When pressing the gas pedal to accelerate, the truck will not accelerate rather it begins to rev the engine loudly (as if the gas pedal was being pushed while the truck is in neutral) the RPM shoots high to 6-7 (again the truck isn-??t accelerating any faster just loudly revving, ) then the truck jolts as if it has just been rear ended. The shifting is stuttering staying stuck in 3rd and 4th gear severing going back to 1 even at a stop. Vehicle messaging alerted 1/10/25 powertrain malfunction /reduced power. However this issues has been going on and Ford Said it was related to a 4x4 control module which was replaced and yet the issues continue. Brought it back to ford because the problem was not fixed and they are asking for payment of additional diagnostic testing and NOW saying it-??s a transmission issue AFTER saying it was issue with the control module unit. Work was completed 10/2024 at Ford

Purchased Dec 4, 2019; followed maintenance requirements through BO Beukcman Quality Ford. Oil changes made IAW Ford guidelines every 5000 miles. Oil change was made Nov 23, 2023 at 49,504 miles. Just before next oil change noticed engine knocking on acceleration/deceleration with intermittent check engine light on. Oil changed at 54,226 miles (Aug 22, 2024). Condition mentioned to dealer. Dealer advised engine was consuming oil. There was no visible sign of leaks. Fix -- install new dip stick, reprogram the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Rationale: Ford TSB 19-2365 Dec 5, 2019 quoted as follows: oil consumption "may be due to high intake manifold vacuum during some deceleration fuel shut off (DFSO) events resulting in oil being pulled into the combustion chamber from the crankcase, valve guides and positive crankcase ventilation (PCV)". Supposedly reprogramming would reduce engine vacuum during DFSO events (note: I noticed knocking on acceleration). At the dealership inquired why Ford did not advise customers of condition. They could not answer my question. My F-150 is a 5.0L V8 and was described by dealer as a Coyote engine. I asked if they had similar maintenance events like mine; answer - yes. I was disappointed; have owned previous F-150s and none "consumed" oil like this -- my previous truck had 150,000+ miles -- no oil burning. The dealer instructed me to bring the vehicle back every 1000 miles to check dipstick for consumption. Returned vehicle to dealer at 55,626 and 56,700 miles. On returns, consumption was noted; they topped off my oil with instruction to return again at 57,626 (current mileage 57,435 miles) This is inconvenient and poses a safety risk to me and perhaps others through engine degradation/failure especially while driving. Believe Ford owes the cunsumer a permanent engine fix. Vehicle is available for inspection NHTSA.

Truck was taken in for cam phasers issues multiple times and said was covered under 21n03. Ford won-??t say why other than it doesn-??t fall in serial number break. 21n03 says there is no sn distinction just has to be made at these plants which mine was. I have been lied to multiple times by ford and have come to them with new information and still told they won-??t even look at case because I have been denied once already. I had to pay 5k out of pocket and cam phasers are now failing again within 90days. Ford is a joke and doesn-??t stand behind what they build. (I AM NOW FULLY AWARE) FORD HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND HAS NOT TAKEN THE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS OR REMEDIES FOR CONSUMERS THAT OWN THEIR PRODUCT TO GET THIS FIXED BEFORE A SERIOUS/DEADLY INCIDENT OCCURS YOU PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS EXTREME KNOWN PROBLEM BECAUSE AT TIMES I FEAR FOR MYSELF, MY FAMILY AND EVEN THE DRIVING COMMUNITY FOR THEIR SAFETY BECAUSE OF WHAT MY TRUCK MAY DO OR NOT DO WHILE I AM DRIVING THIS UNSAFE VEHICLE IN OUR PUBLIC ROADWAYS/HIGHWAYS. component in question is the transmission "10R80". risk is that truck stops or loses speed in the middle of driving. It is especially dangers when going thru a 4 way stop and truck almost comes to a stop because it has no speed and have encounterd close calls to be hit or T boned by other vehicles. Problem has been on ongoing dispute with consumers and Ford about the extreme problems with the transmission that include harsh shifting, jerking, hesitation, constant sudden downshifts, difficulty shifting gears, and even an occasional loss of power while in motion. Other descriptions that I experience is noticeable lurches during gear changes recently purchased this vehicle and I was fully unaware of it problems nor was it mentioned to me by the used car salesman and manager that they had a truck in their lot with extreme transmission problems. First purchased ([xxx]) there was no warning signs but maybe after a month or so is when the truck showed a "wrench" symbol on the dash as to show that there is a problem. But somehow it resets everytime you turn off truck and restart as if showing no problem exists. I have learned to deal with it since than but now it is just getting worse. Have not taken it to the dealership because I am not ready to pay for a problem that (I am now fully aware) Ford has known about this problem and has not taken the safety precautions or remedies for consumers that own their product to get this fixed before a serious/deadly incident occurs you please investigate this extreme known problem because at times I fear for myself, my family and even the driving community for their safety because of what my truck may do or not do while I am driving this unsafe vehicle in our public roadways/highways. While driving down a busy road my wrench light appeared on my dash and made a dinging noise. As soon as I saw/heard that I could hear a faint ticking noise. Soon after, my engine quit running and I was stalled out in the middle of a lane on a busy road. I was unable to start my vehicle after that. My engine had seized. There was no prior check engine lights or anything. I had only owned the truck 1 year and 4 months and had put 13,000 miles on it. Always kept good maintenance and there was no prior indications that there was something major wrong

