We started having a death wobble while driving between 60-70mph where the steering wheel shook Violently and the vehicle shook so back it hurt and scared me and my kids in the back seat. It was very scary and almost caused me to wreck with my kids in the car on the interstate. We then looked up and saw there was a recall for this problem. We took the truck into a dealership and got it supposedly repaired. It did not work. Roughly 1 month later. I was trusting Ford fixed the issue and on the interstate again and almost wrecked a second time with the kids in the car. This truck shouldn-??t be allowed on the road of ford doesn-??t have a fix. My business partner has the exact same truck and the exact same scenario occurred where he got the issue fixed at a dealership after almost crashing only to have it happen again. Currently we don-??t know what to do as we paid big bucks for a vehicle that isn-??t safe to drive,

After going over bump in the road truck starts bouncing uncontrollable, like the left tire in bouncing like a basketball to a point of almost losing control, until i can slow down to a stop, then when I speed back up it stops. I have only experienced this two times both in the last month the truck has about 32000 miles. I have taken it to dealership for maintenance but I don't think they really know what's going on.

Oh June 15th, in the middle of the afternoon around 2-3 pm, I was traveling NW on SH114, in the toll express lane, from Dallas towards Grapevine after a minor medical procedure, when my truck apparently hit a small hole or bump, which caused it to vibrate violently simultaneously from both front wheels, as if they weren't even in contact with the pavement. It took a lot of effort to keep the vehicle from crashing into the concrete walled barriers which are located on either side of that lane. I ended up having to slow to essentially a complete stop before the violent shaking stopped. Once the truck was under control, I noticed that my incision site had swollen greatly, as if a tennis ball was in my neck. An artery had ruptured as a result necessitating my wife to meet me and transport me to the hospital/clinic for emergency repairs, as the wild and uncontrolled vehicle and the effort to control it had caused an artery to rupture in my neck. I now understand this to be what is commonly called Death Wobble. I am lucky I didn't crash, and I am even luckier that I am not dead from bleeding out. That incident and the resulting several weeks that followed necessitated a bunch of follow up visits and being off work as well as no physical activity, in addition to the trauma, pain, and now the fear of my truck doing this again in the future. My truck is available for inspection. I have reached out to Ford through live chat, social media and telephone, but I have received not response so far. I have little more than a desire to help others avoid crashes and injuries and to have my truck repaired. I am the original owner. It is under warranty. BUT< there is no current recall and the information I have been able to glean indicates that the proposed repair woefully inadequately does anything. Somebody is going to die, if they already haven't. I'm just lucky it wasn't me that day. Being stuck in a barriered lane, bleeding internally profusely was terrifying.

Above 60 mph if my truck hits even the smallest pavement imperfection or small pot hole my truck will begin to vibrate uncontrollably. The vibration will continue until I slow below 50 and the vibration will go away. Watching videos on the internet, they refer to it as "Death Wobble". VERY dangerous situation and I will not allow anyone to drive my truck but me.

On 2 Jun 22, on I-24W near Nashville, while driving at the posted speed limit (65mph), I hit a pothole. The front end started oscillating which made it very difficult to maintain control. I slowed and pulled off the highway. The bouncing stopped just before pulling off. I inspected the tires for possible damage. There was none. Later the same day on I-65N north of Indianapolis, also driving near the posted speed limit (70mph) I hit an expansion joint, and the oscillation recurred until I slowed down to under 45mph. On 6 Jun22 travelling on I-65S I experienced the same oscillation on three occasions after hitting a bump at a bridge, a rough place in the road and a small pothole. On 7 Jun 22, while traveling on I-75S I experienced two more incidents due to bumps on the road. In all 5 instances the oscillation stopped after slowing to ~45mph. These incidents caused a severe lack of control putting me and other drivers at risk. This problem has been widely reported in online forums and in other complaints to NHTSA. There were not warnings or symptoms prior to the failure. Ford appears to be aware of the problem, issuing TSB 18-2268, but has yet to issue a recall.

AT 60-70 MPH THE FRONT END BEGINS A SERIES OF VIOLENT SHIMMY OR WOBBLES. IT IS A RECURRING ISSUE. THE SERVICE TECHS REFER TO IT AS THE DEATH WOBBLE. i WAS TOLD IT NEEDED A STEERING GEAR REPLACE INITIALLY. TODAY I WAS TOLD IT WAS A STEERING DAMPNER. I HAD THE TRUCK EVALUATED ON 5/26/22 AT PHIL LONG FORD AT MOTOR CITY WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE NEW. When driving the front end will begin to violently shake making it almost impossible to maintain control. This seems to be triggered when driving on the highway and when hitting a transition in the road or any type of bump no matter how small. The only way to stop the shake is to quickly get off the road and stop. The dealership has been made aware and did a temporary fix, very temporary. We have contacted them several times and have been told there's nothing they can do.

Problem is in the front end suspension that effects the steering when the truck begins to suddenly shake violently at around 63 mph--a simple expansion crack in the road, or a bridge crossing initiates the event. The steering wheel has nearly been jerked out of my hands at said speed and only stops after rapid slow-down. This first happened when the truck had about 20,000 miles on it and was on a two lane, well-maintained highway in east central Illinois. A couple of other violent events have occurred since that time and many others were stopped by my immediate slow-down; a hazard to drivers following closely behind. The first time it happened, I thought a tire had exploded or a wheel had come off the truck and I slowed and pulled off to the side of a two lane road (emergency flashers were put on to warn other cars). The man I was with and I walked all around the truck and examined what had come loose or off, and found nothing. I had already had the tires rotated twice, but had them again rotated and balanced within about 10 days. I took the truck back to the dealer for a rear axle recall, but I stressed at this time, that there was a serious issue with the front end. I described the violent wobbling and steering wheel jerking to the head maintenance man at Poage Ford Dealer in Bowling Green Missouri and he admitted that Ford had a real problem and, at least 3 other owners had the same complaints, and parts would be ordered (steering damper suggested but mechanic didn't know for certain if this was a fix on a newer truck) for my truck but I would be 4th in line at this small town dealer. The truck is still well inside a 3 year warranty and I called same dealer 2 weeks later to ask if the part had been received; and no, it had not. From what I have read this steering damper does not fix the problem. Only the dealer service department has inspected the truck. I don't think insurance is going to be interested in paying for a manufacturing defect, but I will call them

Hit a bump in the road and the front suspension starting shaking and the steering wheel became very hard to hold onto because of the violent shaking. The vehicle almost flipped over before i could get stopped. Ford replaced the steering damper but i still feel more bouncing from the front suspension. I think there are more issues than just the steering damper.

Experienced the "Death Shaking" 7 times while on our way to Talladega while towing a 6 ton camper. It would shake violently until I brought the rig to a stop. We were able to nurse it to Tony Serra Ford in Sylacauga AL., where they replaced the steering linkage damper. This is a serious issue because of the potential for control loss.
