My truck is experiencing the " death wobble". truck hits a bump in the road at high speeds and violently goes out of control steering. Feels like the whole front end of the truck is falling off. Brought it to the Ford dealer to fix. They claimed it is the rag steering joint. Was replaced a few months ago and now the wobbled is back! problem not fixed!! I am a registered traffic engineer in the state of California and this is a very unsafe vehicle to operate in public. Please take this complaint seriously!! as a safety expert I would never let anyone drive this vehicle in this condition. Ford needs to step up and fix this issue before someone dies. Please note that this complaint will officially put the Ford Motor Company on notice of this issue. I will contact my dealer tomorrow to inform of this issue and expect that Ford will fix this design flaw at their expense. Thank you for any help, [xxx] P.E. traffic engineer information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

While traveling on interstate at highway speeds (65-75mph), a violent shaking and vibration began suddenly. Potholes or sudden jarring, such as traveling over a bridge expansion joint, seems to trigger the incidents. The vehicle continues to shudder and vibrate with such intensity, it makes steering and even holding the steering wheel tenuous and unpredictable. The vibration doesn't disappear until the vehicle has slowed to less than 40 mph. It is a terrifying loss of control while moving at high speed. Rough pavement or transitions in the paving surface seems to trigger it. It has begun at speeds as low as 60mph and as high as 75mph. I have video which shows the effect inside the passenger compartment. This is a 2018 F250 with 46K miles and fully stock everything. Never been modified or used for heavy off road or towing use.

The front end shakes or wobbles violently at normal highway speeds after hitting even the slightest bump making it hard to maintain control of the vehicle. I received a recall notice from the manufacture to address this issue and had the vehicle repaired under this recall however, the problem persist.

At speeds over 50 mph the steering wheel starts to shake, sometimes violently. I have just over 23000 miles on this vehicle and it started approximately 2 weeks ago. I have had the tires rotated, air pressure checked and alignment. Now its time to go to the Ford dealership for their analysis.

Erratic steering and vibration between 40-60 mph. This has been called the 'death wobble'. there are currently several lawsuits with Ford. Took my truck to Ford dealer last week for safety recall for replacement of damper assembly but still experience worst problem of wobble. Had to emergency stop almost causing an accident. My 2018 F250 6.7 L diesel began to shake violently when drive on a flat surface highway at approx 55 mph. Steering wheel shook violently and I lost control. Here's in to on coming traffic lane. Just missing a head-on collision with another vehicle. Front wheels and steering wheel did not stop shaking until a slowed to 20 mph. Hapen with no large bumps. Normal highway conditions. Hapoen again the same day. Both were on straight roads. Appears this condition is referred to as the death wobble.

While driving on interstate highway 70 in the middle of denver, we hit a small expansion joint. The steering wheel was shaking so violently I couldn't hardly keep a hold of it to steer. I began braking and when I got down to 25 mph it stopped. My speed wasn't excessive, I was doing the 65 mph limit. It has done this "death wobble" twice since then, and now I am apprehensive to drive it on the interstate. I will make an appointment with our local Ford dealer soon to look it over, but honestly I don't have any hopes to a remedy. I was hoping to report this, and hopefully with the many others that are having the same issue, Ford may have to recall these trucks. Unfortunately, someone will have to perish to get any action from Ford. Thank you, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

I was driving down us 1 North at approximately 70 mph, when I traveled across an uneven (rough patch) in my lane and my steering wheel along with what felt like the whole truck started violently shaking. I let go of the steering wheel slightly and quickly dropped my speed and then steered my truck to the shoulder of the highway. Once I composed myself, I recalled that the steering returned to normal once my speed was decreased to approximately 40mph. I made several notes immediately about what, when and where this happened. I immediately started calling my dealership to relay what had just happened and to make an appointment. After several appointments and 2nd opinions, no one has been able to resolve the problem. I have been told conflicting stories from Ford about the problem and it seems like this has happened to numerous people across the country. My wife refuses to drive this truck any longer. I've had every part of the steering (damper, linkage, caster, etc) checked and been told there is nothing wrong. I have spent lots of money trying to replace parts I thought could be the culprit. During this time, I have experienced this issue two more times. I was driving my stock ( no modifications) in normal conditions when this exact problem occurred again. The second time was while I was traveling down US1 South and crossed a bridge expansion joint traveling approximately 70mph, when my steering wheel started shaking so violently, I had to let go and just quickly apply the brakes to reduce the speed so I could again grasp the steering wheel and drive to the shoulder if the road. After 4 different mechanic shops and getting the "run around" from Ford, nothing has happened. I am currently putting a over $300 steering stabilizer on to help mask the problem if this happens once again.

My vehicle has been in the dealer four times to correct what is known as the death wobble. Ford calls it steering oscillation. The death wobble occurs at highway speeds after I drive over a pot hole, expansion joint in a bridge that is not perpendicular or any road abnormality. After multiple Ford dealers repaired it I have had no issues. However, after 5,000 to 10,000 miles the death wobble begins to happen. I've escalated the issue to Ford multiple times but it falls on deaf ears. I have had no modifications made to the truck to cause this to occur. The truck is 100% stock. Please help. I am a single father and this is my daily driver.

I purchased a 2018 Ford F250 in January. While driving the vehicle on a 4 lane highway and crossing railroad crossing the front wheels starting bouncing and shaking so bad that I had to com to a complete stop to regain control of the vehicle. After researching I found that it is referred to as a " death wobble". I purchased the vehicle so that my wife and I could tow a camper trailer but after this happened not sure I want to put my family in danger by driving this vehicle. Ford has replaced parts on the vehicle and said this would fix it. Other state this is only a temporary fix that it will do it again. Ford does not seem to care but this vehicle is very dangerous

Truck experiences the death wobble when hitting bumps in the road. Truck shakes violently and must pull out of traffic to reduce speed or stop before issue resolves. No warning light indicators illumnate. Truck has 58,000 miles now. Issue began around 44,000 miles. We have short video but cannot upload here due to file type not being permitted. After seeing the numerous complains on this website, wondering why nothing has been done. Ford clearly has been aware of this issue and continues to sell the truck with a known defect and a part on national back order.
