In March of 2022, Ford launched a TSB campaign for its F150 model trucks spanning a few years. The TSB was for a Cam Phaser issue and the company offered an extended mileage warranty with a tiered coverage chart based on your current miles while experiencing the problem. The campaign ended January of 2023. I own a 2019 F-150 and my truck began having the issues under the TSB in April of 2023. When I brought the issue to the Ford dealership, I was then informed of the open TSB (TSB's are not made public, but rather opened up for mechanics use to easily diagnose an issue). I was told that due to my mileage as well as missing the 'expiration of the campaign' by just a few months, I would have to cover the cost of the repair. After battling with Ford, I was able to gain some assistance from the dealership towards the cost of the repair. My truck was dropped off to a Ford dealership on May 8th, 2023 and is still there awaiting parts for this KNOWN issue. There are roughly 40,000 parts for this issue that are on backorder. I was updated yesterday that the parts are still 2-3 weeks out from being available. Not having my vehicle for close to 3 months now and still being expected to pay $750 for a repair with an active TSB is absurd. At what point does this issue constitute a recall? I am writing and requesting that this issue be a known recall to the affected trucks. For a consumer to have to pay for a cost that is out of their control, and a known/acknowledged issue by the dealer/company, especially with a 40,000 part backorder-- there should be no reason myself, or anyone else should have to pay any cost to fix the problem. Please let me know what can or needs to be done further to try and have this TSB converted to a recall on these affected F-150s.

The truck has 68,250 mi and ford has this common problem with all 3.5L Ecoboost VCT cam phasers that have loud noise on cold start. If not repaired it can cause to engine failure, Ford has designed new VCT to solve the problem and issued a recall # 21n03 but I found out that they didn't include my truck vin #. I called Ford customer service and she told me that I qualified with the requirement and she con not explained why my vin # doesn't covered.

Beginning 3 months ago, intermittently during in-town traffic driving, the vehicle will shut off. It happened about once a month. Three weeks ago when it did this, it said Low Charging System, so I took it to the dealer where purchased it. The Alternator tested Low, so it was replaced. Two weeks later, it died at a stoplight again & at Idle, then the Dash Message said Disengage Auto-Shut Off and Restart Engine. I called the dealer where purchased it & they came and got it. They tested it for a couple days & also had several people drive it, and they said it did fine with the Auto-Shut Off Turned On. Well this afternoon I drove it local around my own town, and it's still runs rough. It idles rough and is acting like it wants to die again at stoplights. I only way to be comfortable driving it is with the Auto-Shut-Off Disabled. In traffice at a redlight that turns green, and if you're stalled out, it's going to cause a rear-end collision. Not to mention it's hard on the battery and alternator having to keep restarting at intermittent intervals in traffic. The dealer said they drove it around their lot area, however, it doesn't do it unless drive it for 45 minutes or an hour. When discussed this with 3 area Ford Dealers, they all said it's going to be hard to find. There's no Check Engine Light or any sort of Code that can be used. They also stated it's probably something small causing it. One specific dealer stated that something else is causing this issue, and until that is found and fixed, it's going to keep doing it. The dealer that's been handling this and purchased from, did a Factory Reset on the PCM.

On July 14, 2022, I took my F150 to Ford and it was determined that the 10 speed transmission was going to need to be replaced. I had 60,400 miles on it when it starts having major malfunction going on in the Powertrain. At the time the transmission replacement was being done, it was Ford-??s knowledge that the Cam phasers were not functioning correctly.. causing sudden jerk and knocking.. Cam Phasers we-??re not replace last year nor looked at, even though I told them that there was sudden jerks happening. It was under warranty at that time (last year). Ford also knew that reprogramming the trucks software, does not correct any of the problems that they are having. Now at 70,000 miles I-??m going back in to, Southwest Ford in Hudson Oaks, Texas, to get these parts replaced as soon as they are available. They are requesting $700 (just like when the transmission was replaced). Which it is my opinion that the total amount should be covered-$1800.

PowerTrain Malfunction Failed, notification on my vehicle appeared on 4/28/23, although I had been notifying dealer for 3 months prior the safety issue I was experiencing, and nearly got killed on a major interstate, on 4/26/23 my truck stalled as foot pedal would not work. Major safety of semi-trucks and other vehicles on main I30 Interstate were trying to avoid hitting me due to my vehicle abruptly downshifts from 10- to 1st gear. Foot pedal inoperable during that time. Yes, the dealer and Ford on 4/28/23 provided me a rental vehicle after my near collision experience until they figure out what to do, replace transmission or rebuild, unresolved. No the vehicle had no warnings, but did have symptons, which I took to dealer and they ran a diagnostic, and found nothing, they said there are TSBs out there with the downshifting issues, and stalling, jerking of transmission. But they said just wait it out initially, and I had to call Ford Corporate relations and raise the roof, after I nearly got killed by semi trucks from being stuck in a major interstate highway. December 2022 when it began, the dealer kept doing a reset, which seemed to make it worse, then when I told them how unsafe it was they ignored me, until April 26th when I left a voice mail after nearly being killed. I demanded service as I have a warranty and they ignored the symptoms for so long. Multiple people could have been killed on the interstate when my truck stalled, I had to try and coast to the side of interstate as the truck foot pedal did not work after downshifting from 8 to 1.
