Hard shifting ! not up shifting or down shifting or it will go from 10th to 1st gear on the hwy causing loss of power, I had 2 semi trucks right behind me almost causing an accident, when stoping at a red light or stop sign it does not want to go forward trying to start in a higher gear, and causing me to be stuck in the intersection with on coming traffick. It is lounging forward on its own, it causes the RPM to red line when you are not accelorating even after you have taken your foot off the gas and are applying the brake. It is skiping gears it will go from 1 to 7th to 10th back down to 1st all within a matter of seconds, it will down shift or up shift and jump so hard that it hurts my back and makes everyone in the truck sore feeling like you got whiplash. I did take the truck to the dealership when it first started clanking hard when I put it in drive or reverse the dealership told me it was normal for that transmission and wouldnt even look at it. Since then it has only gotten worse I have reached out to serval other dealerships and explained the issues they have all told me there is no fix for this issue. They are getting so many reports for the same issue, and Ford has not found a fix for the issue. When this first started there were no wornings and no lights on the dash, now I am getting nottifications on the Ford app and there has been a wrench light ththat comes on the dash periodicly. Currently the truck is at the dealership for a full transmission rebuild suggusted by them. Costing almost $6000 and acourding to them this is the only fix for it at this time. The clutch basket has failed sending improper fluid pressure though out the transmission.

My F150 shifts hard through the gears sometimes. It's real clunky, loud and shuddering. Sometimes it shifts suddenly causing rapid acceleration or down shifts just as hard causing sudden deceleration. In traffic this is a dangerous situation, such as merging lanes. Not only is it uncomfortable and probably bad for parts. It's dangerous and not Ford tough like they advertise.

The vehicle was purchased brand new from a Ford dealership in 2019 in Virgina. Later, a service bulletin was released by Ford for a "cold start rattle" and cam phaser failure through the ford pass app and by mail. This service bulletin extended the warranty on the cam phaser parts to cover up to 100% of the cost to fix the vehicle. At that time, due to being a military family we had moved to Florida and never received the service bulletin in the mail. After reviewing the service bulletin for the vehicle on the ford pass app, it was taken to a Ford dealership in Miami to be inspected. The Ford Miami dealership did not think there was a cam phaser issue with the vehicle at that time and refused to fix vehicle. Ultimately, the vehicle was taken back to a Ford dealership in Ohio to have it reinspected for the same issue (The cold start rattle/Cam Phaser). The Ford Dealership assessed the vehicle and stated, it in fact has the known issues with the Cam Phaser failure. The vehicle is under the mileage for the service bulletin. However, Ford is unwilling to fix the vehicle due to exceeding the date of the service bulletin. This issue puts my safety and others on the road at risk, because if the cam phaser is not fixed the motor of the vehicle will fail and could potentially cause serious injury or death. The vehicle is not safe to drive at this time. This problem has been confirmed by a Ford Dealership and the vehicle is currently sitting at the dealership awaiting to be fixed. There are no warning lights on the vehicle for this issue.

Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding a significant manufacturing defect in the transmission of my 2019 Ford F-150. The vehicle, which I purchased new from an authorized Ford dealership, has exhibited persistent and severe transmission issues that have compromised its performance and safety. Specifically, the transmission has been shifting harshly and erratically, causing the vehicle to jerk, lunge, and hesitate between gears. This defect has not only affected the drivability of the truck but has also posed a serious safety risk to myself and other road users. Despite multiple visits to the dealership for repairs, the problem persists, indicating a fundamental flaw in the transmission system. I have learned that this issue is not isolated to my vehicle alone. There have been numerous reports and a class action lawsuit concerning the 10-speed automatic transmission in Ford F-150 models from 2017 to 20201. Additionally, Ford has issued recalls and technical service bulletins related to transmission defects in these vehicles23. Given the widespread nature of this defect and its potential danger, I urge the NHTSA to conduct a thorough investigation into the transmission issues affecting the 2019 Ford F-150. It is imperative that Ford Motor Company be held accountable for this defect and that appropriate measures be taken to ensure the safety and reliability of these vehicles. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response and action. Sincerely, [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

At low speeds my transmission will down shift to the point my truck feels likes it-??s nose diving then kicks into the higher gear hard before correcting its self into the correct gear. I am getting nowhere with any dealer besides if I don-??t have the transmission recall then it-??s on me to pay for the fix. I don-??t truly feel that is fair at all to me with still making a monthly payment.

