10/9/2020 am driving onto 4 lane highway at 65mph starting to enter highway from the on ramp. Hit pothole at highway joint and truck started a violent shake in the front end. Shaking was so violent I and to brake hard to get down to 40mph for shaking to stop. 10/9/2020 pm driving on 4 lane highway at 65mph (different highway). Hit rough section oft highway and truck started a violent shake in the front end. Again so violent I and to brake hard to get down to 40mph for shaking to stop. 1013/2020 am driving on 4 lane highway at 65mph. Exiting highway to start on exit ramp, hit pothole at highway joint and truck started a violent shake in the front end. So violent I had to brake hard to get down to 40mph for shaking to stop. Items on passenger side of truck shook so hard they fell to the floorboards. The shaking in the steering wheel made me loose grip initially on each instance.

I was driving on the freeway about 70mph when I drove over a small bump in the road and the steering wheel began to shake violently almost causing a crash. I held on to the steering wheel and slowed the truck down to around 15mph to get the shaking to stop. The truck only has 5494 miles on it and this seems very unacceptable. The wobble also happened 2 more times on that same trip home.

While on the interstate 10 and passing a truck, I hit a small bump. The truck started vibrating very, badly and almost forced my vehicle into the side of the truck I was passing. I applied the brakes hard and held control to let the truck pass on the right side, then pulled off the road. The vibration happened 4 times before I could get my vehicle back home. This was at highway speeds and easily could have been a deadly crash

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-250. The contact stated that while driving approximately 80 mph, the vehicle started to shake and vibrate abnormally, causing the driver to lose control of the steering wheel and inadvertently drive into the right lane. The vehicle was taken to mullinax Ford located at 2317 fl-44, new smyrna beach, fl 32168 who diagnosed that the cause of the failure was due to a defective steering linkage. The steering linkage was replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 40,000. Consumer stated death wobble occurred 3 times. Steering part was recalled but consumer was never notified. Back up sensor beeps but does not allow to disengage the beeping. The wobble was so severe it blew the tailgate and alarm goes off randomly.

While driving down a highway and there is a small bump, the front wheels shake violently. It has happened to me 3 times in the last 500 miles. I have to brake hard and come to a stop to get the shimmy to stop. It has almost caused me to be and accident twice. The truck only has 22,000 miles on it.

This truck has 27000 miles on it and suffers from the 'death wobble for the last 12 months or so. Ford has replaced the steering damper and did not resolve it. Now it is in again for the issue that was not resolved and they are charging me for a front end alignment. This truck has never been off-road or ran into anything. This has been going on for at least a year. This should be covered under warranty and not out of my pocket. The wobble happens when hitting an expansion joint or rough road at speeds over 45 mph. Severe stearin vibration to the point I feel I am losing control.

Vehicle experiences severe "death wobble" on the highway starting at speeds as low as 55 mph. I have ensured that tire pressure is set at what the vehicle manual recommends, as well as rotating tires. When the "death wobble" initiates, only slowing down to 25 mph or below will make it stop. I have experienced this in heavy traffic on I-15 between salt lake city and ogden. Fortunately, I have not been in an accident yet. Due to all of the construction happening on I-15, I have had to slow down to 20 mph in a lane with barricades on both sides, forcing the traffic behind me to slow to the same speed. I put my 4 way flashers on and do by best to slow down as rapidly as possible without causing an accident. It feels like it is only a matter of time before this causes an accident. Ford has had the vehicle twice and I still have this issue. I have scheduled a third appointment hoping that the problem will be fixed this time. Vehicle mileage provided is approximate. This has happened dozens of times since purchasing the vehicle in March of 2020. Date provided was the most recent, and most severe.

2019 Ford F250 Super Duty developed the "death wobble" when driving over a bridge approach which caused the truck to shake to the point that I had to slow down to 25 mph and pull over to the shoulder of the road. Felt like the tire was falling off, but after inspecting the tires there wasn't any issue. I then proceeded to inspect the front steering components for damage and found nothing. Began driving again and all was fine for approximately 20 miles and it happened again. Ford dealership was called and service mgr told me it was a normal for the F250 to act this way. The truck will not be driven again until this is fixed.

