My wife and I were on our way home from a shopping trip late one Saturday evening. We were on a Texas farm to market road driving appx. 65 mph. We hit a small rough place in the road and truck started shaking violently almost uncontrollable I immediately applied the brakes. I had to almost stop in the road before it stopped shaking, it was unsteerable while it was shaking. When we found a safe place to pull over I got out and looked at the front end. I could see nothing wrong so we finished our trip home only driving about 45 mph. When we got home I googled the problem only to find out several people have had this problem (death wobble) I drove it to my dealership Monday morning and told them about the issue. They handed me a preprinted technical service bulletin #19-2274 dated 10 September 2019 and basically said there was nothing they could do until Ford came up with another fix. Apparently this service bulletin did not solve the problem. This was on 16 December 2019. Please help!

Vehicle begins to shake violently when at interstate speeds(70+mph) when hitting rough areas or entering bridges. Today we almost hit a bridge when it happened. It has happened 4 or 5 times in the month. The only way to stop it is to quickly reduce speed and fight steering wheel with both hands. Very difficult to do this on the interstate with other traffic. It began doing this 6 weeks ago at near 8,000 total miles. Vehicle has been in shop twice for this in 3 weeks and is scheduled to go back Monday. They replaced steering stabilizer the first time, alignment the second time, is supposed to have front end lifted Monday. Vehicle is 100% stock. Returned vehicle to dealership today and told them they could keep it. If they don't make it possible to for us to trade it we plan on getting a lawsuit started against them. The dealership seems to know what needs to be done but are limited by Ford on what they can do, depending on how many times it is brought in to be fixed. They said they can replace all the parts at once to fix it but are not allowed to by Ford and are forced to do it in steps. This situation is very dangerous to the occupants and all other people in the vicinity of the vehicle when it happens. All of the problems have occurred between 7500 and 9300 miles.

At hwy speeds hitting a small bumps in the road the truck steering shakes violently have to find a spot to shut the truck down to gain control again dealership says it's fine. Can't steer it and lose control if you can't stop quickly. This has happen on hwy and major busy interstates my truck is not the only one doing this I know of several F250 superduty trucks that have this issue.it happen any time I drive the truck so I have parked it for now. Started in October 18,000 miles truck only has 29,000 on it now but stopped driving it before I kill my self or hurt someone else on the road I have several videos of this happening

I was driving over 55 mph, I hit a bump created by the transition in the road surface from asphalt road to concrete bridge. My vehicle starting shaking violently and the steering when was going up and down, could not control truck in curve, near hit bridge retaining wall. Had to hit brakes to slow down, then vehicle quit shaking and I was able to get control of the truck

On 12/14/19 at approximately 2:25 pm central time, we experienced the "death wobble" in our 2019 Ford F-250 6.2L V8 while driving South along I-35 in southern Kansas by mile marker 31.6, just North of the ks/ok state line. The air temperature outside was 39 degrees Fahrenheit. The bed of the pickup (with tonneau cover) was empty and without load. The highway at that segment was in good condition, but there was a regular expansion joint across both lanes of the highway. We were traveling at a speed of 77 mph on the outside (right) lane when we crossed the joint. At that point, the "death wobble" began. The driver immediately disengaged the cruise control, gently applied the breaks, and attempted to move toward the right shoulder of the road. The wobble continued and did not cease until the vehicle came to a complete stop. After gather our bearings, we reentered traffic. We did not experience it again for the next 50 miles we traveled home. However, once entering Oklahoma, where the highway is significantly in greater ill-repair, the driver continued with caution at a speed no greater than 70 mph and without cruise control.

Center lane of interstate at 70mph when crossing a bridge expansion joint the steering wheel began shaking uncontrollably and I was unable to steer until slowing to 30mph. This has happened 2X in 2 days. Dealership says they will replace steering damper but that problem will return. Force Ford to correct this issue before someone dies.

I was driving on the interstate at 75 mph when I hit a bump in the road. The front end of my truck started to shake violently and steering was terribly impaired. I had to pull off the highway and slow to 30mph to get control of the vehicle.my Ford truck has only 22,000 miles. My 2012 Ford truck did the same thing at 100,000 miles.

My F250 is experiencing what they call the death wobble. I have taken it to 2 different Ford dealers only to be told they have no fix for it and basically sent me on my way with it. No offer for a rental vehicle or anything. I was driving on I20/59 between exit 8 and 68 when it has occurred 3 times so far. Almost lost control of the vehicle to the point my passenger refused to ride again. I hit a bump in the road and the vehicle started violently shaking all over the road and I could not get it out of this until I got down to 45 mph. We have had to cancel our vacation for christmas because we are scared of the vehicle. Paid a lot of money for this truck to be worried about stuff like this.

My Ford has 14300 miles on it. Driving on the highway on 12-7-19 around 55 -65mph, the vehicle started shaking violently. I could not control the steering wheel. The shaking caused passengers coffee cups to slosh out of their cups it was so violent. This occurred on us hwy 79 near hutto Texas around 8 pm in the evening.