When my truck hit about 60,000 - 65,000 miles it started to jump into gear sometimes. It didn't feel right. It was at a low RPMs when starting to accelerate. I was planning on taking it to the dealership to have a look at it, but several months had gone by before I had an opportunity to do so. I then noticed a clanking upon a cold start. It sounded like a loose muffler. So I planned a trip to have both of these issues looked at. The Ford Dealer Service Manager told me that the cam phasers and transmission needed to be replaced. How can a vehicle with only 65,000 miles on it need almost $20,000 in repairs"?"!!! I went ahead and authorized the cam phaser job because I didn't realize how costly it actually was, I misunderstood the service manager. But I will not be fixing the transmission unless ford does a courtesy replacement, or a recall. I will otherwise wait until this transmission leaves me stranded on the side of the road to be raped and murdered. Everyone with this transmission is having issues. There is a class action lawsuit starting over it. I am now reading hundreds of on line complaints and watching a ridiculous amount of videos of these failures in Fords transmission and the cam phasers. Please help me. I cannot afford $20,000 in repairs and I bought a new vehicle so that I could be rest assured not to have any major repair needed so soon in its life span. I don't have the invoices yet, the Ford Dealer still has my truck in the shop.

I started noticing my transmission slipping when I first drive my vehicle after being parked for a few hours about 8 months ago. It stopped slipping after a couple of minutes. I didn-??t take it to a ford service department because various websites said that is normal with the 10 speed transmissions. About a month ago, the slipping became worse. I also started losing power. I would start to accelerate through an intersection when I would lose power. I took it to a ford service department and they said I need a new transmission based on a TSB report. I contacted Ford customer service to determine if they will cover all or most of the repairs because my truck only has 65000 miles. They finally came back and said they will only cover a small portion of the cost.

Transmission started making a loud noise and jerking the truck. Tachometer was showing engine rpm increasing rapidly and dropping back several hundred revolutions; gear indicator didn't change (higher or lower) indicating a gear change. Transmission temperature was running approx. 205F however would increase to 230F when the transmission would make noise multiple times. Vehicle took extra effort to control while this was happening both on an Interstate highway and secondary roads. Coming out of the mountains I had to use the brakes more than usual due to the jerking around and stopped when they experienced brake fade and I could smell them. Pic attached. Stopped later and had engine codes read with a OBD reader at auto parts store; no codes or warning lights. This is the 10R80E 10 speed transmission. Called local transmission shop and Ford dealer. Local transmission shop rep said that they have replaced several and currently have 2 in the shop now with the similar issue, explained the recurring problems with this transmission, suggested I could Google it and recommended a reman with the now upgraded/updated parts to correct the original design flaws. CDF drum, valve body and something else. The reman cost versus rebuild are about the same, reman has a better warranty than the trans shop could offer. Local Ford dealer provided "ballpark" estimate of $10K to repair or replace transmission. The vehicle has 78,000 miles on it so out of warranty. Regarding whether or not my safety was at risk, I would have to say yes due to the fact that the truck was harder to control when the transmission was jerking the vehicle around since it happened with no warning. It also happens at any speed and engine rpm, high or low doesn't seem to make any difference. I'm a certified Emergency Vehicle Operator, small to large apparatus so better experienced to deal with unexpected vehicle failures than many drivers. This was a serious problem causing significant drivability/control issues.

Currently Suffering from a manufacturing defect per diagnosis from Ford technician in my 2019 F150 with the 10-speed transmission. I was advised by Ford to submit the form since I must pay for the repair and updated components to fix the issue and would be reimbursed once the recall was issues. Ford has issued a new technical service bulletin (TSB 24-2046) and re-engineered the CDF drum and housing to correct the issue. Below is a list of symptoms I-??ve been experiencing along with others from 2017 -?" 2023: Wrench light is on Clunking or banging noise when starting the engine Rough, harsh or erratic shifting Hesitation between gears Gear slipping Gear getting stuck while shifting Jerking or lunging Loss of power while driving

Transmission abruptly shifts between lower gears (1-5), sometimes causing a jerking motion. Several times it drops down (feeling like car completely looses power) causing cars in to almost rear end vehicle, conversely jerks forward when shifting into high gear almost rear-ending car in front of me. Has happened several times. Dealer claims need to redo transmission. Upon investigating online, there are numerous similar complaints forum discussing this topic. This is a serious safety issue with Ford along with bilking customers.
