shifting and it missing shifts. All three times they -??reflashed-?? the tranny. Every time within about 10k miles or even less it would get worse and worse. Now that I am at 82k miles I took it back for the same issue and they have finally determined an issue with -??Slipped sleeve in CDF cylinder assembly-??. The service tech told me they have been having other F150 model trucks coming in with the same issue. I spoke with Ford telling them that the dealer has record of me bringing the truck to them several times before my warranty ran out for the same issue, but they refuse to help me.

The vehicle is a 10 speed automatic, while driving the vehicle when it gets to about 4th gear, the transmission slips. This vehicle was purchased brand new and has only 64,000 miles on it. The transmission slips and at lower speeds when the transmission slips and hesitates before it shifts to another gear, this is a safety issue as while the vehicle semi stalls causes the potential to be rear ended by a trailing vehicle. This vehicle manufacturer should stop selling these transmissions that have serious issues with them. Surely when you purchase a brand new vehicle you don-??t expect to have any problems with it at four years into ownership.

The separator plate between the transmission and engine has corroded to the point of interference with the torque converter. Safety problems associated with this could cause sudden loss of power or control while driving. The dealership says this has been a common repair when being inspected for the rattling sound coming under the vehicle which was the only indicator. Repairs are on hold at this time but will be replaced soon.

My 2019 F150 with the 10 speed transmission has several issues that I believe affect the safety and reliability of the vehicle: 1) The transmission shifts very roughly into 5th gear. The shifts are so rough that I suspect the other components of the drive train are being placed under unnecessary strain. 2) When moving forward at idle the truck will on occasion surge forward. This is a potential safety issue if it were to occur in traffic. 3) When moving forward at slow speeds the transmission periodically slips as if it was shifted into neutral. My local dealership "flashed" the software for the transmission but it did not correct the problem. I returned the truck to the dealership and they've now had it for 2 months with no resolution to the problem.
