Since I have purchased the 2022 Ford F-150 I have had several incidents where the cruise control has set itself. A couple incidents have resulted in me slamming on the brakes to avoid collision. I have taken it to the dealer a few times and they have replaced everything that has to do with the cruise control and it still sets itself from time to time but it's sporadic. The dash lights/instrument cluster has went completely out 2-3 time and came back on. When it does come back on the drive mode disabled light is on and I can't change the drive modes. The entertainment/map screen has froze up several time. The map will freeze and I can't change the music or do anything on the screen.

While driving on interstate (I-95) truck lost power and stopped in lane of traffic. Car displayed the following messages "Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power" and "High-Voltage Battery Warning" (see attached from Ford App). After turning truck off and on a few time and waiting several minutes it drove again, but displayed same messages. Tuck was serviced at dealership on 4/16/20204 before this event to get recalls and software updates made.

I am having multiple electrical glitches with the vehicle. While I was in bluecruise the self driving mode the vehicle warned me to take control and when I did the vehicle was stuck in a loop on the highway with notifications alarms. I was able to take a video one of the times. I took it to the ford dealer and they said they needed me to bring it back when an engineer was available. While waiting to go back had another serious issue with the head unit/audio system when I started up the vehicle. Ear damaging sounds came on and I lost control of the head unit. Shut the truck off and turned it back on and the ear piercing noises persisted. I made a video of this too. My head unit randomly reboots while driving the vehicle. Went back to ford and they did an update instead of having engineers diagnose the problem. Audio system still doesn-??t work right and I think it is damaged from the event.

The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the display screen would display black and reboot itself before restarting. In addition, while driving the vehicle the rearview camera image remained on while driving forward. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module) needed to be replaced for the third time. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and two cases were opened. The failure mileage was approximately 27,275.

Component: The optional "Pro Power Onboard" system reports detecting a ground fault on the center infotainment screen when executing the onboard test function on the same screen or when plugging in a standard electrical outlet tester unit. The outlet tester reports the ground and hot wires are reversed when plugged into any outlet on the vehicle. Safety: My safety has not yet been impacted, however as the system states a ground fault was detected, there is a potential short in the vehicle's electrical systems that could cause damage to more critical components. Reproduced: The first dealership the vehicle was taken to refused to inspect the problem. They plugged devices into the outlets on the vehicle that did not have ground pins on their plugs (a phone charger and a vacuum cleaner) and both operated normally. Inspected: I have an active case file open with the manufacturer to attempt to resolve the issue. The case was opened after the first dealership failed to acknowledge the issue with the vehicle. Other: There were no warning lamps or other messages prior to the problem. The first instance of the message occurred while driving with no outlets were in use. The vehicle does not produce any DTC codes at time of writing.

Loud, oscillating static through speakers when starting vehicle. Measured at 106db. Audio controls non-responsive. Shutting off vehicle and opening door eventually caused it to stop. Resumed again when restarting vehicle. Eventually stopped after letting it sit 30 minutes. This is extremely dangerous. Not only is this a level that can lead to hearing damage, but if this happened while driving, it could easily result in an accident.

Vehicle's engine will not start. When attempting to start, it will turn on all usual electrical components, but will immediately show an warning message to "Stop Safely Now" along with an engine light of a red outlined truck with exclamation mark. Followed by a message of accessory mode on, however the engine will not start with no access to power steering or shifting gears. Normal attempts to jump start or charge the battery will not work. All fuses and harness connections appear to be normal. After researching Ford community forums, this appears to be a common complaint in the Powerboost Hybrid 2021-2022 Ford F-150s. Extremely inconvenient as this situation has left us stranded several hours from home with no reasonable solution other than to tow to a dealership. We hope our message helps encourage Ford Motor to continue researching the issue and come with a reasonable solution for all effected.

Campaign/NHTSA# 23S30/23V418 Issue Date 2023-06-09 Description On your vehicle, it may be possible that your reversing lamps may not function due to microscopic cracks that can develop in the vehicles rear lightbar. If a microscopic crack is present, condensation can potentially enter the reversing lamp lens through these cracks and cause electrical failure to the reverse lamps. Safety Risk This may result in inoperative reverse lamps which can reduce the awareness of other motorists or road users of the drivers intention to operate the vehicle in reverse gear, increasing the risk of injury or crash. Remedy Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to replace the rear lightbar free of charge parts and labor. Campaign/NHTSA# 23C38/23V801 Issue Date 2023-11-28 Description Affected vehicles may have software logic that does not reset the electronic stability control esc system to default operation at the initiation of each ignition cycle. Section 5.4.1 of fmvss no. 126 requires that the vehicles esc system return to the manufacturers original default esc mode at the initiation of each ignition cycle Safety Risk The vehicle operator may not notice that the vehicle operates differently after receiving the ota update 6.3.0 and now remains in off-road mode with a reduced esc state after cycling the ignition. If the vehicle operator does not notice the esc off telltale in the cluster, they may not know the vehicle is in a reduced esc state. For these vehicles, failing to revert back to a normal esc-on state after being in off-road mode makes the vehicles noncompliant to fmvss no. 126, increasing the risk of crash. Remedy The remedy for this program is a software update to accessory protocol interface module apim. Ford began Ford power-up over-the-air deployments to update the apim software for affected vehicles in November 2023. Alternatively, owners will have the option to take their vehicle to a Ford or Lincoln dealer to complete the software update. Campaign# 23B1

The climate control system will malfunction and make the cab of the truck unbearably hot, even to the point of physical discomfort at the feet of the driver. The air is so hot blowing on the drivers feet that I have to remove my feet from the pedals to cool. This is a major distraction to the driver. The dealer says this is normal. No warnings or alarm messages.

During a long road trip my truck displayed a message stating that I had a Powertrain Malfunction/ Reduced Power. My truck, while driving, reduced itself to half power. It also would not charge. I was 3 states away from home when this happened. I took the vehicle to my Ford dealership once I was able to get it home. The technician simply cleared a code and said that the issue could not be replicated. Clearly there is an issue. I know several people with the same issue. Frankly, I don't think that I can trust my new truck a significant distance from my residence.

The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated that after initially starting the vehicle and driving uphill out of the driveway at approximately 5-10 MPH, the vehicle lost power. The failure was self-corrected immediately after the failure. While driving approximately 30-35 MPH, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the mechanic was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and it was confirmed that the VIN was not under recall. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline to file a complaint. The approximate failure mileage was 28,000.

Vehicle started making EXTREMELY loud popping noises from all speakers. This occurred at start up and repeated several times. I turned off the vehicle and did not drive but I-??ve now researched and found others with the same truck system-??s experiencing the same and some crashes have occurred. There does not seem to be any Ford representative acknowledging the problem so I wanted to report it.