Traveling at highway speeds approx 65-70 mph I struck a ridge in a construction zone that crossed the roadway in a slight diagonal manner. My vehicle immediately began to shake and wobble uncontrollably causing me to cross two left lanes until I braked hard to below 25 mph and the shaking stopped allowing me to regain control. Traffic behind me had to veer out of the way as I slowed down dramatically and thankfully there was no one in the two left lanes.

At 23,000 miles my truck started shaking violently while traveling down the freeway at 60 miles per hour. It was shaking so violently that I lost control of steering completely. The only way to stop the shaking was to slam on my brakes in traffic before I hit the highway divider. My research tells me it is the death wobble. It shook something loose in my diesel engine, because the engine is knocking now. On the way home I stayed on the service road and kept the truck under 45 miles per hour. It happened again at 45 miles per hour, so I started driving at 30mph to try and make it home. It happened 3 more times at 30 mph. I discovered that it starts shaking when I go over the slightest bump in the road. It shakes so violently it throws me around in the seat and I cannot hang onto the steering wheel. I have to come to a complete stop when it happens before it will stop shaking. Once I come to a complete stop I can start accelerating again without it shaking. As soon as I drive over a bump in the road the shaking starts again. It is extremely dangerous, because I loose total control of the truck, and I am a 6 foot muscular man. No matter how hard I try I cannot hang onto the steering wheel. Now I understand why they call it the death wobble. It is very dangerous.

I bought a used 2019 Ford F250 4X4 with 19K miles from a Dodge dealer. It drove fine on the test drive but of course, test drives are never real world situations. I went out of town for a week and they delivered it to me the following Monday. About an hour after they dropped it off, I went for a drive. Within 5 miles from the house it went into a death wobble. I have never experienced this before. It was beyond scary! at the time it started, I was running about 70mph on a two-lane road. I let off the gas and that didn't help. I lightly touched the brakes and it got worse. So I stood on the brakes and that shot me across the oncoming traffic lane into the ditch on the left. The truck was uncontrollable, and neither the anti-lock brakes nor the traction control systems were able to function properly. I believe I almost had a rollover. Sliding sideways, I was able to come back out on the road. I thank god there was no oncoming traffic or I would not be reporting this. I and the other occupants in that car would be dead! I continued on my trip trying to be extra careful. It happened six more times that day before I returned home, and I started experimenting with it. I can recreate it at any speeds from 60 to 80mph. Since I bought it at a Dodge dealer over a week earlier, they would not do anything about taking it back. Now its at a Ford dealer getting looked at. This truck is brand new. I firmly believe the previous owner had this issue and instead of trying to get it fixed, they traded it to a Dodge dealer believing the dealer would not know. It worked because now someone new has it and cannot get out of it for several years. I know filing this complaint may not affect anything, but I wanted to have a record of it.

While driving at his ghway speed limit of 75 mph I went over uneven break in road and steering wheel violently started shaking. I pulled over and stopped thinking I had a blowout. Tires were ok. Got back on road and continued home. This was at approximately 10,000 miles. A few days later at 75mph experiences it again. This time almost lost control. Called dealer who acted like they never heard of it, but took it in. They changed out damper assembly. I'm at 12,000miles now and feel a vibration starting up. Nothing like the first two times though. I am worried that they may not fix again. I do worry that it could cause me to lose control on crowded interstate. Something should be done for recalling these trucks.

When there is a change in pavement or bump in the road, at high rates of speed, the vehicle begins violently shaking and is almost impossible to control. I've since searched the internet and this is referred to as a "death wobble." This has happened at 55 mph and at 80 mph. Front of vehicle always seems to "float" when there is a change in pavement or bump in the road, regardless of whether the death wobble occurs.

While driving at highway speed and pulling a 10,000lb camper West of columbus, oh on a straight portion of I-70W, I hit a groove in the pavement while in a construction zone. The truck began to shake so intensely that I could hardly maintain my grip on the steering wheel. There was no shoulder to speak of so I stopped accelerating and began to slowly apply the brakes in case it exacerbated the issue. The shaking did not subside until I reached 40mph. At that point, I continued on my way and returned home. Both before and since that issue, I have experience similar moments of shaking to a much lesser degree that I had earlier chocked up to the suspension being stiffer than I was used to. I have an appointment with a dealer to inspect the vehicle, but felt a report would be prudent due to dangerous nature of the malfunction at high speed.