Driving on a freeway the entire truck started to shake and vibrate as if we were driving on the worst road possible and all 4 tires had just blown out. We were able to keep control of the vehicle and slow down until we could pull off the road and stop. During our trip, this incident occurred 4 different times in the 2 days we traveled. We were able to finally return home and take the truck to our Ford dealer. We were told that Ford has known about this problem and has a "temporary" fix to change the "steering linkage damper" but will take at least 4 weeks before the part comes in. My vehicle is only one year old with only 4,000 miles on it. We researched this and it is known as the "death wobble" and has been occurring for years on the F250 and F350, yet I was sold this vehicle a year ago and I have never received any recall information or made aware of the problem. This is a serious issue and will lead to someone having a serious accident or even death.

Upon reaching highway speeds(approximately 55-75mph) the front end began to violently shake. This issue started as mere off tracking of the front end, the truck would steer itself. This ended up progressing into such a violent shake that it drove itself off the road. I had no control over the vehicle, and steering control is gone. I wound up in a ditch on my fourth experience with this violent shake.

I have had a very dangerous vibration that occurs in the front end of a vehicle. When my 2019 F250 has experiences death wobble, the entire steering system rapidly turns back and forth, making controlling the vehicle very hard. It normally accuses at speeds above 45 mph to 80 mph. The truck now has 12,000 miles on it and it started at around 9,000 miles.

I have experienced "death wobble" multiple times. It happens when going above 50 mph on the highway. Usually near a bridge or overpass. The vehicle steering becomes impossible to control and the steering wheel and the truck begin shaking violently. The first time it happened was at 6100 miles on an interstate while the truck was going 70 mph. The weather conditions were dry, no wind or rain, and the road condition was smooth. When it first happened, it surprised me and I did not know what was happening and the steering could not be controlled. My truck veered into oncoming traffic towards an 18 wheeler. I managed to steer out of their way on to the median and slow down to about 20 mph and the shaking stopped. The second time was a few hundred miles later when it happened again on a highway while I was going 65 mph. I took the truck into bob utter Ford in sherman Texas and the service advisor laughed at me and told me I had "death wobble". he wrote my name in a spiral notebook and then told me there is no fix for it. He stated Ford has no fix at this time but that my complaint was in writing and if something comes from Ford, he will give me a call. So I asked what am I supposed to do in the meantime. He stated, do not drive over 45 mph until Ford comes up with a solution. They know it is a problem and they don't call it death wobble, they call it steering wobble and they aren't real good at coming up with a fix yet. The vehicle currently has 8100 miles on it and I have experienced "death wobble" again today while transporting my children to school. It is not a matter of if, it is a matter of when a person or an entire family for that matter is killed due to a faulty steering mechanism on this truck. Please help us Ford F250 truck drivers that have been unfortunate enough to purchase a truck that is a ticking time bomb for us.

2019 F250, approx. 13K miles. Travelling straight on highway 60-65 mph and truck entered into the well known "death wobble" or rapid, rhythmic, dangerous oscillation of the front tires causing loss of steering control. Had to reduce speed to 10-15 mph to regain control. This has happened 2 times within 2 consecutive times of driving on the freeway in the same week. Took it into the dealer and they test drove it and confirmed "death wobble". the part (steering dampener) they automatically prescribe (tsb 19-2274) to fix this is on back order 4-6 weeks and we were told "no loaner" and bring the truck back when the part is in. We said "so, we are supposed to drive our family around in a truck that is basically new with a death wobble"" to which the service manager responded "yeah, I know, crazy isn't it"". we already know that tsb 19-2274 is a band aid and not a real solution to the problem. Most who get tsb 19-2274 done are back within a few thousand miles or sooner because death wobble has returned, because the root of the problem has not been fixed. We have a video of our loose tie rod ends clunking and lifting when the steering wheel is moved left and right. We told the service manager about these loose parts - nothing was looked at or recommended to be done regarding these loose parts. We have investigated this problem extensively online and it seems to be happening in epidemic proportions in 2017-2019 models. Most "victims" of this problem end up in an endless cycle of trips to the dealership with continuing dangerous death wobble until their warranty is run out. The people who seem to have real success in permanent solutions go aftermarket, rebuilding the front end suspension at their own expense on their brand new trucks. This is criminal negligence. We have a crippled $50K truck - cannot even drive it on the highway! recall needed!!!!

Purchased a 2019 Ford F250 Super Duty, super crew cab, four wheel drive truck. Drove great until 21K miles. The notorious "death wobble" common to these trucks has started. Driving I-25 last night, truck shook violently after driving over a bridge at 75 mph with loss of any control. Immediately let up on the throttle and allowed the truck to slow under 50 mph and the wobble corrected. Further investigation revealed nothing out of the ordinary with ball joints, suspension, etc. I will be going to the dealership to have this issue corrected. A relatively new truck with 20K miles should be just breaking in, not broken. A serious safety issue that is going to kill people if not rectified.
