Approximately 5 times in the last 3 months I have experienced "death wabble" with my F250, in the most recent incident, I almost lost control of the vehicle. After hitting a bump at highway speed, I experienced an oscillation in the front wheels, causing violent shaking, that would not stop until I stopped the truck. Ford told me there was nothing wrong with the truck.

I was driving alone E on il rt 64 at about 2:45 pm when I hit a series of bumps on road that made the front end shake uncontrollably. I had to brake and slow to under 20 mph before it stopped. Again later that night at about 8 pm coming S on il rt 2 with cruise set at 55 mph it happened again had to brake/slow to under 20 mph again. This time my wife and mother-in-law were with to experience it. I have noticed front end being a little wishy-washy after hitting bumps but thought it was due to stiffer suspension after experiencing this I don't believe that is the case. Vehicle history so far- purchased used from wickstrom Ford. Went thru their used car inspection before I could purchase it- new rear tires and brake pads and rotors all around. Will try getting in to have checked out and technical service bulletin for steering damper performed. Have put less than 600 miles on truck since purchasing.

I am experiencing severe death wobble. It happened 6 times on the interstate between 4/24/2021 and 4/25/2021. It is violent steering wheel oscillation and truck vibration. It happened between speeds of 65-75mph. My truck only has 32000 miles on it. Ford has recalled the steering linkage dampener. I'm afraid this replacement will only fix the problem for a few thousand miles and then I will have to cover costs outside of warranty. I planned on keeping this truck for a while but it is dangerous. If I would have been towing my gooseneck trailer, I would have likely caused an accident. It could have injured or killed myself, my family, or other motorists. I have a video of the incident, but I can't upload it here. The Ford technician said it was the worst he had seen.

Upon entering the freeway, the truck started shaking violently and was nearly out of control. I pulled to the side, stopped, turned off the engine, restarted, and continued on. The death wobble stopped for the moment.

Traveling at about 60 mph, hit a rougher spot on the highway and truck began to vibrate uncontrollably. I slowed to approximately 35 and it went away. I bought the truck with 19,000 miles on it, and it now has 32,000. I did some research, and it is the 'death wobble."

Travelling approximately 70mph on the interstate, I crossed a small bump in the interstate which caused the truck to start shaking violently, I tried to control the truck but was losing control at highway speed. I then hit the brakes to decelerate the truck and it seemed like the braking system was not functioning as it needed to. The shaking and vibration did not stop until I was under 35mph I had to get into the left emergency lane to avoid causing an accident. I sat there for a few moments to gather my self up got out of my truck checked all 4 tires to verify none were flat and proceeded to drive at approximately 50mph back to my residence, where I parked my truck until I delivered it to the dealership on Monday morning to asses the truck and allow them the oppertunity to make nessecary repairs. This is the second time this has happened to this particular truck. The first scenario was pulling a camper on the interstate approximately 70mph and I was able to get it to the right shoulder and regain control at approximately 35mph. It went to the dealership and they replaced a steering dampener and checked all systems for proper function. Apparently the problem was not addressed correctly but was told that it could be multiple factors causing the "death wobble" as the dealership called it. They told me there was no correct solution but more of a trial and error fix.

While driving on I-90 in Ohio at approximately 65mph, I struck a small pothole with the drivers side front tire. The truck began to shake violently. I bumped the brakes and the shaking got even worse and steering was difficult. I took the vehicle to the shoulder and had to come to a complete stop to get it to stop. I drove the truck afterwards approximately 700 miles home. I was careful to avoid bumps or holes, but bridge seams caused a similiar problem many times, although not as violent as the first time. Ford has a service notification that they will replace the steering dampener if you experience this problem, but it did not feel like a dampener problem. I'll allow them to do it, but suspect I'll have more issues.

Experienced violent shaking of the vehicle on highway. This has happened 3 times at speeds over 50 mph. We believe this is what is commonly referred to as 'death wobble'. this is a very scary event. I am so surprised that the NHTSA has not forced Ford to do a recall on this issue. There are thousands of complaints on this issue.

While going down the highway at approximately 55mph the truck started to shake violently after hitting a small bump. I had to pull over and stop for the shaking to stop. I immediately turned around and went home. On the way home I experienced it multiple times. The truck is currently in the shop. After research it appears the experience is referred to as the 'death wobble'. it is a very scary experience when your family is in the truck with you.

Driving on the highway at speed of 70mph the vehicle hit a small bump which caused the entire vehicle to start to rattle violently. The vehicle continued to rattle uncontrollably until it was able to decelerate to a speed of approximately 25mph. Previous to this scary experience the vehicle would loose some control and feel when small bumps would bounce the suspension.

19000+ miles. Second time this happens. At highway speed truck front end shook violently after going over a bridge overpass. 'death wobble'. almost lost control. Was hauling a trailer. Almost caused a huge accident. Had it been a wintery day would have easily gone off road. Will take to dealer, even though it is proven not to fix anything. It will just postpone it from happening again later.

With 21,000 miles on truck I experienced uncontrollable steering wheel oscillations after hitting an expansion gap joint on highway. I took the truck to dealer and they inspected and replaced steering dampener. Now with 32,000 miles on truck same exact issue after hitting bumps in road and expansion gaps on road on multiple occasions. Took truck back to dealer and the service tech ordered another steering dampener on back order. I took my truck to an independent mechanic ase certified and he informed me there was some play at the drag link where the pitman arm meets the knuckle. Ford now has my truck again and I was informed they could find nothing wrong with the truck and could not duplicate the oscillations. My truck now has 34,650 miles on it and the problem still is not fixed.
