While driving, a bump to the suspension causes the suspension/ to bounce or death wobble (as we have seen in the Jeep world). This has occurred/ multiple times at speeds from 45-70mph. Several times at highway speeds have caused the truck to change directions. The most current event occurred yesterday (9-25-2019) and required me to slow the vehicle to under 10mph to recover. The shaking was violent enough to open the glove box. I have had 5 of these occurrence so far in ownership of this vehicle which was purchased new 14 months ago. The vehicle is completely oem including wheels and tires. Nothing has been added. I cant use the vehicle as intended (towing) as I'm concerned of loosing control of the vehicle under those circumstances.

I have experienced violent shaking and extreme vibration resonating from the front wheels and steering components of my Ford F250 Super Duty truck while driving. I understand this to be referred to as the 'death wobble' and for very good reason. I have 37 years of law enforcement experience, and I can assure you this issue left unchecked will be the root cause many traffic deaths past, present and future. It's occurred five times with me to date within 18 months all five causing total loss of steering control, and the last two causing me to cross center divide of the roadway and into oncoming traffic. I narrowly avoided a head on collision with an 18 wheeler in one of those incidents. I've had the vehicle checked by dealerships and independent shops. I've spent thousands of dollars on repairs and parts. Ford needs to offer a solution now before any else is put in harms way.. or dies.

The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-250. While driving various speeds, the vehicle shook violently when driving over a bump or pothole. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to sawgrass Ford (14501 w sunrise blvd, sunrise, fl 33323, (954) 851-9000) where it was diagnosed that the brakes and rotors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was unknown.

Experienceing the terrible death wobble. While driving at highway speeds and ya hit a bump like an expansion joint I get that terrible wobble.had the stablizer bar replaced, tires rotated and rebalanced. A bit scary when ya pulling a trailer. On a local county road it happens twice a day everyday, it's my work/daily driver truck.

Driving at 65 mph the truck began to wobble uncontrollably. I was unable to control steering and was taken left across two lanes of traffic into the median on a highway. The truck wobbles and shakes so bad I was unable to reduce speed very quickly.

This vehicle has a serious defect which Ford needs to finally acknowledge. When hitting bumps or bridge transitions on the highway the front end begins to shake violently also known as the "death wobble". the only way to stop the shaking is to slow the truck down to about 25 miles per hour on a 75 mile hour road. This is going to cause a accident or kill somebody. My truck is now at the dealership for the 3rd time in less than a year with under 15,000 miles on the vehicle. After research this appears to be a serious flaw with the 2017 & 2018 Ford F250 trucks. I see that several complaints have been filed and it is sad that that a mandate is not being issued to correct this problem. This is a serious issue and waiting until someone gets injured or killed should not be an option.

At 17,000 miles the truck started going into what everyone calls a "death wobble" when at high speed and/or rough spot in the road. It is clear that they have a major safety issue here and they are doing nothing about it and their fix is only a patch that delays the problem to a later date.

When driving between 60 and 75 mph the truck begins to shake violently. The steering wheel rotates back and forth out of control. The mirrors rattle and the entire truck bounces. This will occur after hitting a rough patch of interstate or when braking to exit the interstate. The truck must be slowed to approximately 40 mph before the shaking subsides and normal driving can occur. A continuing problem. When I take it back to the dealer service department for warranty I am simply told "they were not able to replicate the problem"

This vehicle suffers violent shaking and shuttering when hitting rough patches in the road. This occurs at higher speeds, but I have seen it at 45 mph. Very dangerous when this occurs at 75 mph on a highway interstate. The shaking requires immmediate slowdown to almost a complete stop. This vehicle is a danger on the road.

My 2018 Ford F250 Super Duty has a violent shake (death wobble) if I hit any kind of bump in the road at highway speed, my truck will shake so bad to the point I cant hold onto the steering wheel and whatever is in my cup holders goes flying in vehicle. I have given Ford 3 attempts to fix this issue and every time they try to fix it, the problem keeps happening. I have contacted Ford's corporate office and spoke with them multiple times about the issue. At this time, they have told me that I just need to keep trying to get it fixed and they refuse to help with any kind of trade assistance to change trucks. Ford knows this is an issue with 2017/2018 Super Duty trucks but doesn't seem to care about their customers. I'm terribly disappointed in how I have been treated by a company that I spend over $250,000 with over my lifetime.

While driving approximately 65 mph on March 9, 2019 the front end of my 2018 Ford F250 began violently shaking/ oscillating after hitting a rough patch of road in the far right lane of the highway. I lost control of my vehicle and ended up crossing two lanes of traffic before coming to rest in the grass median strip of the highway. I'm worried about my safety and the safety of other drivers. Luckily no one was near me when this happened. My wife will not drive my truck anymore due to this serious issue. I will be contacting the dealership tomorrow.

Started around 15000 miles extreme shaking in the front end (death wobble).it happened when I went over certain bridges and over passes on the interstate around 70 mph. Now has 20000 miles on it and has become unsafe to drive. The shaking happens quite often now. Even going slower on side roads, all it takes is hitting a small bump in the road apparently this has become a nationwide problem. The dealership agreed to fix it under warranty. Have been waiting almost a month for parts to come in, they are on backorder

I have a 2018 Ford F250 at about 4450 miles had this death wobble happen on the freeway. Had no load and was doing about 80mph, just passed another vehicle as I was pulling in front of it I hit a pot hole and the death wobble started. I had to slow to about 30mph to regain control, nearly caused a accident with the vehicles behind me.

  • 35,200 miles
Experienced steering wheel oscillation (death wobble) this has occured while driving on the interstate after driving over an uneven pavement at speeds of 55, 65 and 70mph. The steering wheel shakes violently and lost steering and braking capabilities during the event. It stopped after I decelerated to about 40mph forth until I slowed to approximately 35mph. Ford does have a tsb out on the issue but they are only replacing parts that have worn out, not the hidden issue that is causing heavy duty suspension parts to wear out so quickly.