Hard shifting ! not up shifting or down shifting or it will go from 10th to 1st gear on the hwy causing loss of power, I had 2 semi trucks right behind me almost causing an accident, when stoping at a red light or stop sign it does not want to go forward trying to start in a higher gear, and causing me to be stuck in the intersection with on coming traffick. It is lounging forward on its own, it causes the RPM to red line when you are not accelorating even after you have taken your foot off the gas and are applying the brake. It is skiping gears it will go from 1 to 7th to 10th back down to 1st all within a matter of seconds, it will down shift or up shift and jump so hard that it hurts my back and makes everyone in the truck sore feeling like you got whiplash. I did take the truck to the dealership when it first started clanking hard when I put it in drive or reverse the dealership told me it was normal for that transmission and wouldnt even look at it. Since then it has only gotten worse I have reached out to serval other dealerships and explained the issues they have all told me there is no fix for this issue. They are getting so many reports for the same issue, and Ford has not found a fix for the issue. When this first started there were no wornings and no lights on the dash, now I am getting nottifications on the Ford app and there has been a wrench light ththat comes on the dash periodicly. Currently the truck is at the dealership for a full transmission rebuild suggusted by them. Costing almost $6000 and acourding to them this is the only fix for it at this time. The clutch basket has failed sending improper fluid pressure though out the transmission.

The vehicle was purchased brand new from a Ford dealership in 2019 in Virgina. Later, a service bulletin was released by Ford for a "cold start rattle" and cam phaser failure through the ford pass app and by mail. This service bulletin extended the warranty on the cam phaser parts to cover up to 100% of the cost to fix the vehicle. At that time, due to being a military family we had moved to Florida and never received the service bulletin in the mail. After reviewing the service bulletin for the vehicle on the ford pass app, it was taken to a Ford dealership in Miami to be inspected. The Ford Miami dealership did not think there was a cam phaser issue with the vehicle at that time and refused to fix vehicle. Ultimately, the vehicle was taken back to a Ford dealership in Ohio to have it reinspected for the same issue (The cold start rattle/Cam Phaser). The Ford Dealership assessed the vehicle and stated, it in fact has the known issues with the Cam Phaser failure. The vehicle is under the mileage for the service bulletin. However, Ford is unwilling to fix the vehicle due to exceeding the date of the service bulletin. This issue puts my safety and others on the road at risk, because if the cam phaser is not fixed the motor of the vehicle will fail and could potentially cause serious injury or death. The vehicle is not safe to drive at this time. This problem has been confirmed by a Ford Dealership and the vehicle is currently sitting at the dealership awaiting to be fixed. There are no warning lights on the vehicle for this issue.
