Driver hit a pothole in the road while driving at approx. 50 mph and the steering wheel started shaking violently. Driver slowed down immediately and the shaking stopped. Driver later went over a railroad track on the hwy. and reported the steering wheel started shaking violently again and the driver couldn't control the steering of the truck as it veered off the hwy. and almost hit a metal light post in the median of the hwy. The driver was able to apply brakes to stop since there was no traffic behind him. The driver and his passengers were not injured but scared (of course). There were no warning lamps, messages or symptoms of the problem prior to the incident. The earliest appointment we can get with an authorized Ford dealer is over a week away. The problem will be checked out at that time.

when my headlights are on, many times my rear lights do not work. This has never been so when first turned on but they go off later (I have after market side marker lights on my truck so I can see this). If I move the headlight switch one direction or the other, they will come on, Then I can move it back and they will stay on. May not happen again for days, or may happen again in minutes. I spoke with the dealer, and they have no bulletins about this issue and can not address until they stop working all together. Since then I have been watching trucks of this body style and see them go past with headlights on, then I look in my mirror and many do not have any tail lights lit. In this week alone I have counted 17 trucks with no tail lights when head lights are on. In a standard pickup that does not have side marker lights it would be impossible to know this is occurring. I bough this truck new in June of 2019 and had noticed that pulling my trailer, that many times the trailer side marker lights would go out driving down the road. I assumed the trailer had an issue. It wasn't until April 16, 2021 that I noticed this issue. I had an after market body installed after removing the pickup bed, and the following day, I noticed this issue. I assumed a ground issue with the body install, but later that day they came on and stayed on so I assumed the ground during installation had been faulty and resolved itself. This week I came out of a store with truck running because my help was inside truck and noticed the tail lights were not on, but head lights were. Once I moved switch on notch, they came on as described above, that is when I contacted Ford Dealer to no resolve and began watching other trucks and discovered I am not alone in this issue.

Truck tailgate has been opening on it-??s own while I-??m driving for several weeks. The first few times I thought I had maybe pushed the FOB in my pocket somehow. I pull a bumper pull trailer most of the time and I had been taking the FOB out of my pocket and setting it in my console so I would not -??accidentally-?? open the tailgate. Over the weekend I ran to the store and when I put my truck in reverse I could see from the camera that the tailgate was already open, and the FOB was sitting inside my console. Today I-??m pulling a trailer and the tailgate opened up again at some point and smashed the tailgate all up from it crushing against the jack on the trailer. FORD tells me my truck wasn-??t involved in the recall that was issued for this already and yet my truck is experiencing the exact same thing with no recourse other than to file it on my insurance and get hit with a higher policy amount or pay for it out of pocket and from what I can see will cost several thousand dollars. A quick internet search shows there are far more than me that are having issues with this.

Twice now when we have been on I75 in brandon, fl, we came over a rough patch of road at 60 or 65 mph and the truck began to shake violently making steering extremely difficult and horrifying. Both times we had to pull over across multiple lanes of traffic to the shoulder and come to complete stop. We thought we had lost the tread on a tire or had some other tire issue. We didn't. when we started again, the truck drove fine. It has also become slightly unresponsive going bumps on the highway previously but I hadn't correlated the events. I have now since finding out about the steering dampener issue. Our dealership in ft myers, fl will not fix it until 5/6/21.

Just bought truck last Friday and drove yesterday (3/3/21) for third time and on a four lane highway driving around 60-65mph and started to cross a bridge the truck started shaking violently and I mean whole truck was shaking andi did not know what had happened..I was able to slow down and get to outside lane and pull off road.. looked around truck saw nothing out of ordinary and continued to dealer to get the 2 new tires put on that were ordered and when I told them what happened they said oh no ES we know how to fix just get a new steering damper and they are on back order from Ford and have been and may not be in until end of month..and unfortunately they said it will continue until fixed and if need to drive don't go over about 40-45 mph..I was frantic and scared thank god no cars around me..

I was driving home from the store going down a road at about 55 miles per hour and all the sudden my truck started to shake violently I had a real hard time maintaining control of the vehicle because the steering wheel shaking so bad there was cars behind me and all I could do was slam on the brakes and come to a complete stop in the middle of the road, this was extremely scary I don't understand how a new vehicle could have such a major problem my truck is a 2019 F250 with 17,000 miles now I'm scared to drive it again, what if my kids were in the truck with me and this caused us to be in a accident. This is totally unacceptable this needs to be fixed, I called Ford and made a appointment for them to look at it in three weeks... so what I'm the mean time am I supposed to drive this truck and pray it doesn't happen again"?"

I was driving on a freeway on an incline and slight curve. There was a little dip in the road. The truck started shaking like I had a flat tire. I pulled over checked truck and tires over. Found no problem. I pulled back on the freeway and then it drove normal. Did research and I had never heard of the death wobble before that.

Ford F-250 at highway speed (50-70mph) will become totally unstable after hitting an uneven section of road, bump, pot hole. Vehicle begins to shake violently. Vehicle control is not gained until the truck is slowed down to 15-20 mph. Other cars notice and slow down, to avoid possible collision. The issue is and will result in a fatal accident. Vehicle was taken to dealership for this issue and was told they could not duplicate the problem. The issue was explained and nothing was done to solve the problem.

Had tailgate recall done in February 2020. Tailgate continues to open on its own. Dealer can't find the problem. Recent incident 11/9/2020 tailgate opened twice while on road and damaged 5th wheel camper cargo door. Vehicle at dealer 3 days couldn't get tailgate to repeat incident. Advised nothing they can do. Prior to leaving dealer tailgate wouldn't open. Recall fix has not worked. I searched internet and found numerous others who are having same problem.
